This place is down the street from my house, so I came here to see if they had any availability for a car inspection. I went inside, saw a man having a conversation with someone in the backroom. Didn't acknowledge me, okay cool. Maybe he's not the person I need to talk to. Then a lady comes out, the one the man was having a conversation with, sits down at the computer and also didn't acknowledge me and continues to have a conversation with the man still. As if I am not standing at the window. It's giving micro aggression and racist. I am trying to be a new customer to a location that is down the street from my house and no one gives me the time of day? Very unprofessional. read more

Made an appointment online to have a set of TIMBREN SES ( suspension enhancement system) installed on the front of my Jeep. Scott called and we talked about what these are. I brought them to the shop the day of install and they went on no issues. This was the first time I used their courtesy ride from the shop after drop off. Mike, the driver, was a pleasant courteous driver. Once again, I can't say enough, I had gotten an estimate to have these installed at a plow install shop. I was quoted 3 times what the Auto clinic charged. If you need repairs Scott and his crew are honest hard working people you can trust with your vehicle. read more

Car needed state inspection during COVID-19, unfortunately no set up to maintain preventative measures, nor was a mask worn inside by staff. Inspection was fine, but upon returning home I noticed the radio was not working. They would not even look at the radio, accused me of breaking it myself, and called my crazy on my way out. My family has gone to this place for 25 years, myself since I turned 16. Evidently, loyalty means nothing to this place anymore. I am surprised because past experiences were all positive, so something has changed. I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore, and my family will unfortunately be finding a new auto mechanic. read more

We brought my wife's car in multiple times for various repairs and services My wife loved Scotte because he was friendly and appeared very professional. My wife said she liked that he didn't talk down to her. In fact, despite the repair issues I was seeing it was hard to convince my wife to look elsewhere. In summary, they replaced a transmission sensor, and that repair seems to be good to date. The things I take issue with are : 1. They never rotated the tire when we brought it in for regular maintenance. By the time I noticed, the fronts were too far gone and in my opinion, caused a premature tire replacement to the tune of $1000.00. If the maintenance was performed correctly I think I would have gotten another 25- 20 thousand miles out of them. 2. We sent the vehicle in for pulsating brakes multiple times and the technician was unable to diagnose and locate the bad brake rotor. Another mechanic located the defective rotor in under 10 minutes. 3. I sent the vehicle in for a 100K service. The service manual clearly states to check the battery capacity and function at every service. One week and one day later my kids got stuck with a dead car battery in a parking lot in Nashua. My wife's cousin drove from Athol to Nashua to jump-start them. My wife and I were out of town. I looked at the battery when I got home. The terminals were caked in green battery acid cake that was clearly visible to the week and one day earlier. In fact, they changed the air filter located directly behind the green battery terminals. I would have gladly paid for a battery if they had noticed. The whole point of a 100 K checkup is to locate and correct problems that are common as the car ages. 4.. We sent the vehicle in for a noisy water pump which they happily replaced for $850.00 ish dollars. The price was fair. I understand it's labor intensive that's what the job costs, I know I didn't want to do it. My problem is 1 1/2 years later I started seeing anti-freeze on the garage floor. I took the vehicle to another mechanic who found the bottom bolt to the water pump was missing. It's impossible to say if it was ever put in or if the bolt was torqued down and lock tighted but enough is enough. Based on my multiple experiences I would avoid the place. read more

The owner of this business was so rude about something beyond our control, and in front of other customers. I will dissuade anyone and everyone from spending money here. I had an experience with this place that not only was the worst of any garage I've been to but of any business ever. Unprofessional, antagonist, rude, unreasonable and all of it done in front of other customers. Pretty sure it was the owner as well. Apparently if you do business with others besides them, it is the ultimate insult. Even if you were trying to have them do the work. I'm still in shock of this level of behavior to a customer AND in front of other customers. If there is a reply from this business in this forum, it won't be an honest rebuttal. Just venting of what they feel is such a slight to their business. You'll notice a trend on the other negative reviews here, they react unprofessionally, and with childish argument tactics in their place of business. We've gone here for 15 years and still pleased with their no nonsense approach. We never have been forced to fix things that didn't need it, and the staff is always accommodating and courteous. They do get busy, and they aren't afraid to be honest when I call for last minute service. Sometimes they can't fit me in, but they are always willing to try, offer another time, or just say, "sorry we can't today". We will continue to use Auto Clinic and would recommend them to anyone! read more

