The worse car buying experience of my life! I have bought several used cars over the years. You come to expect small issues when you buy used. If you have to do brakes or tires... No biggie! But... When you buy a used vehicle and have to sink thousands into it in the first few weeks, that is unacceptable! I tried to get Peter to work with me and meet me halfway on the repair costs. He was only worried about his bottom line! I was hoping he was compassionate enough to understand that I just paid him a fair price for a vehicle only to be burdened with multiple repair costs... If you like being stereotyped when coming to buy a car, then this is the place for you! This dealership is a joke. The salesman who "helped" me was disrespectful, condescending (as if I don't know the details of the car I came to buy), dressed sloppily in some T-Shirt, and overall one of the worst car salesman I have ever encountered. Not only does this dealership "Not allow test drives", but they also lie! I can say that truthfully, because I've actually bought a car here before, and guess what, I TEST DROVE IT! So the salesman was 100% lying directly to my face, an admirable trait when you are thinking of signing a contract with someone. No risk on them at all. The best line this con artist could give me was the classic "the next buyer will appreciate less people driving the car". Did it over occur to you that I was planning to potentially be the next owner? Or did you not pick that up when a customer walked into your dealership specifically for ONE car. I could maybe understand if I was some 18 year old in a beater showing up to drive a Ferrari with no income. This is not the case with me. I am a 30 year old man with excellent credit and income, who has previously purchased a car of the SAME value from your dealership. I'm glad to see this is how you treat your returning customers, or any customers for that matter (see other reviews for a great laugh at how many times this place does this). It shouldn't matter what car anyone buys, or who is buying it in the first place, this is a matter of your disrespect. Went in after emailing specifically about doing a test drive. I was denied and told that I could only drive that car if I was ready to purchase right after. On top of that the behaviour of Steve, the person I spoke to, was unprofessional and outright rude. Really good experience from beginning to end. I knew the car that I wanted before I got there, but didn't call ahead - still as soon as I got there they moved cars around so I could take the car for a spin. I fell in love with the car and decided to get it right there and then. Steve made the whole process very smooth and what I really appreciated is that it's a no BS approach to selling the car. They are very upfront with the pricing and therefore there's not the usual back and forth. Due to the high end and not common inventory they carry, they are confident in their pricing and if you've done your research beforehand you'll know it's good. I love my ML63 AMG, but when I eventually get tired of it I'll certainly go back to Auto Gallery to get my next fun ride. read more

There were no suprises with the 25 year old vehicle. In addition, they were able to arrange a closed transport to my residence and the vehicle arrived the next day after purchase. The shipping costs were very close or matched all other transport companies I talked to prior to purchase. I asked many many questions about the vehicle prior to making an offer, and staff was pleasant and did not hesitate to answer any and all of my inquiries. I did also check the VIN on this vehicle through several vehicle history sites, including CARFAX.....there were no major issues on the car, as Auto Gallery had stated. I get this high-pressure sales dude telling me "I've got three guys really interested and even though I just put up the pictures and listed the car a day ago (true), I doubt the car will remain unsold 3 days from now" (false). The car is still visible on their website, unsold, 2 1/2 weeks after its initial listing. They also didn't have any books or records on the car. I am very dissatisfied with my purchase from the Auto Gallery Chicago. Sebastian led me to believe that the car I was buying was in excellent condition and did not need any work. I've had the BMW 5 Series for only two months and I've already dropped $5K into it on maintenance, repairs, snow tires (which is the only cost I expected to put into the vehicle) and detailing. This car looked great in the showroom, however the problems started rolling in just after purchase. When I bought the car it was August so the AC was on, once I turned it off, the car was consistently sputtering/jerking when at stop lights, the check engine light came on soon after. Another BMW certified mechanic informed me that this car was in a serious need of a tune up, oil change, not to mention the detail job was horrific with severe wax build up all over the vehicle and swirls on the hood and trunk costing me another $150 to be professionally detailed. Just after purchase, driving the car I noticed a very annoying clicking noise coming from the a/c -heat vents. The blower motor was bad, another $700+ for taking apart the dash to replace the fan. It's one problem after another. I was dazzled by the looks of this car in the showroom and never would have thought all of these issues would occur in such a short period of time. Test drove 4 miles then on the drive home 30 miles later, the engine started missing. My son finds the car he wants, couldn't test drive it that night because it was boxed in, so they made an appointment for him to come back in the morning to drive it and purchase it. 30 minutes before his appointment, they call him to tell him they just sold the car out from under him! Wouldn't the proper and ethical thing to do would be to tell the second customer that someone else is coming in for the car but they would call my son to check and see if he was still coming for it?! Everyone there was nice and friendly the test drive was important and all questions were answered,purchase price was very reasonable for both sides with no stress very comfortable! the warehouse is full of high end autos and suvs with some extreme vehicles as well,which is what I wanted Steve was my salesman and he was polite and courteous as well as enthusiastic, after the papers were signed and dated it was absolutely incredible everyone there was very happy for me! those guys are good people truly they handled me with respect and integrity. I have been to countless dealerships in my past and this was probably one of the most pleasant car shopping experiences I have ever had. My parents went to the 2014 Chicago Auto Show and they fell in love with the ML350. That night I helped them do some research and we found the perfect ML on Ebay! Come to find out it was a local dealership that was selling it. That night we submitted the online credit form and we received an approval call the following morning. The truck is beautiful (c'mon its a Benz) and we are super happy with our purchase. Auto Gallery has all of its cars inside a climate controlled storage facility and you don't have to deal with any rain/snow/heat/cold while car shopping (There was about a foot of snow on the ground that day). All of the people at Auto Gallery were really awesome! They made us feel as if we had been buying cars from them for years! Sebastian, Steve and Peter were all great! They