If I could leave 10 stars for this business I would. Because they seriously deserve it. I've taken my Jeep here to be serviced and they've always done a great job. Especially when it comes to finding a new mechanic it's nerve-racking it's frustrating and just flat out scary. Let me also add that I am not the easiest customer to deal with when it comes to my vehicles. Any mechanic that unfortunately has to deal with me will have be patient and understand that I am just a control freak who needs to know every little thing that's going on with the vehicle that she's driving. I need to make sure that what I'm driving is going to be safe. With that being said, (I'm rambling) after they've worked on my Jeep and I've learned to trust them, I have been happy with the work that they have provided and the customer service they are provided, I had them dropping new engine into my truck. Not just a truck this is my baby this vehicle has gotten me through heaven and hell so it has sentimental value. My husband is the one that usually would drop off the vehicles interact with the mechanics here so I have yet to meet them. But after 2 weeks of being nerve-racked and pacing while learning patience, my truck is finally ready. Let me tell you how overly out of this world to the Moon and back HAPPY I am with the work that they have done on my truck. I won't even go into how much it cost because it was so worth it it wasn't expensive it was totally affordable I really feel like they gave me a great deal. But it's a new engine you get what you pay for so I wasn't expecting anything cheap. I want new shiny no oil no fingerprints type engine and that's what I got. But she drives so BEAUTIFULLY! I SERIOUSLY HAVE A BRAND NEW TRUCK. I literally cried when I started her and I cried even harder when I took her on the freeway. It's been a little over two weeks I have yet to have a problem I don't anticipate a problem and I know if something by some menial chance came up, that they would take great care and do everything they could to fix it or make it better. I trust these guys with pretty much my life because they took care of my truck that I drive everyday. If you were looking for a good mechanic trustworthy reliable with excellent customer service and great prices I would swear up and down that you should go here give them a chance. I'll never go anywhere else. I have been there numerous times; While some staff is excellent others in the office are not. Their office manager Cassie is rude, is loud and talks inappropriate while customers are waiting for vehicles. She yells at other employees in the service area and it can be heard in the waiting room across the way through the doors and glass. She has talked bad about previous employees regarding their employment to the extent of letting them go for false reasons, talking bad regarding the owner (which is her mother) all while customers are waiting; she is not quiet when she thinks she is. Its very unprofessional in that aspect of business. The technicians have been great regarding my vehicle and my wifes as well as Alicia in the office down to Lee as well. read more

Horrendously overpriced for the services provided. They take advantage of people breaking down near their small isolated town, assuming guests would not have any alternative but to have the work done there. I checked with other auto shop providers in Las Vegas, and even with paying the additional cost for a tow 22 miles from Boulder City to Las Vegas, it was still considerably less expensive to have our vehicle towed elsewhere for the work to be done. Locals give this place decent reviews, however, you will see other reviews are not so gracious. This place was very deceptive. I had got an oil change down in henderson and the mechanic there told me we needed new control arms. We decided to give this place a try on a friend'srecommendation. We let them know we had been hearing a noise when we went over dips and if they could verify that it was the control arms. They had it a day or so and said yes that's the problem and fixed it. While they were fixing it they informed us the axle on the left side needed to be replaced too. Figuring ok, they are already under there I guess go ahead. 3000. dollars and a couple days later we took the car home. Not even a day passed and and the noise was still there. I called them and asked if they could see if they missed something because the noise was still there. They said sure bring it in. A couple hours after dropping it off they informed me that the right axle needed to be replaced now and the bushings. I asked them why they didn't notice it the first time and they said we weren't looking for that but if I wanted they could get it in and fix that now. When I told them I'd have to think about it because I didn't feel that they were being upfront. I was told ok well we still have to charge you for the inspection. The whole thing seemed a little shady. I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt but definitely won't be back. The whole process was such a headache. read more

