The girls at this location are incompetent. I showed up needing a spray tan they said sure had me pay. Then informed me of a one person wait. I had barely enough time as it was but just enough for that. So I sat there twenty minutes. In that time frame other girl in a tanning bed decided she wanted to spray so they whispered behind the desk and put her in front of me. Not one girl took that opportunity to let me know they were going to make me sit another twenty minutes. The worst customer service just gossiping the whole time about boyfriends. Never going back. They also put a client in a room with a dirty bed while I waited and had to make her get dressed and come out to clean it. Wonder how many times that happens and the beds are just left dirty. So gross read more

Shoutout to the 2 staff members working last Saturday 9/10. I came in shortly after opening. I have become a member (got their unlimited package) before my cruise, but never came back until recently. I did not see much of a tan and almost cancelled, but after I explained the dilemma, the gals recommended another shade and suggested I do it twice. I was reluctant, but agreed. My legs, my everything is no longer pale. They are opened Mondays through Saturdays. I have not seen a crowd, but I do know that this place can get crowded so if you are on a time constraint, go early. Never saw any issues w/ cleanliness. The booths get sanitized and wiped down after each person. The room is a bit small, but there is a place to put your clothes and belongings. Hairnets available and a washcloth is available to pat yourself dry, wipe the bottom of your feet. Only con is their check-in. They ought to do it by phone number rather than by name. Do you know how many Nguyens there are here in San Jose alone? read more

The go to place in the San Jose area for tanning. They have several locations, several options for membership, and is always clean with welcoming staff. I rarely tan except to prepare for a beach vacation. I usually avoid the sun at all cost. They make it easy, and are helpful in getting that base tan as needed. Since I only need a short term membership, they are very conscientious of letting me know what day I need to cancel by, how to cancel, so I really only use what I need. Reasons why I always keep coming back here. I have come to tan for over 10 years, as needed. Highly recommended. read more

This location is a little ways from home but so worth it. It's very clean and the staff is really nice. Their equipment is up to date and the services they offer meet my needs. They have red light therapy beds which are a major plus, and their walk-in policy works for me. read more

Always a pleasure when taking a trip to any of the locations. Needless to say, I've always receive superb customer service, might I also add, the salon is always clean. read more

Big SHOUT OUT to the Willow Glen Crew! I have been tanning here for years and I have to say this crew is amazing! It is always a pleasure to go in and the girls always make you feel so welcome. I love their knowledge of the products and they were very helpful in me getting the right products for my tanning! i have tanned at other places, but i always come back here...thanks Willow Glen Crew! read more

I went in a few weeks ago now and was slightly nervous about hopping in a tanning bed but Ariana was helpful with reassuring that I was in good hands. She had very good knowledge of the beds and products she recommended me, I ended up buying a bronzer which I really like. read more

Layla who works the front desk is the rudest young lady I've ever encountered at this establishment. I've been coming here for years and have always had those most stellar experience. Very rude!! read more

I have been hearing a lot about red light therapy, so I started doing some research and realized that there was a salon that offers this service not too far from my mom's house. This weekend when I went to visit, I decided to stop by Australian Tan to get a little more information. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted at the front desk by an associate named Leilah. She was happy to go over the services that were available as well as the pricing. She was very friendly and patiently answered my many follow up questions. The facility was clean and welcoming. Since I popped in on a whim, I wasn't able to stay to get the red light therapy, but I will definitely be back! I will make sure to update my experience when I do. read more

I go to this location a lot! I used to run a tanning salon (which was in this location previously) for yearrrrrrs. I always super appreciate Leila and how she does her job. Reminds me a lot of my time working there. She's always smiling and quick and helpful. I had a little trouble my last session (when she wasn't there, my tanning bed wouldn't turn on) and SHE was so apologetic about it. I felt bad because it obviously wasn't her fault but I appreciate her bringing it up when I came back in today of course! I truly believe that this Australian tan location does well BECAUSE of HER!! So thank you Leila for always making my tanning experience the best. Always clean, beds available, clean bathroom, plenty of lotions to buy, and ofc her. :) i know she probably won't work here forever but ill keep coming back as long as she does :) read more

