Ed is the man. I've gone to him two times already both times were really good. For the first time (last Dec 2014) he took out the transmission off my Mk6 GLI 6 speed and installed a southbend stage 3 clutch for my car. He also replaced my slave cylinder/bearing within the transmission as well. He charged me a really great price in which I find is really fair for the customer and for him as well. I've called about six different shops and they were charging about 40% more than what he charges. Anyway last week, I was pulling out of a gas station and all of a sudden my car stalled while I still had the clutch pressed. Couldn't get my car into gear when I turned my car on, so I pushed my car into a stall in the gas station. Looked under and saw transmission fluid leaking from under my car and thought to myself, there goes my transmission. After calling my insurance, I had my car towed to a mechanic shop when they were closed and left my car there overnight. Called them in the morning and they were pretty grouchy and inquired in quotes from them in which was a lot. Then I thought of Auto Trinity and my problem was getting a tow company to tow my car 30 miles from point A to auto trinity. And I did all the calculations that it would cost the same if I were to stay at the mechanic my car was at as opposed to getting my car towed to auto Trinity (tow cost and labor cost) but the only thing that weighed it down for my car to stay at the first mechanic was I wouldn't need to spend X amount of time to get my car towed and going back home. Well anyway, reason why I still chose Ed was because he remembered me, he was fair in his prices and best of all he was nice. Honestly, I'd rather have a nice person work on my car rather than a grouchy person. Common sense right? Anyway I had my car towed to Eds place on a Wednesday afternoon and he was fully booked that day but still made room for my car. He said he will get on it in Thursday in which I was scheduled to go to a car show in Vegas Thursday. Thursday came and got a call from him saying he before he would take apart my transmission to see what's wrong, he saw a broken clip outside of my transmission that was leaking transmission fluid and said he ordered the part for it and wouldn't come Friday. I was pretty bummed that my car wouldn't make it to Vegas for the European car festival so I still left with a friend to Vegas for the weekend that Thursday night. Friday afternoon I get a call from Ed with good news saying my car was ready and it was the broken clip that caused my clutch to not have hydraulic pressure anymore. Anyway I was 280 miles away from his shop and it was Friday afternoon, and the show was about to start that evening and went on throughout the weekend, I grabbed a friend and drove straight home and picked up my car and drove back to Vegas within 8 hours plus a damn speeding ticket. Anyway I would recommend Ed. He's the man! read more

Auto Trinity is the place to go for maintenance on your vehicle. Ed is the car whisperer, he is very knowledgeable of what your car needs. Ed stays in communication with you throughout the service of what your car needs Vs what it doesn't need. An honest mechanic is hard to come by, but he is the man. Thanks Ed for your expertise my car is running amazing. John V read more

Bumping the other 5-star reviews because Auto Trinity / Ed is honest, friendly, and communicative. The times I've been, Ed would be finishing up with the other customers, and you can tell that they're also pleased by the service! Goes to show that their service is across the board. I went in when I thought my van was dying, and he took a look at it and gave me his honest opinion on repairs: It's still in great condition. And I look forward to bringing it back to Auto Trinity to maintain my car's longevity. Plus: The waiting area is stylin! read more

We brought our car which was having some engine problems. Ed did a free diagnostic which took about an hour or so then informed us on all the parts needed to be replaced. When we brought our car back the next day once the parts had arrived he had it fixed up and ready to go within a few hours. It was a little less than $400 but our car (the Plur-mobile) sounds great and is running well! Thank you Ed, we appreciate the honest work. read more

Don't bother shopping around for another mechanic, go to Ed. I brought in my 2011 BMW 328i because I was working on it and accidentally broke a bolt in the transmission pan. He fixed it right up and he honestly answered my questions. I asked about preventative maintenance and while other shops would try to make you spend more money with them, Ed told me straight up that it's not worth it. And he doesn't just work on German cars... I brought in my 2013 Honda Accord for an alarm malfunction and he fixed that too. Not only is he fast, he charges a fraction of what the dealership or other independent shops charge. Definitely the best value in town. read more