Picked up my truck on 3/20/24 and truck full of rat crap/droppings everywhere. Before I left I showed auto specialist Brandon he took pics and then called lee owner. I of course wanted car seat replaced for my 2 yr old little girl because the rats chewed it up and wanted a detail proffesionaly done and sanitized. I gave them opportunity to make it right to pay for car seat and detail but they/lee declined to make it right, they declined to pay for car seat and declined professionally detailing it. Well of course not happy lived in boulder over 30yrs went to high school at bchs a local and this is how us locals get treated wow for sure lost me as a customer im sure other cars are being invaded by the rats too. Take your business to another place it tells alot when a company doesnt want to make it right. They did say they would shop vac it out lol but nope it needs to be professionally done. A week later after driving it a huge oil leak under the truck after spending $2800 there. Crazy thing is owner Lee said theres a rat problem in BC and this is pretty common and doesnt fill its their responsibility and after reading rest of the bad reviews that the shop and owners always blame customers and its never the owners fault. Came back she said I had wrong parts I told her no you took off the wrong sensor I gave you the part that needed replaced. Long story short. Putting a part on a vehicle knowing it would only make the problem worse is being dishonest no matter how you look at it. I almost had a major accident on the highway because of this. Regardless, if you put a part on a vehicle knowing its not going to correct the problem as a ploy to get more business is another dishonest tactic . They checked out my vehicle right away on the Monday around noon I came in without an apppintment. I was there for an inspection and to get prices for suggested work on my vehicle. They did the inspection (for the cost of half hour labor) and told me what work they recommended. I received a printout with the recommendations but without the estimates. The cashier wrote the estimates down after I asked for them. read more

I called to have my brakes looked at on my Class A motorhome. Lee the owner said sure bring it in and we'll take a look at it. Never mentioned any charge to just look at it. 3 days later she said it would cost $7,000 to fix. Which i have found out most were unnecessary repairs. When I said I couldn't afford it. She said than I have to charge you $150 an hour for 3 hours of labor. So in order to remove my rv from her lot it.cost me $450 to do nothing. Since than 3 other mechanics looked at it and after 20 minutes. Said I just needed to replace my front brake pads and maybe rotors for maybe $1,500. I tried to call her to make it right and she refused to give me any kind of a refund. Don't go there unless you want to get ripped off! read more

