About what I expected in the way of a dealer, very friendly all the way through but things get a bit rocky when it gets down to business. Autospot was the last stop after searching for the vehicle I wanted. The salesmen/dealer who I'd been in contact with was pleasant on the phone, with his emails and in person. He eagerly talked up the vehicle and answered questions I had about it. So far so good but when now we start negotiating, for the first time I'd seen at a dealer with all the other "fees" the car came out to be almost $1500 more than the list price! Heads up guys you're supposed to decrease the price in order to move the car. Clearly its about money at this point. We go back and forth with the "authorization fee" and "documentation fee" and whatever else he pulled out and settled on a price. Even after that we had to negotiate the inclusion of a replaced windshield that they wanted to charge for! It was badly cracked. They turned around and did it in a couple short hours and we made a deal which was good. The location is right off of Rt. 17 and huddled together with several other dealers which makes the area a bit congested, so if you go -- ask one of the dealers to park in a bay. So is it worth it? I'd say yes. Go ready to haggle and sniff out nonsense they try to get over on. Someone knowledgeable about cars or sales is a plus but just have your wits about you and dont be too quick to answer yes about everything. They have a large selection of preowned cars and they were nice which should be a given but does help the process. read more

I wa so glad to see that the Yelp review is accurate because a 4.8 on Google is insane. these people are crooks and dangerous. they sold me and my daughter a car that started to fall apart ON OUR WAY HOME. I should have turned around right then and there. a few months later the car caught on fire with my daughter in it. she's okay but wtf?? this place should be shut down. read more

I was car shopping when I came across this establishment. I was interested in the 2019 Kia Sorento they had listed in their inventory. I was scheduled an appointment for a test drive and begged them to not waste my time seeing as I was coming from another state. They promised me the car would be there waiting for me. When I arrived I was given the bad news that the car was sold at 8PM, same time they were closed which disturbed and traumatized me. I had my hopes set so high for the vehicle and to be let down was so disappointing. I wasted hard earned money and fuel to get there and have my wishes diminished in an instant was heartbreaking. They offered to show me other vehicles that might peak my interest but the situation got worse as the more vehicles they showed me I realized they were selling vehicles with issues. Some had oil leaking in the transmission as well as debris as if squirrels or rats were resting there. Some engines had knocking noises and check engine lights on. I couldn't believe they were offering vehicles like this to the public. If you are reading this consider this a heads up and a warning to look for another dealership because this clearly wasn't it. Would never recommend this business to anyone. #PSA #HelpingtheCommunitybuysafely read more

We bought a 2019 Honda Pilot from this used car dealership. It took them almost six weeks to send us the NY registration. Without which we couldn't have the car inspected. We finally received the registration after a month and a half, and several phone calls. We then found out that the vehicle has cracked control arms, and three tires which couldn't pass basic safety inspection. One of the tires went flat, and the battery died, requiring a replacement. We notified Auto Spot and their General Manager eventually offered only $1620.00 to pay for tires, control arms, a PVC valve and spark plugs. Additionally, it has since been discovered that the vehicle has a defective transmission which needs to be replaced at a cost of $9,000.00. The 90 day warranty will only cover $2900.00 for the transmission. Auto Spot refuses to pay anymore than $1620.00. in spite of the fact that they fraudulently represented the condition of the car when they sold it to us. We have registered complaints with the Better Business Bureau, and The State of New Jersey Attorney General' s Office of Consumer Affairs. We are also seeking legal help for a potential law suit. In our opinion Auto Spot are liars and thieves and are not trustworthy to do business with. read more

I made an appointment two days in advance to view and test drive a vehicle. I also inquired about the window sticker, and they could not provide it to me. I drove for many hours through traffic between 3 states to get there. When I was about 30 minutes from arriving, I received a message from the sales representative stating that the vehicle was in the mechanic shop and they asked if I wanted to check out other inventory. As soon as I received that text message, I called the sales rep to find out what was going on... the call was transferred to the rep's line and then disconnected. I called again and the 2nd person could not confirm that the vehicle was on the lot. I arrived, and the sales rep that I was working with handed me off to their coworker. I asked several times about what happened to the vehicle, but I couldn't get a straight answer. Finally the sales rep returns and I ask her, and she states that she heard a clunkering noise, that they reported it to her manager, and they had to bring it to the mechanic. I told them that I drove far and for several hours and that I had planned to view the vehicle and test drive it before purchasing. I told them that I can drive to their mechanic shop to view it and get the details. The other sales rep said it was 2-3 miles down the road. I told them I can drive there. 2-3 miles is pretty simple compared to having already driven 100s miles to get to dealer. That same rep asked if I wanted to view other inventory. I told him NO, and that I was only interested in that vehicle. After all of this nonsense, it turns out to be what someone would call a classic bait-n-switch. So warning to all sincere car shoppers, buyer beware with this dealer. read more

