Most recently, I ordered two OEM liftgate supports for my vehicle, and they arrived very quickly. When I went to pick them up, I asked the associate, Daniel G., how to install them. He explained that it was very simple and only required a flathead screwdriver to remove the old ones and snap the new ones into place. He even offered to install them for me, and it literally took about five minutes. My auto repair shop had told me it would take 30 minutes and cost $45, so I was really grateful for the help. Another time I came in with what I thought was an alternator or starter issue after receiving incorrect information from an auto repair shop nearby. Daniel let me know they had an OBD2 scanner available and helped check the codes on my car. The scan showed a battery code and not a starter code/ issue, which helped point me in the right direction. He also recommended that I purchase a good OBD2 scanner for future diagnostics and even told me where I could find one, even though they didn't have one available for sale. Penny Pincher has saved us not one, not two, but at least THREE times or more, when one of our cars broke down and we needed a part that all of the regular retail chain auto parts stores said had to be "special ordered". Penny Pincher always has the parts we need in stock and always at a much lower price than those chain auto parts stores quote. Need an example? Two days ago, our older Honda Civic blew a wheel bearing while driving on the 101. None of the chain retail auto supply stores had it in stock, but told us they could special order it for $15 and that it would take days to get it. Penny Pincher had it IN STOCK for $3. A day later, we were back on the road! Thank you Penny Pincher! Lots of professional and DIY mechanics come here, so the place is always very busy. Customer service can be great or bad, depending on who you get, but out of the many times that I've dealt with PP, only once did I deal with a rude employee (he was disciplined by the manager later) and the other time, they gave me the wrong part and although they fixed their mixup without complaint, it was annoying to have to wait in that long line, so make sure you have the right part before you leave the store!

The yard goes back so far, I could easily spend an entire afternoon here looking through all the awesome parts. I first came here when the engine siezed on our 2002 Toyota Corolla. Jesus & Jose quickly helped us find a used engine for a great price. When the first engine we got didn't work, they worked with us to get us a replacement that worked with very little hassle. Highly recommend, 10/10. Great guys, great facility. I will be bringing my parts business here from now on.

As a former Corporate Manager myself running various types of stores, it hurts to me to go to a business or a store and find employees (and especially managers) who just do not care at all. This is why I am so happy and writing a 5-star review today for this Auto Zone location, but particularly - this review is 100% owned by the Manager here - Carlos Sanchez - because this guy KNOWS what he is doing and cares that he does it well - you can just tell. He is right there alongside anyone in the store doing the work, and frankly running circles around everyone else (at least, from what I have seen - that is meant as a compliment lol). He helped us personally about a month ago to get our battery tested and changed, and then again today (I got lucky he was there again) with our second car. Friendly & expedited quality service is what we all hope for, right? And this is a BUSY spot, as we have a LOT of independent dealerships right up the street along Broadway with mechanics and the like coming here.
