The paint on our 12 year old Toyota Rav4 was failing like you see on so many older cars. Since it was in otherwise very good shape we decided to have it painted. After looking at body shop reviews I took it to Auto B Craft. They quoted a very good price and I scheduled a date to drop it off. After a week the Rav4 was finished, just like they said it would be. They did an amazing job of matching the paint and it looks like a new car. They arranged for a rental which I picked up and dropped off at the shop which was very convenient. I took my car in to get my bumper fixed and it took maybe 3 weeks for them to call me back saying my car is good to go. The price was 3,500. I then noticed the next day that my car had imperfections on the side of the bumper looking as if it is about to come off. Called the guy at the shop and he said that he could get it fixed with no problem! So when I brought it in, he said that his guys did not do that and it did not leave the shop like that. I told him that I did not crash or run over any bumps for my bumper to spit off. He then said something else but I kinda forgot, but he said he wouldn't charge me to redo it. When my car was ready to go the second time, my Dad and Grandpa went down to pick it up and the guy told them that I bought him out. I'm like ok? Anyways, not even a day later, my bumper is starting to pop out once more. Very disappointed :( It is very stressful that I paid 3500 and that the service could not be done properly. I called about the front right bumper of my 2020 Sonata ripped from the body with damage to the clips and whatnots that hold the bumper and the skirt to the body. I called and the owner answered and told me to bring it right in to at least make it safe to drive. When I got there the same guy looked at it and said pull it right into a bay for one of his employees to look at - I thought. 15 minutes later he came to me and said I was ready to go. They fixed it, and I mean properly fixed it. I asked how much and he said no charge. I offered to pay anyway. I mean this place was not hurting for work. The place was packed with cars getting work done and he took the time to immediately fix me up for free. I was having a really bad day for reasons that went beyond the car. and his generosity of spirit made my day. My hyundai dealership recommended this place after my brother got in an accident in my car. Said they do all their body work with them despite being all the way across town. I've never had to deal with insurance claims before and thankfully Dan made it easy for me. AAA was kind of being a pain but Dan literally took care of everything! I love my little car. Seriously. I have taken ridiculously excellent care of it since the day of purchase in 2009. Keeping an all black car in showroom condition while bring driven daily on the mean streets of Long Beach-with its air particulates, crapping parrots and a decent dose of general sludge, grime and road rage thrown in for good measure-sure isn't easy! Accordingly, you can imagine my *horror* when, while minding p's & q's of my own while navigating the demolition derby that is Ralphs Marina Pacifica parking lot (and dare I say, handling that pavement like friggin' Andretti) when...POW! a blue hair in a brand new Cadillac backed out of his parking space and directly into into the right side front quarter panel of my adorable little roadster. Lucky for me, they had insurance. Phew! Huh? Huh? cuz now it has a depression...see?) little car. Stupid concrete beam-probably mad at being conceived and stuck in an underground garage for its entire non-sentient life. Well, you guessed it. I took my car straight away to Auto-b-Craft for triage. Dan gave me an extremely fair estimate, told me to return on Monday (it was Friday afternoon when I showed up at his doorstep practically unannounced). He said it would be ready Friday. You know what? IT WAS! No screaming. No crying. No pleading. No ridiculous excuses necessary and only $5.76 over the estimate. The moral of my story? There are two: 1.) Don't park in your friends' garage while she is away being a hero as part of a World Vets contingent, saving the lives of dogs and cats in Antigua, Guatemala (on her own dime and time, too). ~and should you ignore my first piece of wisdom~ 2.) Drove in to try to get a quote for minor fender bender I was involved in but was rudely disregarded because the damage was very minimal. The fella I met with pushed to get everything done through insurance and mentioned that I was wasting my time trying to get quotes. I explained to him that I would rather take care of this out of pocket because it was minimal damage, he refused to analyze the car, looked at it from a far and gave me a fake/made up number to get me out of the shop. I spoke to Dan and he told me they were going to have my truck looking brand spanking new. They replaced all of the front with OEM parts and replaced my aftermarket grille. He sent me pictures throughout the whole time he had my truck.The truck was in the shop for about a 3 weeks only because all the aftermarket parts that were on my truck had lead times. My wife's 2015 black Tahoe sustained body damage along the driver side of the vehicle. There were several scratches (through the clear coat) and dents along the entire side.
