AUTO FIELD CORP HAS COST ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND MAJOR HEADCHES!!!
When I first purchased the car, they told me that they were going to send it to the factory to make sure everything was great on it and to replace some things that had been recalled. (By the way, they did not even let me test-drive the car until I had my down payment in hand!!) I was to pick up my car on Monday. Monday came and the car was not yet at their dealership. Tuesday, then Wednesday. Mind you, I I already paid for it the previous Saturday so now I was worried that I paid for a car that I might not ever get. At this point, I started thinking it was a scam and that I lost my money with no car to show for it. To top it off, the guy who sold me the car went on vacation and did not even tell me that someone else would be handling the rest of my transaction. I raised a huge fuss, I called them, I went over there so that they would know I was serious. Finally Thursday came and I told them that I wanted to get my money back and cancel the transaction. Of course the guy told me he did not know how to do that because remember: my actual salesman had gone on vacation so this wasn't the other guy's sale anyway!
Finally, Thursday night, they delivered the car to me and could not put the front license plate on because it is a Eurpoean car or something. Fine. They told me to place the license plate on the dashboard and in the morning get someone from a garage to put the plate on for me. All the shops were already closed because it was after 5. The next morning, on my way to the garage, I noticed that I had gotten a ticket for improperly displaying my front license plate! Of course I fought and appealed, explaining exactly why the license plate was not where it was supposed to be. To no avail. I got stuck paying a $65.00 ticket.
Then I got pulled over because a cop noticed that my license plate did not match my current registration. So I got slapped with a $200 ticket that I have to go to court to prove it was not my fault. Auto Field had told me that they took care of the registration and the papers were coming in the mail. Neither of it was true! I had to make another visit to Auto Field, one month later (!) when they realzied that the paperwork for my regsistration never went through! Who were these quacks and how did they let something like this slip through the cracks?? It's because my salesman went on vacation with out making sure that all the pending paperwork went through all right. Now I have to go to court to fight this.
One headache after another and so much stress!!! The last time I had to go over there for them to finally give me new license plates, I met another customer of theirs who could not help but complain to me about the hurdles they were making him jump through and how unsatisfied he was. They were making him pay for repairs that needed to be done on the new car he purchased before releasing the car to him!
I am a new buyer and my naivete and inexperience really made me overlook this poor excuse for this dealership. If I can help at least one person out there to learn from my story then I would be very happy. My experience was not a fun one and I could not even enjoy the purchase of my car because it was wrapped in so much drama!
Think twice before purchasing from Auto Field. And if they have the car that you absolutely must have, I advise you to be VERY careful when sorting out the details. Good luck out there! read more