Finding a good, trustworthy mechanic is like finding a needle in a haystack. Ed is all of that and more. I first brought my Land Rover in when my battery kept signaling a low battery warning. Ed diagnosed it by saying my battery was fine but that he'd charge it to be safe, but I didn't need to waste my money replacing it because he checked the charge and everything was operating smoothly. He didn't charge me for the charge and put my mind at ease on any worries I had about my car. Right off the bat, I knew I'd trust him with my life, but more importantly, my car. A month later, my car was due for servicing and I immediately contacted him and was able to set up an appointment ASAP. He is unbelievably patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly, willing to explain everything about cars, why a fix is necessary or not, how he got to his pricing, and just full transparency on everything. I've always wanted to learn more about cars but felt the barrier to entry was quite intimidating but he's always happy to answer questions without judgment. His prices are beyond reasonable, he gets you in and out quickly, and he's just a great guy all around. Could not recommend him more. read more

Went to see Ed after an accident, and he informed me that my insurance company had seriously underestimated the damage. He handled everything - talking to my insurance people about the reality of the damage, how much it would cost, and upfront about everything throughout the process. Got my car back today looking amazing, and I am absolutely going back to Ed next time something like this happens again. Hopefully not anytime soon, but at least I know I have a mechanic that has my back. GO TO AUTO TRINITY. read more

This place, this guy deserves a 55, not a 5! Customer service is the way to go nowadays, and Ed knows all about it. He greets you with a smile, he informs you about the different solutions that can be made, and he keeps you at ease when it comes to making the final payment. When he says it, he means it, that's when you know you have a mechanic to go to in the future. We all know that German vehicles, such a BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's, VW's and Porsche's can be difficult and costly to work on, but he knows at all. With several years as a Audi/VW specialist, his knowledge is beyond your "regular" mechanics. My issue was costly, and overpriced at other places. I got 3 quotes, one from Volkswagen Glendale, another from a mechanic in Burbank and the 3rd from Hollywood. A buddy of mine recommended this place and my problem was solved at a much lower cost then the other places. I will go back to him for oil and filter changes, replace my wheel barring and clean up my transmission oil. Cheers to Trinity for keeping it up and loyal! read more

Every mechanic in the area should take a page from this place. Ed's the best! I've been to AT a couple times since I've moved out here, once for a lightbulb change, a coil pack replacement, and most recently a sway bar/steering repair. Having been to my share of auto repair shops, Ed and the team here are different right from the first phone call. They're friendly, and they try to get you in as soon as they can. When it's time for your appointment, they're great at actively listening to you and your concerns, and they explain repair options in a way that leaves you feeling knowledgeable and empowered to make good decisions. Ed is honest and transparent about costs, and after being here several times, I believe AT is a place that genuinely puts the customer first before making a quick buck. As a perk, the lounge area is spiffy with good magazines and wifi, but if your repair takes a little longer, you can kill time at the Americana megamall within walking distance. When it comes to car care in the area, this one's a no-brainer. Go see Ed! read more

Ed is the best in the game. It's that simple. Communicative, easy to work with, efficient, and did an incredible job on the car.

Went for a pre-purchase auto inspection. Excellent service. Professional, honest and direct. Provided plenty of advice. Recommended read more

Ed did a great job quickly fixing up some issues with my Toyota, which has a bunch of undercarriage rust from its time in Michigan. Offered a good rate and even covered the tax; when my family heard how much he was able to do, they thought that would be a great value for similar repair work done in Michigan, let alone in expensive LA. And it's been running great after driving it around for several weeks already! Just beware the new location along San Fernando can be a little tricky to find since the Auto Trinity sign wasn't yet installed as of my visit. read more

These guys were solid - Ed and "Ed" (Edwin) - got me out of a difficult jam with my at-fault minor collision causing damage to the right front bumper, fender, light, and hood/frame damage. They were able to find parts and get it all installed same day and at the same time buffed off a sideswipe paint thing and polished my other left light to make em match. Absolute solid work and gave me reassurance from the get-go. Thanks guys and I'll for sure be coming back once I'm back in the area for a few other tuneups. Note - I had a hard time finding Auto Trinity via googlemaps since the building signs is labelled something different (I think "Factory Express"), but the suite is correct at #104 and you go into the center with the big Staples sign read more

While we still drove a Japanese car, we would take it into Ed because he was honest, did quality work and was just an all-round nice guy. I tried reaching his shop today because I needed some work done on our last ICE vehicle (we have gone mostly electric), and to my dismay, his phone seemed disconnected. Drove by the shop on my way into to office to see what was up only to discover he was gone and a new outfit had taken his place. According to his neighbor he closed up on July 1. I suppose he was the victim of COVID-19. Sorry to see him go and wish him a lot of luck in the future! read more