I stopped in here to get my Jeep inspected and everything went smoothly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They got my Jeep inspected in about 10 minutes and it passed. When I got home later I read over the inspection report which identified the engine as unleaded when its actually a diesel. I'm not sure how this didn't cause any issue with the emissions part of the inspection, but since it passed I'm not complaining. read more

I'd give this place no stars if I could. Do not come here if you can help it. I called them one hour in advance to see if I could come down from southern NH just to get a 12 minute car inspection. When I arrived there I was not at all priority and was actually told it could not be done at all despite there being an hour left in their day, because two people were suddenly in front of me. They do not take appointments and it's probably a good thing because it likely wouldn't be worth a damn if they can't even set aside twelve minutes just to pass my car and throw a sticker on there, well aware of the fact I went out of my way to call TWICE and am coming a little more of a distance than I or normal people would. Waited over an hour and a half for them to do an oil change. They didn't seem too busy, maybe a couple other customers but I feel as though my car probably was ignored for a while. The staff was friendly enough, and from what I could tell, professional. I might come back to see if they were just having an off day but it's something to be noted nonetheless. I would recommend going any where but to this place. They are the kind of place that make women feel stupid and lie to get money out of people. They were wrong about my car. I brought it to multiple mechanics that told me there is nothing wrong with the wheel bearing. There is nothing to fix. They saw a women and the opportunity to mistake me for a dummy. I Gave them multiple opportunities to right their mistake. I asked them to show me on the lift what is wrong and they refused saying they have no available lifts today. I then offered to bring in my jack and jack it up out front and they said "No we don't don't that".They are a dishonest company that does not care about customers and they only care about their pockets. Can't fix something if nothing is wrong. Their for forcing me to go somewhere else to have to pay the inspection price again. When they could have admitted they were wrong and passed it. Instead they saw a "vulnerable women" and mistreated me completely. It's hard to find trust worthy honest mechanics. But I assure you they are NOT HONEST. I am reporting them to the state. Auto Clinic has consistently been very good to us over the past several years whether stopping in for an inspection or needing repairs from minor to major. The staff is always friendly and helpful, very knowledgeable and they don't talk down to you; rather, they take the time to explain what's going on with the vehicle. They will do the minimum and charge the maximum. Had a problem starting my car so I took it to them. They said they would get to it within an hour. Called two hours later to hear that they would work on it in 15 min. Another hour later they hadn't even looked at it. Once I arrived at the shop, they took the car in but nobody was working on it. It sat for while so they could charge the time. They got the car started but the service stopped there. They did not diagnose anything. Told me it needed a tune up when really it needed a coil. They charged me $83 and it took most of the day. Completely wasted my time and money. read more

Update 12/2013: Dropping to 1 star (0 if I could). I went there today to get my tires checked after my low-tire light came on with new tires that I bought a week ago at a tire specialty shop further away. He would not check the tire pressure and told me to go back to the tire store -- knowing it was further away. He was clearly annoyed that I didn't buy the tires from him. How petty!!! I will not be back to Auto Clinic. That is no way to treat a solid customer of almost 20 years (and not too bright either as my vehicle keeps getting older!) read more

I do not recommend them for working on a Prius. I brought my car to them after a red warning light came on on the dash. I was concerned to drive the car with the light on so called Auto Clinic as it is close to my home. I was told that they had all the diagnostic tools and information on the Prius so decided to use them. I asked whether the car could be driven to the shop and they recommended that it be towed. They had the car for 2 days and diagnosed it as a dirty cooling fan on the battery pack. They cleaned it and reset the light. When I picked it up, I was told that if the light came on again, I would need to get a new hybrid battery. The next day I drove it and the light came back on. Instead of taking it to them again, I drove the car to Acton Toyota. They diagnosed it as a connector with broken pins and were able to fix the issue in a day. Cost was similar to Auto Clinic. I wrote an email to Auto Clinic noting my dissatisfaction with their service. Initially they seemed to want to earn my satisfaction, but they were out of town at the time. A week went by, then I was asked to come in to the shop to review pictures and the Toyota diagnostics sheet that they had to go through. I declined to go in as I did not consider it necessary and thought that the issue was clear enough. Several emails were exchanged after this and I gave up after receiving a condescending email stating that I did not understand the difficulty of the task. Luckily for me the cost was limited to an unnecessary towing and an ineffectual diagnostic and fan cleaning charge. Had I followed their advice and replaced the hybrid battery it would have been several thousand dollars. Hope this saves someone else from that fate. read more