Stop lying to customers, insisting that theft insurance is required. I haven't bought a car in a while, so I wasn't sure of what was needed and what was not. At the point of sale I provided proof of full coverage insurance which included full replacement of the car if it was stolen. The dealership is geared towards people with bad credit so they take advantage of their desperation to get approved. In my case, we paid cash for the vehicle. Being they couldn't bang us with a high finance rate they found a way to steal $1595 for a worthless policy buy people aware. The policy needs to be canceled because I don't need it and don't want refund my money, simple . There are plenty of other people you can rip off , refund my money! read more

I would give zero stars - unscrupulous and deceitful - bate and switch and relying on uninformed consumers (first time car buyer). Sold a vehicle while not disclosing serious defects with the car for way over market value. Overcharge on the clerical fees / we had to go directly to motor vehicle. Wasted 6.5 hours of my time and about $40 in gas. The salesperson was not honest about the condition of the vehicle I was interested in. I had explained I had a long distance to travel and wanted to be sure the vehicle was in as good condition as it appeared in the website pictures. I was assured the pictures accurately portrayed the condition of the car. Unfortunately, after a 2.5-hour drive, I was disappointed to find the car condition was not as pictured. There were scratches, dings, and even a missing door handle part that could not easily be seen in the pictures. They have a great photographer! The lack of integrity set the tone for a bad shopping experience. Please take all of the one-star reviews seriously! This is not a good place to shop for a car. read more

I guess I now know why Used Car Salesmen get their untrustworthy reputation. I bought a 2016 Chevy Cruze from Auto Spot (Wood Bridge, NJ) in January. They said I had a limited time warranty (90 days) if there were any serious problems. I drove it off the lot and to a Pep Boys -- where they found $2,000 worth of engine and car damage. Neither Auto Spot nor the Insurance Company would cover it -- the Insurance Company said it was Auto Spot's obligation and Auto Spot claimed I purchased AS-IS. Do NOT SHOP HERE. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Last spring I considered buying a car from Auto Spot but wanted to come back on a different day to take it for a used car evaluation at Pep Boys. The salespeople pressured me, saying they couldn't guarantee that the car would still be here in a week and I could put down a deposit to hold it. I insisted the deposit be refundable, and after some resistance they agreed. I had the manager (RAY PERALTA!!!!) sign the deposit paperwork myself so they couldn't negate the refund. When I decided not to buy the car, I tried for 2 months to get the salesperson to process the refund over the phone/remotely (I paid with a credit card) and after lying to me for awhile saying it was being processed and it never was, then fed me all kinds of BS about why he couldn't do it remotely and said we had to come in to swipe our card. We lived 2 hours away from Auto Spot and didn't have a car at the time so this wasn't easy to do. We were in the area 2 weeks ago and finally went by with our signed refund paperwork and credit card receipt from the transaction. After making us wait for a half hour, Ray finally sat down with us and BS'ed us some more, saying Auto Spot has changed their credit card company and he couldn't provide a check refund until he had "verified this transaction with the owner" and insisted he would call me within 3 days. When he never called, I called him and, surprise surprise, he wasn't able to "verify this transaction".This is despite him having our deposit slip, signed by himself, a copy of our credit card receipt, and a copy of my credit card statement reflecting the transaction. These people are slimy, slimy businessmen and I would not waste my time or money here. They also have a horrible Better Business Bureau rating! Happy car shopping, literally anywhere else! read more

