Came in here on 4/24/26 to pick up a spark plug socket. Went home, ended up being the wrong size after testing the size of the plug in the socket (I needed a 14mm) When I went in with the return not even a couple hours later (mind you I never even took off the plastic tag) this parts manager Bernie takes one look at it and says: "I think you used it." I then explained all I did was see if the plug fit and it didn't, it never went in the engine. He was incredibly dismissive and didn't seem to believe me or respond to me directly. I asked him if he thought I was a lying, which got no response, and I asked him again if he's saying I'm a liar and he didn't acknowledge me. He just kept talking aloud about how it was actually used and telling me "how" I used it. I told him that he could talk directly to me and not at me, as if I wasn't there at all and got no acknowledgment. He walked over to check the other ones and came back said "I'm going to take your return even though you used it. The other ones on the shelf as you can see are much cleaner." The man couldn't even muster up the respect to look me in the eye at any point when he's talking to me. Just deadpan and cold. I told him this is the kind if service you give someone that will make them go next door (to O'Reilly's) and he said "Ok, thanks." If this is how they treat their customers, avoid this place like the plague. Never been treated so poorly as a customer at any retail location ever. I have been going to AutoZone locations for 14 years and I've had a lot of (junk) cars that needed fixing. I guess I'll be using RockAuto exclusively or O'Reilly's if I'm in a pinch. read more

I've been buying batteries from Auto Zone for about 12 years. I always do because they check the battery, swap the battery and offer a decent warranty. Today, I take my car to Auto Zone to go through a process that has been pretty easy in the past.... Swap out my battery under warranty or buy a discounted/prorated new battery with the next/new warranty. Today, Hector, the super manager chief in charge of this store, turned what has been a great trustworthy relationship with a company into crap. I am literally sitting outside of this store in my car with the dead battery waiting on a friend to jump my car so I can drive to the next nearest Auto Zone where another manager, Max, has tried to explain to Hector how to handle my battery with the 5 year warranty! Apparently, AZone has discontinued their 5 year battery warranty offering. Hector initially told me there was nothing he could do despite the fact that my battery was less than 5 years old and clearly had a 5 year warranty. So, I called the next nearest AZ store and spoke to Max who looked up my purchase and explained to me what I recalled about buying batteries from AZ. Between me and Max, from the other store, trying to explain to Hector that my 4 year old battery should result in a prorated discount purchase of a new battery; Hector would not honor the warranty. What Hector told me he would do was exchange my dead battery for a new battery free of charge but I would not have a warranty. I wasn't at AZ to get a free battery, just honor the terms of the battery I bought -- a prorated discount purchase of a new battery with a 3 year warranty. The end result of this is... I am sitting at Batteries Plus watching a sales guy install my new battery. (Yes, I decided to drive past Max at the next Auto Zone to a different company) Thanks to Hector my return factor for this store (and possibly all auto zones, depends on how their regional office handles my experience) is zero. I went in looking for a certain item, I called ahead and was told they had it. I go in and am met with a gentleman who had a beanie, he had his earphones in and was on his phone the whole time. I asked him if I could get the item and he said they didn't have it. He didn't check the system. He was turned around on his phone and when I tried to talk to him he rolled his eyes. I then asked why they told me they had it if they didn't and who I'm assuming was manager(he was counting tills) told us that we were looking at the wrong item and gave me the nastiest look. This AutoZone is an absolute Joke! I came in to return a set of Lug nut Locks that were sold to me with the incorrect thread pattern. Apparently the Security feature was Not disabled when sold so I was Greeted by the "Manager" LORENZO/LEONARDO With a "What did you steal" ? I'm a 50+year old man, NOT cool/funny. When I called him out on it, he told me he wouldn't process my return because of the opened package, and that it is posted. I had the Same situation a week earlier next door at O'Reillys , (too long) Returned. No Questions Asked! The "Manager" Lorenzo/Leonardo told me I should find another AutoZone. I did. I understand "Return Issue" regarding 14 W. Baseline Rd. Is not new to 1830 W. Southern Ave. Kudos to Miguel (1830 w. Southern) he was great! I Can't necessarily say he Saved you a customer, but he did Satisfy a customer. As the saying goes "If you don't Satisfy your Customer, somebody else Will".