Horrible experience here. Local staff has no control over your cancellation. The people at the desk don't have a clue what they are doing. Delivering false info on cancellation policy. Had to call corporate and argue over a refund. I suggest you find another salon read more

It was highly irritating to find out that the salon had lowered its prices but failed to notify any existing clientele. And that the monthly package we had been paying $79.00 a month was now only $59.00! Especially since they had just charged an additional $15.00 for administrative costs?!? Bad business. The Morgan Hill Salon is overpriced and the owner is rude and refuses to make her salon safe for her customers. After slipping and falling, we asked her for some non slip mats, it still took her almost 2 weeks just to them in. read more

The service at the Willow Glen store is AMAZING, all the girls are so welcoming and sweet.. Leilah is such a sweetheart and was so helpful and attentive! I was super nervous cause I've never tanned but she made me so comfortable.. patiently broke down the whole process for me with details and recommended me a great bottle of lotion for my extremely sensitive skin(that I absolutely love). I NEVER make reviews but I had to for Australian Tan because of how impressed I am with them. Highly recommend this tanning salon! read more

I haven't been in a tanning bed for over a decade and was nervous to go. The beginning of this year I was home injured from a car accident and couldn't get out and do my normal activities. Being more pale than normal, I figured let's try tanning beds. I met Micah at the Willow Glen location and instantly felt comfortable and knew I made the right choice! Micah is a Gem! Hard to find great customer service nowadays. Micah and her team are welcoming, helpful and informational. Thank you so much! read more

I honestly come here about 2-3x a week. I have the $60 membership which includes all beds and extras. I use the red light therapy and level 5 bed the most. I first started with the lower membership which only includes beds 1 & 2 and recently upgraded which i'm glad I did. Usually around 12-3pm I don't have to wait to get into the beds. read more

Micah is so knowledgeable and very helpful with everything at the WG location. She's very friendly and always professional when helping all customers, not just with myself but I've seen her deal with some hectic situations and she always finds the the best solutions for her costumers. She makes my experience coming here much more enjoyable. I highly recommend Micah if you need assistance with lotions, prices or any questions or concerns for that matter, she definitely knows her stuff. read more

HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THIS LOCATION. Every time I've gone in, I've been greeting by my first name, no matter how busy it is. All the staff there are super nice, and Leilah and Sophie have always taken their time to talk to me about different services they offer and the best products to use read more

I have to say this company deserves 5 stars, great customer service is a priority for this staff! I have been a happy member for many years... I live 200 miles away to the closest location, I always receive compliments on my tan. Ashley helped me today with my issue, she credited my account and froze it for 6 months. That's $180.00 credit She adjusted my rate from $79.00 per mo down to $39.00 !! So when I get back to enjoy my tanning experience they will use my credit on file. That's such a big savings for me! Thank you ! read more

Ok, ok I admit it. I love to tan! With my Hawaii tan fading, and my need to maintain my color for my trip to Playa del Carmen in 2 months, I need some fake sun! This location is fairly new and very clean, with really nice high pressure beds, and the girls who work here are all very friendly. The only disappointing thing is that they don't have the Sun Dash Stand Up advertised on their website; it's a much older version, but it still gives you a nice tan after 8 minutes. Another plus about this place is that it's located right next to 24 Hour Fitness. So I can head in here for 10 minutes (sometimes there's a wait, just because it's so popular) and then work out right after. Take advantage of their March Madness specials right now! You're locked into a super low rate for their unlimited tanning memberships. You'll have to head on in to get pricing, but hurry before the month is over. read more

I come here every so often and tan for a week right before I take a trip. This place is amazing! I have really bad eczema and Amanda was really knowledgeable on recommending me a really good tanning lotion and a awesome red light product, and neither one of them made my eczema worse or irritated. So if you have sensitive skin I recommend these products. Ask for Amanda when needing help she walked me through how to use the products and when to use them. The shop was very clean and I felt safe walking in and out! I definitely will be coming back to this specific location just because of how awesome the customer service was and how good I felt leaving read more