It was before the Fourth of July my air conditioning went out I was to drive to California for a wedding they changed a fuse put Freon in the next day air conditioning went out and everything locked up for me! I asked them to bring the car in they said they were too busy well of course they were they wanted to get out for Fourth of July weekend I had to borrow a friends car and paid them so I could get to this wedding got back they told me they could do nothing about it and I had to pay another company to redo what they did because all they did was put a Band-Aid on something that was a fix they could've done which was the serpentine BELT so I had to buy a new compressor parts kit belts new fuse new Freon etc. etc. etc. she said sorry and hung up on me !!!!! I will not be going in again ever and will make sure anyone I know will not go there either !!!! I actually was warned by quite a few people not to use them but that was after the fact isn't that always the way so I am now into it for $1000 because they decided to put a Band-Aid on the situation !!!!!! Went there got smog test on both cars. Within ten miles check engine light goes on. My wife takes it there tells service manager he stated he would check it out. Had her sign something not telling her what it is. He then tells her its spark plug and coil #3 and it would be $700 for all of them to be replaced. I get down there after checking. Parts are like $140 online. I brought that to the service mgrs attention and he got quiet. He then stated it would be two guys several hours to work on it. I stated its right under the cover right? He got quiet again. He then stated if I got the parts it would be $360. I then tell him I dont want them working on my car I don't trust him now. He then told me they're is a diagnostic check fee of $107. My wife stated she was told nothing about him charging her. He was completely indifferent. He stated she should have read the signs. I stated there was no signs. I asked for the form she signed. Nothing stated any price. I explained that. He then yelled I dont care, sue me. I go to the office telling reception I want to talk to owners. Service manager comes in arguing with me. He stated if my wife just would have asked him to check to see if they did anything he would have checked it without charging her. I stated that's exactly what she did. He pointed to a tiny paper in the office stating service fee is required. I asked if she went to office? He said no. I stated he didn't tell her it would cost. No signs outside. No price on paper she signed. I paid and asked for reception to note on a copy of my invoice all that transpired and I want to speak to owner. The woman at the counter was very kind. I have gone to those "coupon auto repair" places for years, no, decades. The price is always good but they make you wait way too long only to get an up-sell when they present the charges. Wasted time and annoying up-sell. Auto Specialists in Boulder City is a completely different experience. I recently went to have a transmission fluid change. They gave me a specific appointment time. So far so good. I arrived a bit early. Lee greeted me with a beautiful smile and made me feel like an important customer. (It was just a fluid change...) I brought a pile of paperwork to do while I waited in their very comfortable customer area. Never got to the paperwork; my car was ready before I had finished checking emails!. The bill was exactly as Lee had quoted over the phone AND there was no annoying up-sell! Considering the time saved, the ease of the process, and that welcoming smile, the price was a bargain! I am waiting to see how this turns out, but, Ac system work. Had the car for 6 days to replace the ac compressor after the pully locked up and broke the belt. $1100. later drove the car home and the air does not work. Apparently the compressor they put in was bad and now they have to install a new one and now many other problems have been created from the bad compressor. They will not cover the new issues and told me if I dont like it, Take my f,ing car out of here. Yes this was Brandon the Manager. If this gets taken care of I will give a better review. First off I want to say DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I went for a simple coolent leak and they where able to fix the problem. But when I got my car back it was driving like crap. I did a little investigations and found a part that was broken. the part was no where close to where it was being fixed. I went back to tell them about it and they told me i should have brought the car back. well that was not going to work since I need my car so I have to fix it my self to get to work. After chasing the leaky water pump for a year (adding water every evening), it began leaking profusely earlier this week. I decided to tackle it myself--like I should have done in the first place. After removing the water pump, it became clear I had been swindled to a higher degree than I originally thought. The Ice Queen had assured me when I got the quote that it included only OEM parts, that is to say, brand-new parts from the dealer--not remanufactured or rebuilt parts from god only knows what third-world country and sold by some discount parts store, like Pep Boys or Auto Zone. What I found was that Auto Specialists had put a remanufactured piece of trash on my car. It began leaking from the weep-hole after 8,000 miles--not 60,000 like one might expect from a factory pump. If I had only paid $200 for the repair, I really wouldn't have had much to complain about; but $550? At that price, I paid for a new one and was told I got a new one. Scandalous. I don't like being ripped-off, but I loathe being treated like I'm an idiot. When I'm looked in the eye and told the job was completed as promised and they knew all along they had taken advantage of me, well that really does grate. read more

WOW! I read all these reviews and from my dealings with them wasnt all that bad. My daughters trucks heater core was leaking and iam 9 hours away so i depended on them to fix the problem. I knew what i would do so she could make it back to tempe az where she was from but wanted to see what they would do. She went in there and told them the problem they told her to leave it so they could do a pressure check on it. Yes it was the heater core, and to my surprise they gave her two options to fix it! One to replace the heater core witch she would have to wait three or four days and that wasnt an option then the other was to bypass hose witch i would have done and thats what they did. Little expensive but thats what you pay for the price of being so far away. But they could of just stuck with option one and replaced the heater core witch could have cost 1300.00 and Hotel rooms and a few days off work. But by them doing what they did she made it home didnt miss work and she can take it to her shop to get it fixed!!!!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!!! read more

I highly recommend Auto Specialists. I was traveling from Las Vegas back to Arizona and my transmission acted up near Boulder City. My father had just passed away 4 days prior to my leaving, I was still in shock. So now the car! I called this establishment and talked with Lee, who made me feel better. She told me that they were going to take care of me and they sure did. Top knot has and compassion too! The price tag was steep because of the vacuum valve in the transmission BUT well worth it. This is a very honest repair shop. I had what we thought was a transfer case going bad. But the mechanic (Monte) took the extra time to check out other things before tearing apart the transfer case. He found a vacuum leak and solved the issue in about an hour. A dealership would have tore apart the transfer case and charged me $$$. Great job guys. Thanks read more