weren't pushy and were upfront and honest from the beginning. The price for the truck was unbeatable. We did a 250 mile radius search for this truck and Auto Gallery had by far the best price, we couldn't pass up the offer. We will definitely go back to buy more cars from them when the time comes!! I was there for less than 10 minutes and my first impression was not a good one. The guy that greeted us was very nice and polite. We asked to see a black 2013 VW Passat SE that we saw parked in the customer lot. First he was unable to open the car with the remote because "the battery must be low and it needs to be taken to the VW dealer to get fixed". Secondly the car was a mess both inside and out (I looked in it before going inside the actual place). Upon opening the door I noticed some marks on the door frame. Someone had obviously broken into this car. Also, the door panel was falling off and he stated that it "must be a clip that came off". Based on these facts I would definitely not do business with this dealer. You will get that feeling of "something is not right" as soon as you walk in to the place. Let me say that I have been looking for some fun second car but have not decided on the exact model - BMW M3 or 135i etc. So I saw an older BMW at this dealer and went to see the car. Carfax was stating no accident but when I looked at it clearly it has been hit from behind as the rear bumper had 1" gaps where it connects to the under body, hmmm... Anyways - I'm not too picky at this price range but hate to be made fool of. Then the guy tells me how they buy the best car from good regions California etc.. - making small talk I suggest that this is good because they don't have rust problems.. he tells me "These cars don't rust!" Hahaha - seriously e46 don't rust, huh? Alright - so I ask can we take a test drive and he tells me that unless I'm ready to buy the car now and then he is not doing test drives as he has a lot of cost in buffing the cars. I decided to give him one last chance - and said that I'm looking and considering several cars so it is up to him if he wants to persuade me for his one. He said "Go take a look at the other ones and then come here". Needless to say he's not going to get my business and I felt that others need to be warned so that they don't waste time with this dealer. No, I am not a shill for this Dealer! I purchased a 23 year old Mercedes 300CE back in November of 2013 with 175,000 miles on it. The car looked like it had been well maintained; lots of new parts under the hood, new tires all around, clean interior. I am mechanically inclined, so the mileage was not as important as the condition of the car. I have put over 5,000 miles on it since. Replaced the brake pads myself in February. The car runs perfectly! What else can I say? Got a great deal, they gave me two weeks to come up with the money, because I was low on cash at the time. I'm going to be in the market for another used Benz soon, and I look forward to seeing what they have in their inventory at that time. They came across as an honest, straightforward business. I would describe my experience with this business as completely unprofessional. I called about a Audi and asked if I could come in for a test drive and they agreed. I drove about a hour to the warehouse where they are located. Within 45 seconds of clearing the front door I was asked if I was looking to buy today. I said that I was planning on buying within the next week or two. I was informed by the sales associate that they would not allow a test drive. According to the associate "The way we do things here is we work out a price then we go for a test drive. So if you're not totally sure you want to buy this car we're not taking it out. I mean we just can't have people coming in and driving cars to see if they like them...." I wouldn't have believed this if it didn't happen to me. They are experts in bait-n-switch techniques. One the worst car buying experiences of my life and I have bought a few in my time. I was interested in a couple of cars, so I called in to inquire about their availability. I was told by "Peter" that they were available. I made an appointment with "Peter" to come take a look. When my friend and I got to their showroom, which by the way has a chop shop feel to it, I was told "Peter" was busy. Another snake-oil salesmen, I mean salesman will help me. From the onset I could see this guy had some issues. His ego was complete opposite to his stature. Somebody was compensating for some "short" givings. He told me that they had already sold one and there was a deal pending on the other. But was still willing to sell it to me at price equal or higher than the supposedly offer he already had. Talk about having no scruples. The cars are packed like sardines in this "showroom", so you can forget about test driving anything. The salesmen will talk down to you. Forget about any research you may have done, they will make you throw it out of the window for their cars, but when it comes to your trade-in, don't even try. All the prices are greatly inflated. That's standard for this industry. This salesman told me that anything and everything I read on Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, Truecar, etc. is all bunch of crap and that whatever he's telling me is correct. After all he there for my well being. He stopped short of telling me that he is on the board of all the luxury automakers. Told me I wasted my time doing research was for naught and that his word the gospel when it came to car buying and selling. C'mon give me a break. News flash, if someone who walks into your chop-shop, I mean, showroom, who is willing to spend 35K - 50K, try to give that person(s) some respect and listen to them. Don't treat them like you are doing them a favor by them selling your car. The sad part is when another friend of fine went the showroom, as an experiment to see if this would happen again, guess what, they gave him the same treatment. What a bunch of a-holes. To the owners of Auto Gallery Chicago, please spend some time and resources training your salesmen on etiquettes of treating people with respect. Enjoyed the initial contact with salesman Steve. He answered all my questions about the vehicle I was interested in. He also showed me the via face time the imperfections of the car. I offered a price that he accepted. I received a purchase agreement, signed and promptly returned via internet--all within 2 hours time and completed by 1 pm. I asked Steve if there is anything else I needed to do to ensure the car is mine. He assured me the vehicle was mine. I sent my flight info and intended to pick up the vehicle on site five days later. At 11:30 the same night of the transaction i received a short e mail stating the car had sold later the same day for full price ! I called for an explanation--stating of course that I have a contract for purchase in hand. Steve told me that it was sold on E bay and he couldn't risk that relationship--they were too busy during the remainder of the day to cancel the e bay bid on the same vehicle. I really wonder why the e mail stated sold for full price and not accidentally on E bay. Steve claims to have talked to E bay resolution--and I'm screwed. I covered every base and yet the cat with the more $ gets the cat. The right thing to do would have been to honor my contract. Buyers from out of town beware--show up same day with the cash in hand or get the shaft. read more