The customer service given by Ed and Auto Trinity is by far the best and second to none. His knowledge about German cars and specifications is unreal. I've had issues with my vehicle prior to seeing Ed from Auto Trinity and it seemed like the problem would be endless. After speaking to Ed, he made me understand what needed to be done and how to go about fixing the issues. Not only did Ed fit me into his schedule but he made me feel reassured that he would fix the problem. If there's a way to give him a 6 or 7 star I would easily do it. This is the first guy I've been to who didn't have his hand in my wallet. I'm glad they relocated to somewhere close to my place, even though at this point I'd drive the extra mile just to get him to work on my car again. Thanks Auto Trinity read more

Ed (or "Ed"?) seems to always get me out of bind. Random panel fall detach from the bottom of my car? Auto Trinity reattached it and got me on the road right away. Brake lights out? 10 minutes in and out and we're ready to roll again. Ed has a ton of experience with Volkswagen, which really showed in how efficiently he's been able to diagnose and fix my random little problems. I'm looking forward to seeing their new location, wherever it might end up being. In the mean time, their temporary setup isn't too hard to get to. read more

Ed is absolutely great. Has been working and maintaining my cars, my families cars. His work has always been consistently great!! Ed is professional, courteous and most of all HONEST! My engine was misfiring, he looked at it even though he was stacked with cars to complete. Gave me his honest opinion and told me to save money by returning to the original mechanic who caused the issues. I still didn't get the issues handled by original mechanic and returned to Auto Trinity they found the problem (loose spark plugs and wire connection) overall an easy fix, charged me for the labor time only. He could have overcharged me and said parts needed to be replaced. But he said all the parts are In working order they just needed to be tightened down. He ran a test and cleared the codes/warning lights on my dash. I will be returning always to Ed and Auto Trinity for his honest and professional service ! Thank you Auto Trinity! read more

So far, in 12 years of living in Los Angeles, I've found exactly 3 mechanics that I trust and will sing the praises of. Ed at Auto Trinity is one of them. The first day at my new place, my car decided to be a dick and break down. I knew from the minute it started messing up that it was transmission related, meaning LOTS of money. Luckily the tow truck driver recommended Ed who he knew from another dealership and had opened his own shop. Normally, I'd be wary of a new mechanic, but the way everything was handled, I felt completely confident in his ability and honesty. Ed actually drove the 15 minutes to our house to just give us an estimate of what was wrong with the car. After he gave it a look he knew it was the differential and that it was a common problem with this make and model car. He had the car towed on his own dime and even drove the car back when it was done, because I have a baby and it was hard to get out and pick it up. Not only that, the price for the transmission, new mirror, and driver side window to be fixed was AMAZING. He even threw in an antenna (mine was stolen...go figure), put on my new windshield wipers that I had been procrastinating putting on, and gave my car a wash. WOW!! Since then, I've had my battery replaced and another small repair fixed. Turn around time is great and Ed stands by his work. Did I mention that he's also just an all around nice guy? What I'm basically saying is, look at all the 5 star reviews and stop looking for a new mechanic. You found him. read more

5 STARS: HONEST, THOROUGH, and PROFESSIONAL After thorough research online (thanks, Yelpers! Love you!), and being in need of an honest mechanic...I found Ed at Auto Trinity! Every review before mine is 100% accurate. He does a hell of job; thorough, ON TIME, and no "suggestions" to add onto the tab. Let's do our best, as a community, to support small businesses like this one. He was a whizz w my BMW inspection and service, communication was impeccable, and prices were reasonable. Ed is a rare gem, and now I will be a customer as long as he's in business. p.s He's such a sweetheart, on top! He offered me coffee this morning (I've never experienced that outside of a dealership) BRAVO! Andrea read more

After 6 years of going to various mechanics who ripped me off, then going to the dealership where I paid over the top dealership prices I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that Ed is hands down the most honest, nice and affordable mechanic that ever crossed my path. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Auto Trinity to anyone who is driving a German car or any car. As they say: if you can fix a German car, you can fix any car. I drive a VW Jetta and know that European cars need a special kind of attention and care than other vehicles....mainly because of the "German Engineering". :) Well, when I found Ed I thought he was a blessing in the sky. Literally! Not only has he been trained at VW in Germany, has worked for VW for 6 years and for Audi for another 4 but he also charges very fair prices, as opposed to the blown up prices of the dealerships. Also, while speaking with Ed I got that he really knows his business down to the core, he knows what's going on out there in the market and about how people pay way more than they should for car services. His attitude is completely different than what one usually experiences. He genuinely wants to get the job done right and have pleased customers leave his shop safely. As a woman, even more so I felt taken care of by Ed because he explained exactly what was going on with the car and after the repair he reassured me that everything ran perfectly. Ed charged me less than a half than what the dealership price was. I had the coolant flange replaced by him for $120. The dealership price was estimated at $280-$400 (depending on how bad the damage was, as they said). My car runs great now and i will go back to Ed from now, although he is all the way at the other end of town in Glendale, while I live in Mar Vista. It doesn't matter. I finally found a good mechanic and I will keep him. Thanks Ed. You ROCK!!! read more

