I call on the phone and they already know who I am and what I like to order, salmon rice bowl with no sauce. The service is top-notch. They are always making sure that it's done right or even show me my food before they put it in the bag to make sure that I'm satisfied and if not, they will make it right which they never had to do that and I just love it. I hear other items on the menu is really good too especially their wings. However I have not tried them personally because once I had this, it was just no way that I could give anything else a chance.

We had a 20 minute wait which is totally understandable on a busy Friday night as a walk in. We sat and waited for our food. I was so hungry, I forgot to take a picture before I tried my food. My catfish dinner was fried to my liking, the fries are fresh cut and so delicious. My hushpuppies was delicious. My family tried the polish boy and the steak Philly and we all ate in silence. The portion size was great. We all have food left over. I can't wait to return. It just might be my new favorite small food point. It is black owned as well. I didnt get a dessert this time, because self control but next time, I'm going all in...lol. Great job Teedeez!

Northstar comes highly recommended by a catering friend as a reliable, go-to place. We arrived and were second in line to order. I'm not wild about their queue up-order/pay-take a pager approach but last night was effortless. We sat on the little patio fronting Warrensville Center Road and enjoyed the hustle bustle of a busy Friday night. We had ordered the thai burrito with chicken and a cola. We self served our drinks and when the food was served we were extremely excited. The presentation was lovely and the portion was generous, including the baked chips. After the first bite, we were hooked. Delicious. Tasty (including the side of peanut sauce). With delightful textures. The chicken was perfectly cooked. We could only eat half and took the rest home. Looking forward to a reprise. Live music was starting soon but we headed over to the VAD plaza for their weekend offering. Verdict? A great eat-in experience we will soon repeat.

Casual service meets fantastic food in an environment perfect for families & groups of friends…read more Each time I visit Northstar Cafe I love it more (and wish more deeply it would expand to a Westside location). For brunch, my go to is the biscuits and gravy. The gravy has a good heat to it and the biscuits are flaky and buttery. For lunch, the buddha bowl and chicken & avocado sandwich are both elevated classics. My husband raves about the fish sandwich - and the salad that comes as a side is anything but simple. When you enter, you'll order with the cashier and then find a seat with your number. Typical counter service - but what makes Northstar special is that the interior feels more like fine dining and the food is much much better than your standard fare. Worth a trip for its own merits, the fact that it's located in a nice shopping area is also a draw, especially for a weekend when you want to have a leisurely stroll.

When we were seated, our waitress brought us some cold water in glasses and gave us menus. I felt like trying some bourbon, so I requested Larceny. There were a lot of tasty looking options on the menu, but I ultimately settled on salmon. My wife requested cod, and my son requested the rib dinner. The ambience of the place was nice. The waitress was friendly and there was a car show outside, which was cool. It didn't take long for our food to be cooked. My fish was hot off the grill, had a wonderful crispy finish, and was cooked to my specification. The salmon was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes it was served on. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. I was craving more. Everyone enjoyed their meals and with great service, we agreed that this could be a place we visit when we're in the area. Great stuff!

This time, I brought my family along for lunch, and it did not disappoint! We took advantage of their happy hour specials, which included half-off pizzas, select appetizers, and drinks. We started with the Street Corn Nachos and added grilled chicken. They were absolutely incredible--easily some of the best nachos we've ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was delicious. We also ordered the whipped feta, which was simply divine and a must-try. For our entrées, one person ordered the pepperoni pizza and really enjoyed it. I had the sausage pasta, which was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly light while still being incredibly satisfying. The third entrée was the Thai noodles , and it was another hit. Everyone commented on how fresh and well-prepared their meal was. The service, as always, was impeccable. We were greeted immediately and seated right away. What really stands out about this restaurant is the teamwork. Everyone pitches in, whether it's bringing out food, clearing plates, or noticing your water glass is getting low. It doesn't matter if they're your server or not--they make sure you're taken care of, and that level of hospitality really makes a difference. The restaurant is also spotless, and I love that the open kitchen allows you to watch the team preparing the food. It adds to the overall experience and shows how much care goes into every dish. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or happy hour, this place consistently delivers. Great food, outstanding service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a beautiful space make this one of my favorite restaurants in the Cleveland area. If you're visiting the Pinecrest area, do yourself a favor and make this a stop--you won't regret it!

What makes Scratch's French toast so good is that they don't use plain old white bread for it. Instead, they use sweet bread pudding, which makes for an utterly decadent and delicious breakfast. The pieces of bread pudding had crisp edges while being soft on the inside. They were topped with sliced bananas and a rich bourbon caramel sauce, and served with maple syrup infused whipped cream that was almost practically ice cream. The French toast also comes with your choice of sausage or pork belly. I opted for the sausage patties, which were tasty and homemade. I also ordered the orange juice ($4.50) and home fries ($3.75). The home fries were delicious. Crispy potato chunks that were the right amount of salty. Between the French toast and home fries, I left stuffed. Service was also great. My server was very friendly and welcoming, and came to check on me a couple of times. Notes - it's a small place with a couple of tables, but I was able to take a seat right away on a Friday morning. Every table comes with 2 bottles of hot sauce - a red sauce and green sauce. You pay at the cash register after you get your check.

I met a friend for breakfast this morning, and everything from start to finish was spot on. I ordered the Sweet Jalapeño Sandwich: an English muffin piled with jam, bacon, an egg cooked over medium, and cheddar, served with home fries. It was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and just a little kick. My friend stuck with her usual: the Banana & Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding French Toast, topped with fresh bananas and their homemade bourbon caramel sauce, plus a side of pork belly. It looked incredible and, according to her, tasted just as good as it always does. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened at 8:00 and were seated right away. The service was friendly, attentive, and very prompt without feeling rushed. Scratch has such a great casual, local diner feel, but with a menu that's anything but ordinary.
