I had my Ford Ranger automatic transmission rebuilt at Valley Transmission approximately 25K miles…read moreago and have now experienced multiple parts failures the most recent being the input speed sensor (the manual lever position sensor failed right after the rebuild was completed). I was informed by an employee at Valley Transmission that they had used Chinese parts to do the rebuild. For $3400 dollars I was expecting OEM parts so this came as a total surprise to me. As far as I can tell the work done by the Valley Transmission mechanic was solid but the Chinese parts used in the rebuild are of inferior manufacture and the warranty is expired so I am now left $3400 poorer with a nonfunctional vehicle. RESPONSE TO VALLEY TRANSMISSIONS RESPONSE: Sheryl, It doesn't matter where they were purchased from. I was informed by a Valley Transmission employee that they were Chinese manufactured parts. With multiple failures (one right after the rebuild) the parts used in the rebuild are clearly of inferior manufacture.

A few years ago, my 1993 Chevy 4x4 needed the transmission rebuilt. I thought I'll keep my business local, so I took it to a tranny shop in Airway Heights. Needless to say, I was out $5,000 dollars as reverse and overdrive did not work. I took it back to the shop, and the mechanic still couldn't fix it correctly. I was livid, so my truck sat for a few years. When my 2001 Chevy Suburban needed a rebuilt transmission a few years, I googled tranny shops to find the one with the most stars. Custom Transmission was the winner. I took my Suburban there and was greeted by one of the nicest ladies on the planet, "Cheryl." It didn't stop there, as Steve, her husband, was equally as kind. Steve's meticulous and honest work paid off as we've put 10,000 miles on the rebuilt transmission and it still runs like a new transmission. So, this summer when I needed to resurrect my '93 Chevy 4x4, I had Custom Transmission rebuild the tranny in my truck. Again, Steve did an amazing job. My truck runs the best it has run in years. I did some research on what type of tires my truck would need. When explaining to my guy at the front desk he told me that there's an equivalent tire that is more appropriate for my truck. The tire he suggested was about $75.00 less per tire. I was ready to pay $300.00 more than I had to and they let me know it wasn't necessary.