Came here for the first time two days ago! Very nice staff and they were able to help me decide on which spray tan to go with. The spray tan machine was not working after I took off all my clothes, but they were able to come in and reset the system. Very attentive and helpful staff. The tan turned out great! Both my friend and I love it! read more

Second time I've used an Australian Tan. First was the one in Morgan Hill 7 years ago in preparation for my wedding and subsequent Virgin Islands trip. It did the trick. This last week, I bought a week pass (really 7 sessions with a max use time of a week) for $25. What I wasn't a fan of both times is the cost of the bronzer they have you get. It cost as much or more than the sessions did. Well, all staff was helpful and very friendly. They forgot to show me the radio on the first one, but no big deal. Both rooms I tried were clean. I did 2/7 of my sessions in the cocoon. Not sure how much that helped, but it was alright. Apparently can help with weight loss. Perhaps I'd try this in the future; we'll see how much a pass is. read more

This review is about Deja, the manager at this location. I called a week or two ago about an issue with cancelling the memberships for my wife and I. She investigated right away and was in constant communication with me throughout. I appreciated that my issue was resolved promptly over the phone and it was an easy, pain free process. Deja should get a bonus, raise, and promotion! Cheers to the Guest Services department as well in regards. Great customer service all around. read more

I was having issues with cancellation but the owner of the business, Christie, personally reached out and had her staff contact me right away. I've always had a positive experience at all the locations, the cancellation process needs to be changed as it leaves a bad taste. I'm revising my original one star review to 4 stars and that's all because of the responsiveness of the owner (it would have been 5 stars had I not had to reach out to the owner to get my cancellation request processed). Thank you read more

Purchased a groupon for three spray tans and went to redeem them. Nowhere in the Groupon does it say you cannot use two at one session or can't allow another person to use one. It reads "limit one per person, may buy additional as gifts".. meaning i cannot purchase four Groupons for 12 spray tans and redeem. Anyways, I went to redeem last night with my little sister and the "manager", Nicole, was extremely rude and obviously lacked customer service skills. There was a really kind man helping me so this review is not a reflection of his service at all. When I got to the salon, he started signing me in and I informed him I had a Groupon and I wanted to use two. That's when she butted in and rudely told me I can't use a Groupon for my sister. So fine, I agreed to go get my card and purchase a separate tan for full price. As I was walking back, it didn't sit right with how she spoke to me. So I asked to please show me where, in the Groupon, it reads this rule. She grabbed my phone and began to read the part about one purchase per person. I let her know how I interpreted it, which she then repeated her sentence. Again, I let her know that's not what the Groupon means. So this time, she reads the sentence again, slowly, and follows with "do you understand me?!" Now, I look young but don't talk to me like I'm stupid. I asked if there was a policy written somewhere else that read what she was telling me and she repeated Over and Over it was in the contract, but refused to show me. Eventually, I just decided to ask the guy to help me purchase a spray tan for my little sister. Again, she butts in and tells me I cannot purchase one. Confused, I asked him why not and clarify that I'm asking to purchase one for full price. She then goes on to tell me I need to buy another Groupon. I said "oh, so if I were to walk in to this salon right now and ask to purchase a spray tan, you'd say someone has to buy a spray tan on Groupon? Although 5 minutes ago, you told me the offer is no longer available?" At this point, I was heated and told her I was not talking to her anymore and wanted him to help me. She refused to allow him to help me himself. She was clearly looking for any reason to be a condescending bitch and at that point, I no longer believed it had anything to do with what I was saying. Not to mention, her interaction with the other WHITE customers was not equal at all. She knew she was wrong because she was visibly nervous when it came to having to address me and refused to look me in the eyes as I waited. She kindly let the other women know they would be helped in just a second, with a smile on her face. Had I been a older white lady, maybe she would have had more respect. But I'm a young Latina who she felt she could disrespect. I was looking to try a new tanning spot, since my last one closed. I heard a lot of great things about this place and it's nearby where I live, so I thought I'd try it out. But once I use my remaining two tans, I will never again return and I'll be sure to let everyone I know about this experience. She was not only condescending to me but to the employee. I understand policies but 1) maybe they should be more clear and readily available to show customers and 2)a "manager" should never treat or speak to a customer the way she did. The manager is rude, racist, condescending, and clearly shady. Girl, you're a grown woman who works full time at a tanning salon. You have no reason to think you're above anyone. You may be in Willow Glen but us people of color do exist and deserve the same service. I will be contacting corporate because now that I read other reviews, I can see this is not a one time experience. read more

