Sonia is absolutely delightful! Came in looking to get some color for an event, she explained all the packages and the special, I got the unlimited tans for the month for $99 and the stand up bed is giving me the color I wanted. I also got a small bottle of lotion $35 that smells great and is helping with the color. Everything is clean, the rooms are spacious and have a stool to put your stuff on. I bought a tanning package to get tan before my wedding. My fiancé got his own package too and loved going. He had never done tanning before and he was nervous. But after his first time he was all in! Owners Sonia and Jason are really cool and incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Along with tanning I also tried their teeth whitening treatment! The pricing is really great across the board which is what got my attention at first (I'm a bride on a budget). They have lots to offer and also have cute workout gear and luxury designer accessories like sunglasses and stuff. I did the red light treatment which was really cool. You basically walk or run on a treadmill for 30 mins while wearing this scuba skirt/belt that traps the heat in the treadmill booth, which helps burns more calories (1,000 cals burned in 30 mins if you run). Then did the red light bed and even after one session I thought my thigh cellulite looked smoother and more even. My regular system is to spray tan then do the standup bed right after. They call this the cocktail. I was afraid I'd sweat my spray tan off by doing a uv bed right after but I didn't get hot enough to actually sweat and I'm a sweater. Everyone looks better with a tan, it's undeniable! I'm hooked! read more

They have single, multi use, and awesome memberships choices available. One is unlimited use of red light, UV tanning, and spray tan services for a month, and NO IT DOESNT AUTO RENEW like that gym membership you wish you'd cancelled. I had no experience with tanning besides a few lack luster experiences with spray tans at other tan companies. I was admittedly a little nervous to show up and feel lost. That was not the case. Both owners are super professional and kind, they took the time to make sure I was well informed and comfortable with the process. And trust me I leaned heavy on their professional opinions. The beds are clean, in great shape, and there are 4 bed options to choose from. Besides sun bed tanning, they offer red light, spray tans, infrared cardio, teeth whitening, and there is an adorable boutique to shop as well. It's a total one stop shop. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes as a walk in either. They run their business so well. My results have been great. So not so funny story: in an effort to get a nice base tan before my trip to Vegas, I sat out by my pool 3-4x in the past two weeks. What ended up happening is that my back and front were nicely tanned and then the sides of my body were pretty much untouched by the sun. (Think marshmallow sandwiched between two graham crackers) So in a desperate attempt to fix this I found Sol through yelp! I saw on their website they had a free UV tanning session for new customers -score! I also opted for a spray tan just to help even out my ridiculous tan lines. The front desk girl was super super sweet and knowledgeable and I felt like I was in great hands. I ended up going for the clear dark ($35) which she said gets darker over the next 48 hours. Once that portion was complete I stepped into the standing tanning bed for 10 minutes. It was super comfy, not too hot and it actually helped the spray tan dry so I wasn't too sticky leaving the store. All in all this place rocks! I would 10/10 recommend. Pro tip: make sure to check in to receive the free tanning lotion to help keep your new tan! ;) read more

