The shop worked quick to get us in. I already knew what the issue was and was going to fix it myself, but at 110 degrees and not all the potentially required tools, I didn't really want to start something I didn't want to finish. I had all the parts already, but the shop said they couldn't use it as they warranty their work and have to ensure the source. That was a bummer on my end due to markup vs what I got them for, but in the end I still didn't want to do the work. They warned that my vehicle, an older Jeep, was known for snapping bolts and potentially tripling the work. I knew that, it was one of the reasons I didn't want to deal with it! The shop said they'd try to avoid that issue, and they took care and made it through with no broken bolts. Vince up front and Zach the owner were both very friendly, explained everything, didn't keep tacking on hidden costs, and so far everything is working great. I was referred to Urban Auto Workz by Firestone because I needed specialized helper springs installed on my truck to assist with towing a trailer. I guess it's a spin of the wheel if you will get good service here or not. My usual mechanic was booked up. So I used my trusty yelp to see if I could find an honest reliable, affordable mechanic. So I found this place. So I told him, this is what a mechanic said was wrong with it. My power steering hose was leaking. So I took it in. It cost me $349.00 w/ oil change. (Now my A/C stopped working the day after I got my car from him). Welp, 1 week later, it's still leaking. So they said, ohhhh, well you said it was this hose, and it might be another hose. Ok, so you just lost your honest card! If it wasn't that hose, and you changed it anyway, you were just after $$$ So then they said, oh, one of the other hoses clamps was loose. So they supposed to have tightned it. Well it was still leaking 1 week later. So I took it back in. And he said, ohhh we found out what hose it was. It's going to cost you $130.00. (I got it done for $84.00) At that point, I was done! I didn't want him to touch my car again. Hell, he might have put holes in that along with the damage he did to my A/C hose. No we didn't mention it to him at the time, because I wasn't sure if I was going to let him repair it or not. And I decided not to let him touch my car again. When I took it to the guy to check out my A/C he looked at the hose, and said to me, have you had any work done on your car. I said yes, my power steering hose. He said, we can't prove that they did it, but this is where they were working, and he was the only one that has worked on my car in months, now all of a sudden it's not working! Did they do this on purpose, did they do it on accident? Regardless, they know they did it, and they should have repaired it! So it's like gambling, if you go to them, I wouldn't advice it! And I'm only the dutchess, because I had to take my car backk so many times for the same problem! read more

This is so long overdue. I found Zach randomly on Yelp about a year ago after my truck needed an alternator. It was pretty pathetic having to get towed to a shop...a first for me. Zach's shop was the earliest open and most convenient location. Since that time I have come to trust him as a superb mechanic and a great resource for all my auto questions. I most recently spent a morning getting some work done and even had not one, but two fellow customers absolutely raving about his work. I had an issue with a "sound" coming from my right front wheel. Having done a simple suspension lift and had the alignment done immediately after, I couldn't figure out why it showed itself. I took it to one guy and he said it was my lower ball joint, so I had him repair it. Still didn't fix it. Took it to another guy and told him to go ahead and check camber and toe on the alignment. Said there was an issue with the toe-in and it "could have been the problem"....still didn't fix it. I asked Zack and Mike about it and IMMEDIATELY...they say "it's your wheel bearing". They take it for a 1 minute test ride and confirm. While there, WE looked at the other one too, and decided it was on it's way to being the same problem. They didn't try to upsell me, but instead let me feel the roughness in the other rotor and simply "recommended" I keep an eye out on the other one too. They removed and replaced the two rotor/hub assemblies in about an hour and a half. Car rides 20X better than it did, and considering I can't remember how long it's been riding rougher in the front end, I'm glad these guys were so quick to diagnose. Can't imagine how many MPG I lost running that rough on damaged bearings. Nice guys, and very very helpful. Cannot recommend enough! read more

Today was my second time taking my car to Urban. Again, they did a quick and fantastic job. I had the dreaded check engine light come on my dash a while back and it's almost time to renew registration so had to take care of it soon. They plugged into my car and got the codes that were making my light come on. Had to do with fuel mixture and the manifold pressure sensor. Mechanic rooted around my engine for a few minutes and discovered a vacuum tube had fallen off the sensor. Attached it back on the sensor and problem solved! Only charged for the diagnostic part and nothing for the actual fix. Out of there for $50! Thanks for being honest. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone needing work done. Second time in 2 visits they kept the cost down and helped me out. read more

I have never before experienced an auto mechanic so honest! Zach was highly recommended to me as trustworthy, by my business partner. I brought in my car that I had neglected to maintain properly. I had some expensive repairs, as quoted by another shop. I took it to Urban Auto Workz for confirmation of the assessment, and they concurred. I had agreed to do the repairs and then just before starting the work, Zach informed me that my mileage was low enough that it might still be covered under the manufacture's warranty. So he was so gracious in not charging me and I took it to the manufacturer's dealership and they looked at it and because it was my own neglect declined to cover it, and suggested the most expensive route immediately. But the fact that Zach would even offer that I check with the manufacturer was surprising. And then I brought it back to him and there was a preliminary fix we could try before the super expensive fix and he was open to trying and has done wonders and I'm very happy with my car and he saved me many thousands of dollars versus my other alternatives. Zach is a genius and he has integrity. I would highly recommend the shop. He treats customers like they are customers for life so he doesn't try to maximize his profit for every visit to his shop. I had the pleasure of having a referral to Urban Auto Workz. Zack, the owner, is incredible. I have a 2007 Ford Edge and the water pump went out. Zack took charge, got the parts needed and my vehicle was completed when promised. It has been raining pretty hard the day I picked it up... and yes, I went through a pretty deep section of water. The next day I still had a leak... Zack took the time to look it over and tell me that the water I drove through also had a lot of debris in it... and it did look like a forest underneath the engine area. There is a mesh area there and all the debris collected and holding the water in. He explained to me the main reason NOT to do this again. Feel like I was with family around Zack.