So I signed up for what I thought was a 3 month membership, and here I am a year later, didn't realize I was still paying for a membership I thought I didn't have. Coming to their crappy cancellation policy. Like previous reviews, you can't cancel in-store. YOu have to snail mail to Morgan Hill, (I even called you can't drop it off there). So yes, certified mail at my expense, and it still will take 14 days to cancel upon RECEIPT of letter. (Why 14 days, who knows!) And yes, upon receipt of letter, so is that when they decide to open it? So, now I will be paying ANOTHER month, Jan 2010. This is absolutely ridiculous. Don't ever go here. Also, line-ups the 3 times I actually went in 2008. Not impressed. I will take my chances with the sun. Shame on you Australian Tanning company. read more

I'm always wary of tanning places...they'll upsell you, oversell you, shame you into buying unnecessary packages and lotions, etc. Not at all with this Australian Tan location. The girls (and one dude!) were extremely helpful in explaining the different packages and beds, and didn't automatically recommend the most expensive option. In fact, they offered me the most economical choice based on what I needed (memberships range from $25/month to $75/month). And when I wanted to downgrade, there were no issues. Beds are clean, bulbs are strong. Yeah, the Level 1 beds are pretty weak, but...well, you get what you pay for. I've never had to wait for a bed, even at peak times. read more

I got one a month unlimited tan here which is now over. I just Love the front counter ladies! Very professional. Also very sweet and helpful. I want to give a special thanks to Nacole. She went beyond when I joined to help me. There was another gal wish I got here name. She helped me to pick my tanning lotion since I couldn't make a decision with so many options and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a big bottle. They ended up selling out of the one I wanted and went and got another bottle from one of there other locations. Talk about customer service! The place is clean and I never had to wait which was my concern since it's by walk in only. Overall my tan was just what I wanted since I'm already olive color didn't want to get to dark and just need A bronzy tan. Thanks ladies! read more

My first time at this place. I've used spray tan booths in the past at other places. I like that this one uses the VersaSpa which I feel gives a very natural color compared to Mystic Tan. I usually go for the level 2 but I had an event going on the same night and wanted to be as dark as possible before I had to rinse it off in the 4 hours that I had so I went with the level 3. The worker there was really friendly and answered all my questions about the different levels. I'm glad I went with the level 3, it was the right amount of darkness I wanted to be. I bought their Groupon deal, $24.95 for 3 spray tan sessions and got the 10% additional discount during Mother's Day wknd, score! read more

I love this place! So clean, super cute, workers are the nicest women I've ever met. Signing up for their tanning membership was so quick and easy and I'm so happy with it. Mary was super clear and helped me find the perfect plan. They have different memberships for every type of tanner. She answered all the questions I had and made me feel super comfortable and confident in their services. If you're a first time tanner or have been tanning for years I recommend this salon. I love this place. Good price, great lotions, friendly helpful staff....I always have an amazing experience here. 5 stars hands down...

So, let me say the staff that day was SO SO SWEET and helpful in giving me options! I bought a Yelp voucher in that was 20.00 but worth 50.00. They were all very helpful. The ONLY thing, and big thing I had a problem with was the spray tan booth. I think one of the jets were clogged and so when I got in I stepped in a puddle of spray tan which was sticky, slippery and on the bottom of my feet for days. Other then that, I would for sure go again. read more
