I used the check from the hail damage to pay the deductible and had enough left to pay off the balance I had due on my loan. I wouldn't have even known that were an option without help from the Caliber staff. Six months later, my car was totaled by a jerk who ran through a green stop light who was supposed to yield. Ugh. Flash forward to a little over a week ago. My boyfriend's truck was rear ended by, surprise, an uninsured driver. While fixing the tailgate, they fixed an old dent for super cheap. Scheduled a time to drop it off. They replaced the parts, but now I have drip marks and spots all over the inside of my car. It has been nothing but a hassle. I watched Robbie damage my roof liner; I am sure they should have allowed him in the shop to remove panels and drop my headliner the right way instead of ruining it. Their claim to fame is a lifetime warranty on their work as long as they are in business, but with their third manager, Robbie, they will not be in business much longer. I am very dissatisfied with this body shop; the paint is pretty good, but everything else is not great. Do not expect to get an estimate once your car is held hostage. Aaron with @ProgressiveInsurance is also pretty much useless; he guaranteed me that they would install a SoundShield windshield, but they did not. I am just tired of dealing with this facility; did the damage to my vehicle outweigh the quality of the paint when there were many other repairs that fell within their purview? My mirror actually had to be replaced by @SafeliteGlass because they specialize in removing mirrors when replacing windshields, while this shop apparently does not have the right tools to do its job. Oh, and I forgot to mention that when they had all my body parts off, they had them thrown over my rear seat with no protection to my interior. They didn't even clean the glass afterwards. After getting estimates from maybe 6 shops, these guys seemed just a little more engaged and/or honest than the others--for a fair price. Throughout the entire process, I spoke with several employees who were all patient, professional, and kind. During the repair, I was sent several updates--with pictures--and the communication was excellent. Ice storms caused a short delay (delayed parts arrival, etc), but I was kept updated through texts, emails, and phone calls. My fender was damaged in a hit-and-run, but it now looks as good as new with perfectly blended paint too. Plus, the interior of my car came back cleaner than when I brought it in (the cupholders were even cleaned), with a plastic mat placed over my driver's side floor mat. Definitely my new go-to auto repair.

When I later visited the shop and asked to speak with the owner about my concerns, I was told I could not speak with him because he was busy. When I attempted to explain the issues I had experienced, Stephanie became defensive and eventually walked away from the conversation without addressing my concerns. I understand that body shops are busy and stressful environments, but customers deserve to be treated with respect when asking reasonable questions about their vehicle and insurance claim. We both received two estimates and both shops were within $50 of each other. Since Flair was on my insurance company's preferred list we both chose them. The first problem was encountered by my friend. Because of employee and scheduling issues, it took Flair an additional 2 days to repair the small dent in his vehicle. He later received a call from Enterprise that the Flair was refusing to pay the additional 2 day on his rental car, even though it was their fault the vehicle was not ready in a timely manner. I contacted my insurance company who then contacted Flair and worked it out. Flair will now pay the extra 2 days. This should have never been an issue. I dropped my car off for the repairs and when it was time to pick it up, the actual bill for the repair was nearly double that of the estimated. Flair's comment was the overage would go to the insurance company and not out of my pocket. To me, that is not the point. They are the professionals, so how do they miss the actual cost of the repair by 84%. There was no body or hidden damage to my car; only paint. Given the fact that I had 2 estimates that were very close, I have a difficult time understand why it nearly doubled. It's for reasons such as this consumers are skeptical of the auto repair industry. Hopefully I will never again require the services of a body shop, but if I do, it certainly will not be with Flair.
