1 STAR -- EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL…read more This place is extremely unprofessional. No one answers the phone, and the information they have listed online is inaccurate. I had just purchased a vehicle that is brand new to me. The seller drove the vehicle to my rental community, dropped it off, and removed their tags. The vehicle had not even been sitting there for two hours after the tags were removed before GIR Towing and Recovery came into my community and towed it. What concerns me even more is the way the vehicle was removed. Instead of placing the vehicle on a flatbed, they dragged it out of the community. I sincerely hope there is no damage to my vehicle because of the way it was towed. I work from home and began calling them at approximately 12:30 p.m. I continued calling and sending text messages throughout the entire afternoon until I got off work at 7:00 p.m. Not one person answered my calls or responded to my messages. The phone number they provide is a cell phone number with no voicemail box set up, so you cannot even leave a message. Their information online says they are open 24 hours, but when I physically went to the location at approximately 7:20 p.m., they were CLOSED. I was then told that they actually close at 5:00 p.m. So which is it? If you are not open 24 hours, your business information should not say you are. If customers cannot reach anyone by phone or text, those should not be advertised as reliable ways to contact the business. At minimum, there should be a working phone number, voicemail, accurate business hours, and some way for a person whose vehicle has been towed to actually reach someone. Now I have to go back this morning, and because their posted hours apparently aren't accurate, I don't even know what time they actually open. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. My biggest concern now is getting my newly purchased vehicle back and making sure there is no damage from the way it was removed and towed.

I was told I would need to provide a copy of my bill of sale before they would process the cancellation. Because the trade-in documentation is embedded within my purchase contract and contains sensitive personal and financial information, I explained that I was not comfortable providing it and asked if there was an alternative form of verification. Instead of working with me to find a reasonable solution, I encountered customer service representatives and a manager who were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. While I was simply asking questions about the company's cancellation policy, my calls were disconnected multiple times without resolution. Customers should be treated with respect, especially when asking legitimate questions about a contract they purchased. Requiring unnecessary documentation containing confidential information, combined with poor customer service, made this an extremely frustrating experience. I hope Empire Auto Protect reviews both its cancellation procedures and the professionalism of its customer service team. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.
