So I've attempted to get a quote twice from this place with no response, which is surprising with such good reviews. I don't like giving bad reviews, but yikes... you're losing business just by not returning calls! My first attempt at getting a quote, it went to voicemail in the middle of the day so I left a message with my contact info, car make/model, what I needed done (just as it prompted me to) and never got a call back. A rock hit my windshield over the weekend and left a chip on the lower part of the windshield. My insurance which is Mercury doesn't cover the expense of having it repaired (so I'm looking to transfer to Progressive!), so I called and yelped around, and found this place. I brought my car here today and it was done within 30 mins (or less). It cost me $50. The repair is not supposed to lessen the visibility of the chip, but it honestly looks like the chip is gone- so I'm satisfied with what they have done. Thank you to all the staff! P.S. These guys really are the best. I was in town for a few days with a rental car (a smart car) and the window got smashed by a thief. I called the Mercedes Benz dealer and was told they could not help. I called Mark and he came to where I was, and did everything he could to fix it, despite getting the wrong glass from the dealers (not Mark's fault) and then replacing everything twice! Mark and Ladawn (sp?) are awesome! They're professional, flexible, communicative, and very responsive. My poor car was broken into over the weekend, and the rear window completely smashed. I called Auto Glass Express first thing Monday morning and Ladawn promptly got me a very reasonable quote and told me that Mark would definitely get to me that day. A few hours later, he showed up at my place and took care of the window in an hour! The new window looks great, and he even vacuumed out the backseat to make sure there was no bits of broken glass left. I never thought I could love a mobile windshield replacement company so much. But now I do. And that is because of Ladan and her husband Mark. What an amazing team they are. I needed my windshield glass replaced -- and it was raining. No problem, they said. What? Wow... They met me at a location in Berkeley that was covered & dry, drove me back to work, and came to pick me up when the glass was done. I've been driving the car with the new glass for 2 weeks now and it is perfect. I know that many people say never to have your auto glass replaced by a mobile service -- but those people don't know what they're talking about because they obviously never used Auto Glass Express. He came to me which was great and their prices were as reasonable and competitive as shops I'd called that I'd have to come to myself. My small quarter panel glass on my brand new Prius was busted last night in an attempted break-in, and I was told by the dealership that they couldn't do the install. After checking Yelp, I called Auto Glass Experts, provided my VIN, and they called to arrange ordering the part. I got an immediate call back confirming that they could get the part and made an appointment to come out to my office tomorrow (for no additional fee!) to replace it and they even gave me a really reasonable quote for the part and labor (I already knew how much the part cost). However, it turns out the dealership was wrong and they could have it fixed today, so I called and regretfully cancelled my appointment, because I didn't want to roll around the Town with busted glass. But I will definitely use Auto Glass Express next time I need any other glass repaired, because I was so impressed with their customer service for taking such good care of me (and for their great Yelp reviews, of course). I received a quote and shopped around with other company's and found that this place was competitively priced. I made an appointment for the same day. I work nearby so the very sweet lady said I could drop my car off at anytime and if they have any cancellations they could work on my car. Well they did a great job. While waiting for my afternoon appt. my other window was smashed. I know, what are the odds. One of the most pleasant and efficient business exchanges I have had in a long time. Driver window smashed, bummer. Called Auto Glass at 9am, gave them the make and model of my car, representative said that new glass was really expensive but she would try and find me a used piece for cheaper (love that!). Found one, called me back, set up a time for 4:30, they came to my apartment (huge plus) and fixed it by 5:30 for $184 dollars. The technician that came out was totally great to work with too, very friendly and professional. After the first couple of calls, I also was able to text with the representative when we were figuring out a time, which made the whole thing super efficient. Great prices, wonderful service. Family owned, If only every business operated with the same care, kindness, and professionalism. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended. My van was vandalized, window was shattered. I filed a claim with my insurance company. The insurance company referred me to several places, all of them were available few days after. What a useless and waste of time to work with insurance company referrals!! Then, I looked up on Yelp, and found these guys. They said if I drive to their shop they'll take me on the same day. And, mobile service will be available the next day. I opted for the mobile service. They charged me additional $15 for mobile service since I was out outside of (Castro Valley) their free mobile service area.The technician (Elver; very kind fellow) arrived before the appointment time. Installed the new window within hour. Vacuumed the van thoroughly. The cost was much less than the insurance company referrals, even less than my deductible!! read more

My 2018 BMW got broken into over the weekend :( I called multiple places who couldn't help me as the car is so new and hard to find a real BMW replacement (or weren't open due to the coronavirus) including the BMW dealership who quoted me close to a $1,000 for the replacement. Other places weren't able to get me the real deal or said it would take a while for them to order it. Auto glass express was so amazing to work with. They ordered the glass from BMW, picked it up, and replaced my glass all within a few hours. They even cleaned the inside of my car and cleared out all the glass. It's really nice when a place lives up to its reviews. My car got broken in to last friday night, really obnoxious thing to discover at 4 in the morning, laptop and brand new messenger bag gone. The next day, after I had slept off the anger and stress of the previous night, I called up my insurance company who gave me three companies they recommended. I called all three, and no one picked up. Then I called all three again, two were left ringing (12noon on a saturday) and the third picked up and said they were open. After about 15 minutes of going through the process, giving them insurance numbers, police reports, etc, they said 'great, now the earliest we can send someone out is wednesday, when would work for you?'. Excuse me? You just made me sit there for 15 minutes giving you all my info and the earliest you (a company that was 7 miles away from me) could come out was in 3 and a half days? So, to yelp I went, and this place popped up at the top. I called them up, and within 30 seconds they had set up a time for someone to come out within an hour. They didn't ask for much information, just that I tell my insurance company to call them (so the two companies could hash out the details). The man who came out, Mark, was incredibly professional, cordial, and, above all, kind. After a very long day of dealing with the police, insurance, and repair companies, having someone carefully and plainly explain how the process would go in a gentle and kind manner is a breath of fresh air. He stayed working on the windows well past 6pm (on a saturday), and came out a later day (he would have come out the next day, but I was busy) to finish the windows. I sincerely wish I could rate more than 5 stars. It's ironic that their business is of a type that I hope I never have to deal with again -- but if the unfortunate situation of a broken window arises again, I will undoubtedly be calling Auto Glass Express. read more

I went to the place and expected to wait for several days for this to be handled as it seemed like the service was a popular place which is reflected in Yelp as well. As I explained I was a 1st time customer and my situation, they quickly began working on my problem ASAP and finished it within 10-15 minutes... they were very quick and accurate in identifying and insisting me that my insurance should be able to cover the cost for their work, which was correct. There's a reason this business has 105 5-star reviews (including mine) out of 107. It's easy to judge a business when everything goes right. But true colors come through in how they behave when something goes wrong. I was replacing my front windshield for purely aesthetic reasons. Over 100,000 miles, the thousands of tiny impacts add up to cloud clear viewing, diffusing headlights and low-angled sunlight into an annoying glare. Appointment was made and windshield installed quickly and at a reasonable price. However, after driving for awhile, I noticed a defect in (what I presumed was) the manufacture of the glass, a "ripple" aberration that distorted the view slightly when looking out the direction of the passenger side. Small, but noticeable to me. I called, and they told me to bring it back over. Mark inspected it and immediately saw what I was talking about. He replaced the glass the next day with a slightly more expensive windshield from a different manufacturer. No denial, no hassle, no delay- there was a problem, and it was handled quickly and professionally. That's customer service. That's why their ratings are off the charts. read more