Love how conveniently located this place is! I was looking for a quick place to get a tan prior to my Bachelorette party, and decided on Sol Tan because of the great reviews. I was able to get an appointment very easily, and went in at 7pm. After reviewing the menu of sevices and talking with the owner, I opted for the cocktail, which involves a spray tan followed by a stand up bed sesh. The spray tan was done by machine (a first for me as I'm used to hand spray tans) and I immediately went to the stand up bed after (yes, I know that tanning beds are bad for you). It felt really good because it dries the tanning solution faster, like baking it on lol. My tan came out PERFECT! The color was even and true tone, as opposed to orange. It looked super natural. All my girls were commenting on it the whole weekend! I did medium shade, and would probably stay with that shade but skip the stand up bed part for a day to say tan (you gotta be a little extra before vacay though ;)). They're very knowledgeable on the whole process and can help you figure out what will work best for you and where you're going. I had a trip to hawaii planned and I wanted a long lasting tan and something that will show up right away for my pictures! This review is for the VersaSpa spray tan booth only. As a fair-skinned lass with freckles, spray tans have become my only avenue for bronze goddess status. Unfortunately, since I've moved to the bay area it's been difficult to find a salon with a quality spray tan booth that offers a choice between clear/bronzer AND three different tan levels. Plus, the coverage is never streaky and the solution is high quality so your color comes out more bronze than orange. I've used yelp to find spray booths in Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Santa Clara, San Jose, and even as far south as Campbell, and was always disappointed 4-6 hours later! Don't waste your time. I drive from Milpitas to Sol Tan Salon once a week and its well worth the drive. So for you first time or novice spray tanners, never fear. Here's what you need to know... Firstly, don't go anywhere else unless they provide at least two color levels and a choice between clear or bronzer. Bronzer is just color that sits on the top of the skin to give you instant color, and washes off as soon as you shower. Those who need instant color (beach-bound?) and can't wait the 4-6 hours for the color to develop should choose bronzer. Otherwise, I'd suggest you do without. It gets on your clothes, and although it looks good initially, once your actual tan begins to develop underneath you begin looking really, really orange. Think Oompa-Loompa. If you have light colored hair or highlights ask for an additional shower cap. Also, ask for an extra towel to place on the bottom of the VersaSpa to avoid the bottom of your feet becoming very, very orange. Use lotion or color-block on your toenails and fingernails. No need to goup it everywhere like they say because.... WASH! Wash your hands to your wrists. Then, and I know how this sounds but trust me I'm an expert, wash your feet in the sink! If there's a drainstop pull it and fill up the sink about two inches. Place you foot in and make sure to wash around your toenails, between your toes and the back or your heels. After you finish washing, dry your hands and feet with a towel, and be sure to rub well around the areas you washed, i.e. fade the color into the areas you washed near your wrists and ankles. Try to leave your tan for the full 6-8 hours. It last longer and looks more real when you let it fully develop vs. washing after 4 hours. Prolong your tan by avoiding super long hot showers and lotioning up like crazy after bathing. Oh! and I always try to wash my face really well about the 4-5 hour mark... my face tends to soak up the color faster and looks odd. ~ And there you have it. It sounds like a lot, but once you get used to its fast. I'm in and out in 10 minutes with a perfect tan every time. Don't forget to say hi to Marley! Cutest dog ever (see pics!)! read more

I needed a tan to go to a high-profile fundraiser (the mayor and congressmen would be there) and I was worried about being too dark/orange with the versa spa spray tan, I chose a level 2 tan, even though I am pale as a ghost. Two hours later when I was at the dinner. the tan looked perfect. It gave me a natural glow and truly it's the best color I've ever had.I'm including a picture because I am so happy with the color. I started the day feeling totally BLAH but after my tan, I was ready to rock and roll. I even got offered a job to model a convertible Ferrari! :-D Unlike the dreadful mystic tan, the versa spa (spray tan used at this salon ) is an amazing machine. What is special about this place is that they tell you the secrets and tips to get a flawless glow. New customers are also offered a buy one get one free deal, so I will definitely be back, again and again. :) OTHER STUFF The world's cutest little dog also lives here:) Another fun extra is that they have lots of candy: An Andes chocolate waited for me in the room and lollipops at the desk, but there was more candy to grab in the hallway and waiting room. They have the LARGEST and most amazing lotion collection, as well as cute other boutique-y items such as rhinestone headbands and hairbands. If I owned a tanning salon it would be just like this one. A little over a week before my wedding and I'm lagging on getting rid of my tan lines. I had a pretty noticeable tank top tan and my wedding dress was a halter. I came in, showed the owner my tan, told her the few days I had left before my wedding (and I was out of down 3 days of the work week before my wedding so that made time more slim) and she worked with what she had. Recommended 4 sessions, 2 of level 2 and 2 of level 3. She kindly showed me what to do because I had zero experiences with getting tans outside of the beach. After the first session, I wasn't sure if this was working. But man, my skin tone evened out! The tank top tan was gone and I had a nice bronze going on.