SCAMMERS! DO NOT COME HERE! I brought an 2013 Infiniti G37, online $5,999. They didn't put the correct car fax information online. I didn't know previously my car was in an accident. I didn't finance I paid in full but I overhead the conversation next me they tried to charge them also additional $3000 fee to finance a 2014 Hyundai. FIRST OF ALL, my car didn't have no inspection sticker on it, I had to pay to get my plates and registration. It's like I could've brought the car from the auction MYSELF. We were sold car - paid $395 Documentation and Clerical fees. Signed Power of Attorney for AutoSpot to title, register our vehicle with DMV. Told we would be called when Title and Plates arrived. We were NEVER called. Finally we called and went to dealer - that it was ready for pick up. THEY SCAMMED us - not sure what we paid for but we got the original title (AutoSpot as owner) after waiting 4 weeks - WE must now go to DMV to transfer title and register car ourselves!! They claim its because we paid cash and did not Finance the car. They say its correct - they know "because it happens all the time". DO NOT GO TO THIS "DEALERSHIP" Read the entirety of this review. Save yourself from the nightmare! I bought a ford F150 from this dealership and it's a complete lemon. My spouse who is overseas asked me to buy us a truck before she comes home so I do that and I bring a male friend of mine. I take it to my mechanic the VERY next day (because they wouldnt let us drive it to him) and he goes holy shit please bring this back ASAP. We do that and they say its "as is" knowing damn well this car is falling apart. So my spouse calls from the middle east to talk to the "sales manger" steve. She tells him "look, you have to do a risk analysis. This is 7k. Is that really worth tarnishing your reputation? Im overseas fighting for our freedom, working hard to make that money that I just sent her to buy this car and you sold her a lemon. Now when I come home in 2 months, I have to drive that vehicle. Your integrity is ok with that? There is severe erosion under this car. Trust that I will exercise every means to make sure people know the type of business being ran here.....is that worth 7k? Because I promise you will lose much more in customer loss. Just do the right thing. You know this car is junk. It's unsafe, and much was done to cover up these issues that an average person with no mechanical skills would have noticed. Take it back....because it's not worth the great lengths i'll go through to make sure everyone knows how terrible and shifty this business is. So after a ton of back and forth the car gets left so steve can talk to the owner mohammad. Also, because they did promise to fix the transline that was leaking as it was being driven to our mechanic. So They call back the next day and say we arent taking it back and as a consumer.....you have the right to do whatever you want to do. Wow. Just wow. Phenomenal business ethics. Also, the transline that they fixed, they just welded it up, they never replaced it. Also they said our plates were included in the price and they werent. The lied about it and only provided me with temporary plates. My wife will be home and now we are stuck with this car and she is across the world livid. So beware......we have made a compliant with consumer affairs and BBB but reviews are most important because hopefully this saves the person reading this from ever stepping foot at this place of business. They cover themselves from all legality "lemon law, buyers remorse" by selling the cars "as is" but the reality is that these cars are extremely dangerous. This company truly should be put out of business and investigated by the state of New Jersey. The vast amount of yelp reviews expressing their frequent selling of rusted cars should raise an alarm. They are putting people on the road with death traps. This type of erosion could only have come from cars that were in floods. And the reason why this wasn't noticed on our end initially is because they covered it up with a black rubber coating. It wasn't until it was driven to my mechanic and the black stuff started to chip off, showing the real deal underneath. If this isn't an unethical snake move, i don't know what is. The owner is Mohammad Abbulshokur and you should be ashamed of yourself. read more

Please do your business literally anywhere else. Very shady business practices with extremely disrespectful salesmen who have no problem expressing blatant sexism to their potential customers. They speak to the women customers like they're bothersome children and only show respect to the men, even when the woman is the one buying the car. They will also just sell your car that you literally have an appointment to come pick up and purchase if they can get more money out of another customer, and then not even let you know til you drive an hour to get there. Pay attention to the bad reviews. They are real. I'm looking into starting a class action suit against this dealership. They lie about the condition of the car, then make you sign a waiver based on their false information and when your mechanic tells you the repairs will cost more than the car is worth just to pass inspection, you realize you were taken. The GM, Steven Hernandez, doesn't even pretend to act sympathetic. It's so routine for him to rip people off that he has his script memorized and he just repeats it over and over no matter what question you've asked him. Stay away! If you don't, you will be taken too. Notice that the company doesn't even care to respond to their bad reviews here. They don't care. Please take the one star reviews seriously, this place is a total scam. I traveled 1.5 hours to this place because they had the exact car I wanted at a decent price. Took it for a test drive (in hindsight, at first was surprised we stuck to slower speed roads, now that makes sense) and it was ok. Inspected it after and saw there was a big bubble in one of the front tires. The tires were so worn they wouldn't pass inspection anyway. The car also had a musty odor (more on that later). When I said 'if you take off $300 for tires, I'll take it.' The salesman said 'that's impossible and I'll show you why' and proceeded to write a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper that raised the price by at least $2,000. Total BS charges including the scam 'warranty.' I got angry for having my time entirely wasted and someone came over, a type of manager, and he literally laughed at me and said 'did you really believe you were going to pay the price listed?' I pretty much stormed out. Felt more like walking away from a fistfight. While driving home I started thinking that possibly I was overreacting, so I pulled over and started reading the reviews. Among the reviews (which are all one star except for a few fake ones), someones mentions that the cars smell funny because they buy cars that have been in floods at auction. This also explains the amount of rust that seems to be an issue on many of the cars they sell. I really don't understand how this place gets away with what they are doing, it is criminal and horribly unethical. read more

