This 7-11 treated me like a second-rate citizen. So badly that I am tempted to press discrimination charges against this store. I'm not from this area and have been visiting for a few days now. I travel a lot, and everywhere I have been doesn't require you to wear a mask, but instantly when I walked through the door of this store, I was meet with disdain. I was addressed in an intimidating manner, "do you have a mask"? I replied, "I do not," the man behind the counter told me to leave and that he would not be serving me. I said ok and walked away. The same man continued to scold me even as I left, making me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. A mask mandate is not a law, & I'm aware a business can deny service for certain things, but they can not discriminate. That was exactly how this felt. Is this what it's come down to in certain parts of the country. You considered less than because you have a differing position on things. Did this incident require that casher to be so rude? I don't know 7-11's policy; I haven't been in one in almost 10 years. The door had a sign, but it is written like a suggestion, not like a policy or a refusal of service. The polite thing would be to ask me nicely? I'm still the customer, and what happened to the customer always being right. What have we let all this crap turn us into. The media has turned us against each other. What happened to my body, my choice? read more
