Damage was severe enough that the car had to be towed. Fortunately, no one was injured. Fast forward roughly four weeks and I reclaimed my car today. It was exactly what I expected: impeccably repaired with a paint job--thanks to master painter and WBS owner Danny Avalos, Jr.--that matched the original finish perfectly. While four weeks seemed overly long, my insurance company's adjustor and appraiser were responsible for most of the delay. Throughout the process, shop manager Eric Villa keep me apprised. a long review but: Stick with me on this one, ok guys?…read more First off- these men are great to talk with. I just went back to Perfection for my thirdddd time to have them do work on my Kia. They were able to work within my schedule and my timing which was nice (thank you!!!) - But i left this time around not feeling not sure that I'll continue to use them. They had done previous work on my car which did NOT hold up, due to the error of whoever painted my car last time (the other gentleman Bob stated to me that there was a missing step in the order of the paints/sealants they put on last time bc it should not have chipped and eroded away so badly in only ~1.5 (max 2) years time. Even if there was an "inciting" event like "a rock" that "peeled it away". Ok. ...So anyway, after this past winter season I inquired if they could fix their work for me, for free. They agreed. I had other work to get done on my car, so i thought hey, I'll make it worth their while and pay them to do extra work while they fix what they said they would for free. Right? Hopefully yall are following my logic here. He provided me two estimates. One for the work I'd pay to do ($1944). Then- The "free" work estimate, I asked for him to work up a quote on that just so I could get an idea / gauge of their prices-- if I wanted to keep coming back to them. This quote was, in his words as well, $1100. So- By his logic, for him to fix the part of my car where their poor job was before- which was, at most, 7 inches of peeling paint, he said that would have been $1100. thu: to fix my ENTIRE whole front bumper & undercarriage was $1900, (so in theory as two separate jobs, the bigger one is "only" $800 more?? with literal new parts?) so his estimates did NOT make sense to me. Oh and, the final I paid today was +$4.00 from what he originally quoted me. I don't mean to split hairs so I didn't gripe. And- they didn't even use the protective floor mats this time nor did they vacuum my driver seat floor (I could see their dirty footprints). Sure there's probably things I'm not understanding as to how they do their business but... I just paid $4 more from their estimate and most likely just covered their CC merchant processing fees while receiving my interior back dirtier than it was before. ... His exact words to be going into this were "It will all most likely be less than the estimate, I will let you know once we get the car in and parts off!" Not once did he touch base w me before moving forward w the work. I had to call him ...I digress. Just make sure you are vigilant & stay on top of them and communicate every step of the way. Unless you have a couple extra hundred(s) to play around with. I didn't want to be a pest to them and call every day for the week they had my car- John always sounded hurried on the phone as I do understand they're busy. But I'm not sure how I feel after this experience. I will most likely do the rest of my car repairs in my hometown at a non-Cook County price gouge. TLDR: Good guys, good work- if you have the $ & to maybe have to come back and have their work repaired, or ya know. Everything else I said.