Ed was recommended to me by a friend at VW & I have to say it was the best thing that has happened to my car in a long long while. His work is always spot on simply because he seems to actually care about what he's doing because he wants you to come back as a customer. Put it this way, he fixed a problem that my GTI was having for the past 2 years that the dealership couldn't figure out. As many times as I explained the incident to them they couldn't figure out the problem to fix. Took the car to Ed. Problem was fixed in 2 visits. The guy even fixed my door that wasn't flush with my body... simple fix but the dealer couldn't fix it. The guy even fixed little things on my car for FREE that I didn't ask him too. That's great service. Not good...GREAT service. Take your car here. You won't be dissatisfied. read more

I want to start off by saying I rarely yelp! It only takes an incredible experience for me to be passionate enough to leave a review. Since moving to Los Angeles, I have seen my fair share of auto body shops, but absolutely NOTHING comes close to Auto Trinity. I was lucky enough to come into contact with Ed, the car genius himself. He gave my car a tune up and had her sounding brand new again. Not only did he detect the problem right away, but he also fixed it in no time. He is incredibly HONEST and genuinely cares about his customers. His work speaks for itself! The negative 'mechanics' stigma is put to rest here; no woman should feel that they would be gipped at Auto Trinity! Bottom line you will find great service at a great price at Auto Trinity. I'm so happy that I have finally found my permanent mechanic! I will definitely refer my friends and family here! Thanks again Ed! read more

My go to for all auto repair. We take all my families cars / vans to Ed and he does an amazing job. Highly recommend!!

Finding a mechanic who is both good at their job AND honest in their dealings with you, is considered a tall order these days. However, Ed at Auto Trinity fulfills this order in leaps and bounds. Not only does he provide quality work but he will outright tell you how serious or not serious an issue is with your car - even though he could make more money off of you by making a mountain out of a molehill. Ed would rather see to it that you are cared for. It's a very low key environment and I never feel pressured into buying something I don't need. He even makes sure to get you what you need at way less than what you expect to pay. I live in downtown LA and Ed is in Glendale but since I trust him with my car, I willing make the trip. Just sayin' #ohVeronica read more

He'll tell you if you need something, or if you don't. And he won't treat you with any less respect if your car happens to be a bit more... mature... he's worked on all 3 of our cars, the '87 scirocco, '08 civic hybrid, and 2000 GTI vr6. It's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic that won't take advantage of you (especially when you're a younger woman who obviously knows nothing about cars). Ed is an amazing mechanic trained in Germany and worked for Audi and VW for years. Ed will only fix what needs to be fixed and will not try to up sell or pressure you into doing anything. He's very honest, upfront, will give you a fair price, and a personable man. My car's transmission needed to be rebuilt and Ed sat me down and walked me through my options. He never pushed me or tried the scare tactic that some mechanics try using "if you don't fix it, then...(fill in the blank with worst case scenario bullshit). I can't forget to mention he took the time to help bring my car to his shop since I was afraid it wouldn't make it. How amazing is that? And his follow through is spot on! When he says he'll do something by a certain time, he does it without you having to call to check in. Don't waste your time or energy going elsewhere. Ed is a genuine, kind, knowledgable, fair man who runs his business with integrity. I will never go to another mechanic ever again! He will be my mechanic for life as long as I'm living in the LA area and I recommend him to anyone with no hesitation. read more

Ed is hands down one of the nicest mechanics I have ever met. A couple of my lights came on in my car, so I found Auto Trinity through Yelp. Took my car in that same day. He ran the diagnostics FOR FREE and gave me an honest answer about what needed to be done. He did not try and sell me on unnecessary work/upcharge me. In fact, he recommended I NOT do the work because my car has a lot of miles on it and the parts were too expensive and not worth it. When we get a new car, I will definitely be coming back to Ed and his team in the future. read more

