    After trying a couple other shops to sort my issue dropped my Pioneer SX-780 off with Austin Stereo. They straight away didn't beat around the bush. All original? Needs a full refurbish. I appreciate straight forward honesty. Never looked or sounded better. With a warranty. Good work guys.

    I took in a Marantz 1060 that I had purchased online, and one of the channels was blown, and the power button was sticking bad, among other things. I was given a quote for a full restoration and I spent some time thinking about whether I wanted to invest in getting it fixed. In the meantime, I asked around and did my research. Everyone I asked told me that Austin Stereo Service was the best place to go. In the end I took my 1060 back in for restoration right before Thanksgiving, and I got it back right before Christmas, as was promised. Everyone there was very friendly and honest. My Marantz sounds good as new! Mike, the owner, was a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them if I needed any future work on my other Marantz equipment. Thank you Austin Stereo Service!

    Austin Stereo rocks! Turnaround on the repair time was solid and he uses quality materials. My hi fi sounds so good now!

    I have an amateur radio I need to make a modification on. I need to solder a different part onto a circuit board. But I'm not comfortable soldering. Is that something you guys could do? Or you can you think of someone who can?

    I'm sorry but we don't work on ham gear. I'd suggest reaching out to someone from the ARRL. I bet they can help. Met a lot of Hams, and they are always ready to help.

    I saw a review on Austin Stereo Service about TV repair but didn't see that listed as one of the services you offer. Can you confirm whether you service TVs?

    Hi Vette. We used to service TVs long ago. We no longer service any video equipment.

    I accidentally knocked my vintage JBL L100 speaker off of its stand last week. It's crackling now. Is there anyone in town that can restore vintage speakers? when these are 100% functional: the sound is unparalleled.

    I have a Victoria 8-1 that is loose in some parts and needs a needle replacement that I can not figure out how to do, can you guys replace the needle for me and explain why it feels loose?

    While our shop does not service the Victoria, the stylus is designed to be replaced by the user. These use the same turntable mechanism as the Crosley Cruiser, and many other models. Most record stores will stock replacements for these.

    Do you guys repair record cabinets? Mine has an 8 track player but I know yall can not fix that.

    Hi Christian, I'm sorry, but we don't work on all in one stereos or consoles of any kind.

    Do they repair microcassette recorders?

    We don't do any tape decks of any kind. Sorry.

A local (Orange County) 3rd party repair shop, after having it for a week, told me it couldn't be repaired. I then went to Reddit for help and suggestions. There were several referrals to Rossmann Repair Group. I contacted them through their online contact form. They immediately messaged with a few more questions and then gave me the necessary details to send my device to them in Austin. I did so - of course, the holidays slowed things down a bit, but by the second week in January, I received word that my lap top had been successfully repaired, losing NONE of my data. Amazing! The cost? A mere $459 which includes shipping back (USPS) to me, signing at delivery. I did have go pay for shipping to get it to them. Totally worth it to me. To insure safe and speedy delivery, signing upon delivery, to them. I paid about $89 for UPS, not including double boxing and bubble wrap. So, in total, I paid $638, for shipping to, repair, shipping back. I didn't lose ANY of my data. I am sooo happy and thankful to Rossmann Repair Group. Thank you!!!

    I went in on a Friday midday in June. Was quickly greeted by a worker. I gave him a broken MacBook…read moreand he said it'll take 5-10 minutes for a free diagnosis. After about 5 minutes he came back stating the power rail was broken, but I did not proceed with the repair, as the cost of repair was more than the value of the laptop. The quote was half of Apple's quote and came with a guarantee if that I will not pay if they can't successfully fix it. This is miles better than the Apple store as they would make you wait over 15 minutes even though you had an appointment just for the "genius" to say you need to quote an $800 logic board replacement. Best of all there was a cool painting of Clinton the cat!

I am handicapped and had trouble finding the battery so since she said they had only One left in stock, I decided to drop it off that day. When I showed up at the store, she was even More Rude and inconsiderate and whenever I tried to ask a question about turn around time, ie she cut me off and derogatively called me "Boss"!!?! She quoted me a price and I asked her if she needed my pin # and she rudely cut me off again and replied "Boss, I'll get to that". They made me feel miserable and like I felt like I should feel honored that they got to work on my phone. There are dozens of these types of business out there, they aren't special...if my caregiver who dropped me off had more time I would have found a different store to give my business to. She was in such a Hurry that she didn't bother to get Anything but my last name and cell phone number. No address/email or physical/no first name/when I asked if I were in the system, she just kept bullying me thru the sale. When I asked for a physical receipt or even an emailed receipt, she replied, "You don't need one, we have cameras everywhere!!??!". HUH!!?! that makes Zero sense. Expecting someone to leave a phone with a complete stranger-for all I know, she's a convicted felon and now has my pin # and access to All my banks, private stuff, ie. THAT'S ABSURD. My caregiver was in a hurry, so I left the phone, but then decided after about 30 minutes that this was Not a good idea, at all. So I called the store back and asked to speak to a manager.
