I decided to take my brand new car here for tints because of all the yelp reviews and apparently on their website they state that they are known for "being one of the best."
The customer service was good. They dropped me off at the Hillsdale mall and then picked me back up. It was a raining day, so I could not clearly check my car for any issues. Everything seemed fine until the next day. There was a scratch on my window that I had not noticed until I got my windows tinted. I will state that Mike told me that putting tints on my windows will show any imperfection such as a scratch. The thing is, I know for a fact that I did not have any window scratches on my window. I am constantly checking my car to see if anything has happened to it and that scratch was not there until I brought my car in for tints. They also cut the weather stripping on one window, and I have bits of weather stripping sticking out.
I did email Jeff about the situation and we rescheduled an appointment a week later because Jeff told me to bring my car in so he can check it out. I knew it may take up to 4 weeks for window tints to cure, but during this curing process I had so many air bubbles and there is a lot of lint and dust underneath my window tint. I took my previous cars to other window tinting shops and I never had these issues but, Jeff and Mike did the worst job. I never had so many air bubbles on any of my tints. When I finally went to Jeff for my appointment, he was in complete denial about the window scratch and the weather stripping. Jeff was speechless on the weather stripping. He had nothing to say when I pointed it out. He says he does not cut tints on the car, but there is no way I could have received a window scratch that looks like it was cut using a blade, and no way my window weather stripping would have been cut up. I talked to some other tint shops and they said it was either cut with a blade or they misused their squeegee which could have caused the scratch. Also, this scratch is deep, if you run your fingernail through it, it will catch your fingernail. Jeff also said that something might've been stuck in between my window felt and window. Even if something was stuck in my window felt, it would not have made that deep of a scratch. It's also been raining a lot these past two months and I have only rolled down my window a hand full of times, and even if I rolled down my window, I never rolled it all the way down to where the scratch is. Plus, the scratch would be longer than what it is if something were stuck between the window and the window felt. If something was really stuck then why is the scratch so inconsistent? You can clearly tell it is a fresh scratch and that it was done during the tint process.
I told Jeff about some air bubbles and he said that they will remove the air bubbles. Mike was the one who removed the air bubbles and he did a good job for the most part. He got most air bubbles out, except one on the back windshield. It was a pretty big air bubble and when he finished, it became two tiny air bubbles. Not sure if he could have removed the tiny air bubbles without ripping the tint off and retinting the window. I also told him about a small air bubble to which he replied "It's small anyways, it's not like anyone will see it." There is no point in life time warranty if it is a nuisance to get the air bubbles removed from your tints.
Overall, I would never recommend this shop to anyone. It seems like a lot of yelp hype and If you want to spend $400-$500 on a whack tint job then go ahead. You can probably find a better shop that will cost around $300 and get better quality. Now, my brand new car has a scratch on the driver side window and Jeff will not own up to his own mistake because he knows this is not an easy fix. Oh yeah, don't even bother signing the receipt. If you do sign it then they can deny you any damages they do to your car, hence why Jeff will not admit to scratching my window. Own up to your mistake, just because you have all this yelp hype doesn't mean you can go damage someones window and say it's not your fault. read more