I visited Ed for the second time yesterday, the first time being a visit a few months ago where I ended up not getting work done on Ed's recommendation. Thats right, a mechanic to told me that I didn't need to shell out the money yet and could get by for a while longer. No pressure, no sales pitch, just an honest assessment of the work, a reasonable price, and a handshake when I left. I went back yesterday to get the work done, and Ed not only remembered me, but also the business I own nearby. He is personable and relaxed, and made me feel very comfortable with everything. The work was done quickly and professionally, and the personal touch was a huge bonus. I highly recommend Auto Trinity! read more

Let's face it, everyone has their share of unscrupulous auto repair shops especially in Glendale. When I came to see Ed on my first visit regarding an oil leak. He was very personable yet professional. After inspecting the car on a jack at no charge his analysis was refreshingly honest. Don't put any more money into the engine due to the age. Since I was in-between job my vehicle was becoming a money pit burning through my funds. It became a love and hate relationship. Nevertheless, I kept Ed's shop in mind the next time my car needed to be serviced. First impression made a difference. In a few weeks, my engine light turned on. I was kind of peeved when I drove to his facilities he couldn't scan the car. Commented the shop was too busy and to swing by another day. It really doesn't take that long to scan the car computer - a few minutes tops. Anyways, I just drove a block over to the next shop who scanned the car in 2-3 minutes. After translating the engine code, I dug up the problem online - the bank one oxygen sensor went bad. I proceeded to order a name brand part (Bosch) on eBay, for more than half the price repair shop suppliers and O'Reilly charges. Cut the middle man and purchase the parts yourself. When I received the the new O2 sensor in the mail. I drove to Auto Trinity on a slow day for the shop, Ed didn't flinch when I asked him for the labor cost to replace an oxygen sensor. His quote was affordable compared to other shops in the area. I called ahead to other shops to get a price point range. He then proceeded to retrieve the oxygen sensor in my passenger seat and took the car into the garage immediately. My impression with Auto Trinity is their service is professional, and depending on your small repair job reasonable priced. But they can be spendy with the labor cost on certain jobs. So be diligent call couple of places to get prices and labor duration. As always, be a smart consumer and do your research on your vehicle. There's plenty of forums and YouTube video to better educate you on car problems. Thanks to YouTube I managed to swap out a knock sensor and ignition switch. read more

A TRUE five star experience! Ed and his team are incredible. Things that set them apart to me are: amazing customer service, quality and fair price. I have been taking my VW's to the dealer for over a decade and while their customer service was pretty darn great the prices were exorbitant. I was hanging in there while I still had warrantees on each. Since the last one was up I started looking around and most places I tried were filthy, slow to turn around and honestly sometimes I wasn't even sure the work was actually done since they didn't keep and show me the old parts (Ed does this and is very upfront about everything he does.) The experience here was amazing, Ed's incredibly knowledgeable and can find parts at discounted prices for some things and the rates are very reasonable. The place is pretty tidy too (for a repair garage,) and when you go to pick up your car he goes over everything that's been done in a way that's easy to understand. He also shows you the replaced parts and gives you a very detailed typed receipt/invoice (which is great if you ever need to go back over your records to see if something had already been done.) The part that really sets Ed's business apart from so many other auto repair places is the level of customer service. Even when you call you'll get what I mean. We'll be taking our other car here too for sure. A very satisfied customer!!! read more

This was my first time taking my Audi to a new garage since I moved to Atwater Village, and after this oil change service, it might be my new mechanic for life. The team was very attentive and knowledgable, even with a small service like an oil change. Ed was very transparent as to what was being worked on and how much the oil change costs (he even asked me how much I usually pay and would match or beat that price). The building was in-construction, but Ed still offered me beverages while I was waiting [ from what Ed (owner/lead mechanics) said, the place will be very spacious and accommodating when finished ] Ed has years of experience with German automobiles, so I felt confident that he had the expertise to conduct work on my car. Knowing how hard it is to trust mechanics, I left feeling pretty confident that my Audi was in the right hands with a person who came across as having honesty and integrity. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for professional, experienced, and reasonably priced work done on their German automobile. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! Everyone I came in contact with (via phone or in person) was extremely nice, especially V! After looking at my car he made sure to clearly explain everything to me, he also showed me the problems so I could get a better understanding. I went in for what I thought was one problem but ended up being 3 seperate issues, unlike other shops there was never any pressure to get it all fixed at once...heck he didn't even pressure me to use Auto Trinity. V offered to keep my car over night since he suggested I not drive it and told me to think about what I wanted to do. Who does that???? I gave him the call in the morning to move forward and fix it, maybe 5 hours later I received a call from Ed saying it was done. All in all a great experience. read more
