Hillmans told me the unit was in good shape. 2 weeks later, returning from our second camping trip (local, thank goodness), we overheated. Since I had already scheduled service for a generator that kept stalling and a refrigerator that didn't get cold (thanks for the "pre-purchase inspection...), I added that to the list. After two days, I called for an update and was told the radiator needed to be replaced. Three days after that, I cancelled my scheduled camping trip due to not having a motorhome to go in. I was told the new radiator was $1500.00 but they could send the old one out for a re-core. A week after than, I again called for an update and they claimed to have not heard from the radiator shop but my generator had been repaired and the refrigerator was cold. I expressed my displeasure that Hillman had not called me and that I had to keep calling for updates. Long story short, they never called me until I called complaining and, after two weeks, I had a new radiator and a refrigerator that still wasn't cooling. The generator was untested. Ricky at Hillman told me he'd price a new reefer and get back to me. Still waiting for that call. Meanwhile, the motorhome has been leaking transmission fluid in my driveway and any other place the unit has been, the generator continues to stall and I finally got the reefer working myself. The motorhome is now at another shop, and the first question I got was "who put this radiator in? All the transmission lines are cross threaded and leaking". I paid Hillman $3,000.00 for all this work and the only thing I got was excuses and a poorly installed radiator. Lesson learned.... 10/8 - Update from the shop fixing what HIllman didn't: ""Good evening Bob, just letting you know I literally just closed the hood on your RV & it's all set for pickup tomorrow....Please give me an idea when you're going to come by and pick it up.... We will talk then about going after the place that did this terrible butcher job." and "but we definitely need to get your money back from those hacks."

The work took all of 5 minutes to swap out the old bulbs, the labor fees are wild here. But the thing that bothered me the most was when I asked the guy "hey is it normal that I'm having to replace bulbs in my Subaru constantly? I'm not even getting a year out of each bulb"... a genuine question I was asking as I don't know how often people typically need to replace burnt out bulbs. This guy spoke to me like I was a total idiot and said "well they're just lightbulbs... and you hit bumps don't ya?" Crazy response. My bulbs are burning out fast because I hit bumps? Come on. I've never had this issue in any car I've driven so was honestly wondering if something is wrong or if that was normal. Everyone I've asked since says it doesn't seem normal in the slightest. So I'm not sure if this guy just assumed I was stupid, or if he spoke to me that way because I'm a woman or what, but I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere and regret not reading some reviews in the first place because it seems most customers are unhappy as well

Got my rear brake pads incorrectly replaced, in addition to a missing parking brake plug. Brought it to my dealership when I heard a weird squeak when driving around. They found the inners on the outer, and the outer on the inners. Called this place to only be given a corporate number to make the complaint and file for a refund. They don't care about you or your car. It's a chain business, so no one will get fired for a bad job. Just don't take your car here unless you have time for inconvenience and stupidity.

I should have known since I drive a foreign luxury car. I had a coupon for a free conventional oil change which is what brought me to Pep Boys. Kyle knew that I would need full synthetic, not conventional, so he said that I he would just have me pay the difference so I could still use the coupon. He wanted to confirm that he had the proper oil for my car, so he asked me, but I didn't know as this was the first oil change I had needed. He told me it would be on the oil cap and I was embarrassed to admit I had yet to figure out how to pop the hood. He came out to show me and we discovered that the cap said to look at the manual... Two manuals later, we still did not have our answer, it just said to call Mercedes. He then called Mercedes to find out what oil I needed. Turns out that I needed full synthetic Mercedes brand oil. He then told me that if I bought the oil, he would still do the oil change for me which would be a significant savings from what the Mercedes dealership would charge me. I left with a happy car with fresh oil and highly satisfied with the great quality of customer service!

The next day, the day of my appointment at 4pm when the shop had not I contacted me so I called them. I was told that they had not looked at my vehicle yet. They were busy and at that time told me I needed an appointment. I told them I had an appointment at 7am that day. I agreed to leave my car overnight again and then ensured me they would service it the next day. The next day at 4pm I still had not heard anything from the shop. I called and was told the mechanic drove it and does not detect the problem I'm describing but they still have not put it on the lift and looked at it. They have now had my vehicle for 2 days!! I picked my vehicle up and it was repaired at another shop. The mechanic states he drove my car however my vehicle was in the exact parking spot I left it in 2 days prior. The drivers seat was all the way forward since I am under 5 foot tall. There was no paper on the floor near the foot petals. So I highly doubt they drove my vehicle. My vehicle sat in their parking lot for 2 days and they never even looked at it. If they lie about driving my vehicle how can I trust them to do any service. On the way home the vibration in the steering wheel is still present which is why I brought it to them for service. I will never return. Please don't go here!!

I had no problem finding the place- the building is right off of Transit Rd, literally. There is no driveway- you just pull right off the road and you're in the parking lot! I was the only one there at the time. They took my car back right away as I sat in the waiting area. It's a nice, clean area with comfy chairs, lots of magazines, and even a few childrens books. There is a TV and remote but I chose not to turn it on. Before I knew it, my car was finished, I paid at the counter, and was on my way! All-in-all a very pleasant experience. I will definitely go back again for my next inspection and will recommend this business to others.

It needed brakes, a ball joint, and the tires were right at the limit. Considering the car now had almost 80k I ordered new front brakes, calipers, and rotors. I went to install the parts and that's when it began. I was able to remove 4 of the 5 lug nuts by hand, and by hand, I mean with nothing but a socket and my hand, I didn't even need a rachet! The fifth came off without a single impact from the air gun, it spun right off. I was upset, but I figured everyone makes mistakes, and luckily, nothing happened. I took the car back for reinspection and to have the new front tires put on. After cashing out, I just felt I had to at least tell the shop owner what happened. I wasn't mad but it did bother me that it happened because my wife drives my 6yo daughter around in that vehicle. I expected an apology and for them to bring it to the technician's attention, after all, it could have been a serious situation. Well, this was not what happened. The owner first told me they do not remove a wheel during an inspection. Unfortunately, this upset me even more because that meant that the vehicle my wife drives my daughter around in was in an unsafe condition for a lot longer than a couple weeks. To top it off the vehicle had only been serviced at South Niagara for at least the prior two years so it was still on them. It also meant they did not perform the inspection to NYS standards which require that at least 1 front wheel be removed during an NYS Inspection. I brought both these points to their attention and the owner had the technician who inspected the vehicle come up front and tell me that they do need to remove a wheel for the inspection. I pulled up the New York State Inspection guidelines stating the requirement and they would not read them and continued to deny that a wheel needed to be removed for NYS Inspection. I was livid and upset. Not only did they put my daughter's life in danger they would not even recognize what was written in NYS inspection law and tried to deny the whole thing.
