I've been coming to this Firestone for many years. Yesterday I had an appointment for a tire…read morerepair. They got me in right away, and I was out within 2 hours. It took longer because I needed a new tire and the one I needed was at a different location. A Firestone driver brought the tire so we had to wait. No problem. They were able to use my tire warranty to get a discount for the new tire. The customer waiting area does need to be updated. Chairs are kind of grungy.

I'm here to visit my Mom. And when I visit, I try to take care of whatever needs to be taken care…read moreof. One is a new headlight. She had been driving around with only one headlight for months. She relayed Firestone had quoted her a $500 estimate to replace her headlight. WTF?! I called around and found cheaper estimates. I also thought of simply purchasing the bulb and having my brother put it in, but I know that can be complicated (some headlights are very involved). Long story short, she wanted to go back to Firestone (Ugh!) after they quoted her a lower price. We get there, and the mechanic explains that it is indeed $600 (increased since her last estimate) due to the type of bulb that is being replaced. Again, I would rather go elsewhere, etc., but my time here is limited, and I want to get it done. So, just do it. They had to order the bulb we now know we needed. It was explained that it would arrive to the shop in 20 minutes. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the manager's expertise (I believe he was the manager) who came out to the waiting room a few times to explain some issues to the customers. He seemed concerned, thoughtful, and professional. While we waited, several customers arrived and waited....... and waited....... and waited to be addressed. It got to the point that I would advise them to knock on the window to get the attention of the mechanics. Perhaps they were short staffed. The manager left at some point, and I saw only 2 employees (maybe they were on break). This was at about an hour into our wait. At 2 hours into our wait (it's a headlight, c'mon now), I started walking back to the garage to see what was going on. I saw Dominick (sp) working on it, so I assumed it wouldn't be long. But hey, I have nowhere to be. Both Mom & I used the bathroom. When I went it I saw, it left much to be desired. Yes, it's a tire shop, but that should be on the list of things to check. Now it's 3 hours into our wait. FOR A HEADLIGHT REPLACEMENT. What gives?! I will say that Dominic (when he would see me at the window watching their work) would come and explain the progress, always ending with...... and then you'll be done, but still waiting. Finally, almost 3.5 hours in we paid $600 for a new headlight. Waiting 3.5 hours to have Mom's headlight replaced - Aggravating, but time for us to talk. Replacing Mom's headlight after she's been driving around one-eyed, because she couldn't afford it - PRICELESS. She always brings her car here for service. If I lived here I'd find a real mechanic to service her car; perhaps use after-market headlights, etc. But, she's gonna do what she's comfortable with, so...... Firestone it is.

The 1st day my son officially took the car out on his way home from school the check engine light came on! took it to a few places and all of them CONFIRMED the engine was already shot and that most dealers know with GMC's and high mileage that the engines are no good! TOOK TO A GMC BUCK DEALSHIP here in Colorado and they say there was metal in my engin!!!! They (GMC BUCK COLORADO) apologized for me getting delt a shity deal from M&F auto Albuquerque! I made a review on facebook after being ignored for months someone called me the day of the review and promised me he would be back to me and he would be talking to his general manager because they don't like the bad review and they want good relationships with their customer. Two weeks have gone by and not a word from them before we had called them and told them that it had broken down the day. took it out and they said since it was a day after the warranty, they were no longer responsible for it so the minimum warranty is days and since it that, that it was not then. The warranty people didn't wanna cover it because it wasn't past 1000 miles that it was driven. And said that the dealership is responsible for it. so no matter what they sold us a damn beautiful car just a shitty engine.!!!! I feel really saddened and heartbroken imagine you are a 17-year-old senior in high school who thinks you're getting your dream car for your senior year that your grandpa paid 15,000 in CASH for only for this to happen to you! Went into a different shop when check engine came on - now at the end of our cross country trip I'm in CO - asked if the shop could quickly check the code for me. The mechanic kind of begrudgingly did, but he did it quickly and then honestly told me what the issue was, reset the code and sent me on my way. $0 dollars. Old town automotive should be avoided at all costs. Not trustworthy. I asked them if they could quickly check the code. She told me how much a full diagnostic was ($200) I should have left then. After the "full diagnostic" When I asked if they would charge me a "partial diagnostic" she said no. I asked for the Yelp check in discount $10 or $20 maybe? no. AAA discount ? No. After asking if the was anything she could do to help me out she finally caved and gave me the aaa discount because she "doesn't even subscribe to Yelp and can't understand them on the phone half the time." I don't know if it's worth noting... THE ONLY REASON I WAS THERE WAS BECAUSE OF YELP, It was 10 or $20 discount and they were already ripping me off... I regret letting my anxiety get the better of me at the start of the trip. This situation was easily avoidable. I should have just left. Still waiting for that full diagnosis btw. Boo this garage.

Unfortunately because I was hurting for an oil change since I was pushing my vehicle 2000 miles past when I usually do it because I didn't have the funds and was working I ended up just eating it. I figured since they weren't that busy when I arrived it wouldn't be more than an hour so I went ahead and went shopping for things I needed. By the time I got everything I needed almost an hr had passed so I used the scanner to scan the barcode they gave me and it said it hasn't been serviced yet. I continued to walk around the store for another half hr before scanning again to find out the same thing. Flustered I ended up going to the counter to check and get told the same thing. I paid for my stuff and waited in the waiting area. About 20 minutes passed until I finally got a text saying it was being serviced. By then it was an hr and 45 minutes passed when I arrived. About half an hr later I finally got a text saying my vehicle was ready. It took over 2 hrs to just get an oil change. When I arrived there was only 2 vehicles in the bay being serviced so how it took that long seemed like they prioritized other people who came after me and a couple other people that came in around the same time. I understand they are busy but I'm ver 2 hrs of a wait for an oil change is just ridiculous especially when there weren't many cars ahead when I arrived. I think next time I go somewhere else.
