Banking with them was great until I applied for a Credit Card through them and they set up auto payment which unbeknownst to me were being paid 2 days late. I called and asked them why and they said "Whoops." Adjusted to pay on time. Too late, my credit was negatively effected. Then, two times vendors double charged / overcharged my account. NF certainly should have alerted me when a large online vendor charged my account $375.18 twice in a matter of 90 seconds. Instead they fought me tooth and nail. Both times, vendors provided written testimony of their mistakes but NF repeatedly found in favor of the vendor. I had to DEMAND that they actually READ the evidence the vendors and myself provided. It took about 2 weeks in both instances for NF fraud dept. to do their job. Very frustrating! I decided it would be safer for my financial safety to close my accounts (savings, checking & credit card) the first week of Feb. But, in late March I got an overdraft notice in the mail saying I owe THEM $9.83. I call, put ON HOLD, then operator explains that the overdraft fee is because there is no money in my account" and I say "That's because NF transferred my money to my new bank when I closed my account six weeks ago." Her response "Your accounts are not closed. How would you like to pay this $9.83?" Me: "I don't owed you $9.83... If anything, YOU owe ME $9.83 for making me go through all this again!" ON HOLD. Account Management picks up and closes Savings and Checking and waives $9.83. ON HOLD again. Have to listed to prerecorded message. Wants to put me ON HOLD to transfer me to Credit Card services! I demand a supervisor . ON HOLD.... Supervisor is apologetic but frustratingly disaffected. Supposedly all my accounts are closed now, but I can't be sure because they're having issues with their website '502 Bad Gateway.' You just can't make this sheezio up!

After having been a member since 1999, I have reached my limits with your level of incompetence. In…read morethose 26 years we have filed less than 5 disputes all typically less than $100. Walmart Auto in E. City charged us for 4 tires they refused to install but took the $1254. anyway. Walmart is refusing to accept responsibility, despite proof that we never received these tires. A fraudulent charge against them was filed with Navy Fed on May 23rd. Despite my loading email after email showing we never got these tires, I have yet to receive a call back from someone in disputes. Almost a thousand dollars has been stolen from us & NFCU doesn't care either. I spoke w/someone at the CS line last night named Casey who I requested that he send an email to his boss regarding my less than satisfactory experience with this. I highly doubt that was even done. It's been almost a month. Someone has stolen my money & Navy Fed is supposed to have our back, but they have clearly drawn a line in the sand that they are on Walmart's side. I know my $52k in their bank are drops of water, but this is an ocean filled with my tears because y'all can't get it together. We are in the process of moving/retiring & buying/selling homes so that $1k can be used in a far more important way. If you value customer service, take your money somewhere else. While in the area, I needed temporary checks for our account. Found this Navy Federal branch…read morenearby. They took care of our financial needs quickly and courteously. Great service level overall. What really caught my attention was this NFCU branch's attention to customer & staff health and safety. Staff at the door to direct traffic, making sure customers maintain social distancing. A staff person dispensed hand santiser to each customer entering the lobby. The person asked customers what services they required. If a customer needed a credit union officer's services, the staff person took the customer's phone number so the customer could wait in the car until the officer was ready. If a teller could handle the customer's needs, the customer went in when social distancing allowed. Blue tile markings clearly indicated distances. When I got to teller, I saw a tape fence made sure the teller were six feet or so apart. Between us, a little table with a PIN pad and a tray with a pen. Nicely set up. I don't know when I'll be back in the area, but I now know where I go for my credit union services.