TLDR: Not a car dealer... a lemon dealer... Would 0 star if I could. STAY AWAY! Auto Spot is not a trustworthy dealership and I would highly recommend to avoid this dealership unless its your last option.... even then expect the car to only last 30 minutes before it starts to break down. I went to AUTOSPOT with high hopes. Set an appointment to drive a car, got there after a 70 minute commute.... the car didn't' run. I was forced to look at alternate vehicles. I found what I thought to be a nice car and I asked 2 questions pertaining to the upkeep of the car. (1) Do you guys maintain and check the fluid levels? (2) Has the alternator and battery been checked? Answer to question1 : Yes we check the cars here and make sure they are ready for the customers Answer to question2: Yes its running very well the battery is only a couple months old. 30 minutes after leaving the lot with the car I purchased, still on the commute back, the check charging system light came on prompting me to go get it checked. Within the hour I was at a mechanic having it tested. The alternator was only pumping out 12.05v to charge the battery which is not enough to maintain the battery and probably required them to jump my car to even sell it to me. I was able to get them on the phone any time I had a question before I purchased the car. After I purchased the car I might as well have been put on a blocked call list. Took 4 days and 9 calls to their site to get a call back to say they wont take liability for the fraudulent business practices they actively participate in. Avoid this dealer and do not support them. This post may come off as though I'm sounding like a Karen. Maybe... but I wanted to like this dealer and I was even willing to split the repair price for the broken alternator but it is obvious the second the check clears they never want to hear from you again. I will be perusing legal action, as this falls under the Lemon Law in the state of New Jersey, and will make sure to update this review as the information comes my way. read more

If I wanted them to send me a car as readily promised a prior day, would need to do online credit application first. I didn't want to do thus as must take a credit hit plus impersonal to do without facing a person. I decided the not good r e views I had read for this place which were several, could've been right . Run away from this place fast! Nothing but scammers! 19, now make that 20, unanswered BBB claims. Probably would be more, but they run under a different name on BBB (Frank's Auto) Told my son the car was prepped by a mechanic (that was a $500+ fee). Said the noise and smell was the (obvious) muffler issue. Coil pack and wires brand new.....all making it seem like the muffler was the issue! That's until 2 days later and now the engine needs to be replaced!!! Bad cylinder, misfiring, could have blown a piston if we didn't stop him from driving it!!! If in fact their mechanic "prepped" that car he would have heard it....anyone trained would have heard it! SERIOUSLY, DONT DO IT. The bad reviews are real. Sold me car & 2 hours later check engine light came on with various codes that were hidden from me at the time of purchase. Read the reviews on other platforms too like Carfax, DealerRater, Facebook, etc. More of the same there. After I finish spending $5000 in repairs, which I have paid bills and estimates for, MAYBE I can get it inspected to be on the road. Fingers are crossed for that. Also, Read the contracts! They are trying to screw you. After chasing them down for days, and not returning messages when they said, they finally told me I can't take it back, and can't have them pay the repair bills. There are not even any cars on the lot I could swap it for with paying yet even more money & I already put out $1350 in repairs. Feel free to contact me on Twitter @VinnyStackhouse if you want any more details. I believe in honesty & integrity even if others don't. Learn from my mistake. One of most disappointing points is when I told the GM Steve that mechanics from both garages I use told me the check engine light had to be reset, Steven tells me well it's their word against his places word. Hi Ray: I am writing to ask you, again, to PLEASE refund me the deposit I left for a car I decided not to purchase on June 1, 2022. I was in a bad car accident at the end of May, and was out of work for quite a few weeks with no money coming in so the loss of this deposit is actually an extreme financial hardship to me, on top of the total loss of my vehicle and loss of wages and a traumatic physical injury that I am still healing from. I am fully aware that I gave you the deposit voluntarily, but honestly Josh never told me it was nonrefundable and if he had, I never would have left it. The car was displaying a diagnostic code that was told to us to be something minor- but when we got home and conferred with an actual KIA dealer- they made us aware it could have been something much more significant than "just a spark plug" as we were advised. Not to mention- the vehicle had a very heavy mold/mildew smell which ultimately left a bad taste in my mouth- literally. I understand you sell these vehicles as is and I did not want to exhaust what little funds I have on something that would potentially need extensive repairs and definitely detailing. Yes I disputed the charge with my bank because I felt upset that we weren't given the "full story" about the vehicle. It wasn't meant to be shady in any way. I am just trying to protect myself- as I am sure you can understand. I am asking you to please show some compassion and live up to your good reputation and PLEASE reverse the deposit since no services were ultimately rendered. Please call me with any questions or concerns- I know you have my number because I have left multiple messages with NO RESPONSE. read more