Let me start by explaining the fact that, I'm a very picky customer and like to know exactly what is going with the service or product I'm paying for. If you tell me you have the best or you are an expert in such a service. I expect to receive what you lead me to believe you can do. I will put you to the test. If you pass I'm a customer for as long as the service and value are there. All my friend and associates depend on my recommendations on products and services I use. Since they know I always test all products for performance and services for the attention to detail and quality. The place is reminiscent of an old motel. But very clean and with a nice friendly atmosphere. Had the opportunity to meet owners Paul and Lee. Also quite a museum-like display of still and movie cameras. A lot of history in this place. Now to my problems... For close to a year now I had a service warning sign come up, "Service Ride Control", on a Cadillac Escalade 2005. I've checked the internet Cadillac forums, YouTube, etc. Cadillac dealer was prohibited start off price for my budget. Two previous mechanics declined to work on it. One wanted to troubleshoot by changing parts until the problem was solved. It would have cost, $2,500 or higher depending on how many parts they "guess" on being the problem. It would have to leave the truck for a few days. The other suggested to take it to Cadillac since they were the only shop with the diagnostic codes. I found Auto Specialists Boulder City by accident while speaking to another Escalade owner. I live at The Lakes in West Las Vegas. So this place is about 45 minutes to an hour drive. Brandon, service manager. was very helpful and confident they could diagnose the problem and solve it. Just for kicks, I asked to check on an oil leak and other fluids. Also, issues with HID headlight and an aftermarket Halo lights and I've installed some time ago and were not working. They fixed all the problems: 1)Ride Control---Air Suspension Compressor, replaced with a new unit 2)Oil Pressure Sender Switch--- replaced with a new unit 3)Valve Cover Gasket--- replaced with a new unit 4)Inlet and outlet Heater Hose--- replaced with a new unit 5) Repair and re-set wiring for Halo lights. All of these for under $1,500. done the same day (seven hours) In closing... Best Service, Honest, Fair, Friendly, Convenient, knowledgeable, well established solid business!!! Have to say, I have NEVER had an experience with a car repair that went so well. As a woman, I am always ready to take it in the shorts when it comes to my car. The nice people at Auto Specialists proved me wrong. Lee Hagen, made me feel comfortable, explained what they were going to do, and had an employee give me a ride home. HOURS later, she phoned and said they could not find a problem with the car after running many diagnostic tests. My 2012 Mustang was overfilled with Oil after I took it to Wal-Mart. And Wal-Mart told me I needed to replace my battery, I did not replace my battery. I took my car to be looked at by the Auto Specialists. They had my car fixed after a day. They drained all of the extra oil that Wal-Mart filled my car with, and degreased my engine(from the oil getting everywhere, thanks to Wal-Mart). After checking the battery they told me that it was perfectly fine(Wal-Mart must have been trying to rip me off). The Auto Specialist also found a leaking water pump. (unrealted to the incident with Wal-Mart). They did a very reasonable and fair job with replacing the pump and belt. They gave me a car to use, and I had my car back the next day! I will be taking my car back to them from now on! Very happy with the job they do! All of my family uses them, we are all very happy with their work! read more

2-14-2018 ok, I waited a couple days before writing this ... Lee (service mgmt) called me on 2-12-2018, 4 days after I was there, she was informed about the problem with-in 1 hour of when it happened, we talked and she pushed the blame on me 4 times, during the conversation, she stated that they knew about the pump, which was a surprise to me, and would "work with me" to make repairs, but did not talk about any discounts. I do not feel that we made any progress and am fearful of returning to their place for any repairs (parts prices @ almost triple of what anyone could pay for them, Labor rate not stated, just a lump sum for all repairs $513.84 and they tried to charge me $60.00 for " a high pressure cleaning" that I could do in a car wash for $5.00) bottom line - the car leaks more P/S fluid now, than when I first came to their shop. as a retired senior on a budget, this was an important repair for me to take off of my "things to do list". would I recommend this shop?...definitely NO. read more

I move all over the country for work and this is by far the Best mechanic I have ever been to. My wife was comfortable enough to come and drop off the trucks, they always treated her great. We had maintenance and repairs done on a jeep and a diesel truck. Always honest on what needed to be done and what could wait. Nicest people around, my wife would bring the baby along just to see Lee. We have moved from the Vegas area now but would stop by just to say hi on our next trip back.
