They scheduled for the next week, but called later that day saying they had an electrician unexpectedly available, and would I like to have the installation done immediately? Why, yes, I would! Texas Electrical Services was scheduled to do a job for me on 7/29/22 and did not show up. I checked on them for a status and they said they would be about an hour late. Two hours later, no one had arrived or called and I checked again. They said it would be another hour from then. I told them to cancel the appointment since i cannot count on them arriving when they said they would. Poor communication with no updates. Would not recommend this company since you have no idea if and when they would even show up. read more

Two separate strips of tape light went out and I thought I'd need to replace both strips. Texas Electrical Services replaced some breakers for me last year and did a great job so I gave them a call. Must have been my lucky day. There was a technician available in my area and he arrived an hour later. He fixed both strips by repairing the connections to the drivers. Update: They send someone to my house fix the outlet and explained why it is happening. The two guy originally did the work is the stuff working on commercial side. So they followed their normal pattern that do the wiring and circus first and come back and finish after the cabinets done. I decide to accept the explanation since they seems put all the wire unhooked even in the box to make sure the exposed wires are safe. And they explained a lot to me very patiently on the original installation and there is no reason they just left a mess. They also offered for a refund or send someone to fix the ceiling, Jeromy and I still working on this. I have to say the service is great on the follow up. I scheduled the service in 1 day and they still send someone, and that's the reason all the misunderstanding happens. I will give 4 star left 1 star for a better communication but decided to bump to 5 for the fast scheduling and the great attitude they've shown after the misunderstanding happens. I will keep choosing them in the future. read more

Yesterday we had a fire near the HVAC unit (the disconnect box?) after power was restored. It melted -pictures for reference. Like many others in Southeast Austin we had been without power for 4 days! Not sure what the exact issue was but it was so disheartening that we finally had the heater back, and then the fire happened. I thought it would be days before we could get an electrician out. My husband called around for different company quotes, and information. Only Texas Electrical services and another company were able to come out today. Both sounded like good options, so I came on Yelp. I've used Yelp for years, so of course I went with the company that had the best Yelp reviews. Well, my rating dropped from 5 to 4 now that I've gotten the work done. The guys who came out to do the work did not seem quite as knowledgeable as the guys who did the initial assessment. At one point, they told me the door to the crawl space was locked. While I was at the condo office trying to find someone to unlock it, they called me to tell me they "figured it out". They dropped wires from inside the crawl space for a new circuit, but then when they got to the circuit box, I heard one of them say "I can't find it, do it". Then, they left for their truck for a good long while. I asked them a couple times if something was wrong. They assured me everything was fine. They just couldn't get to the wires without cutting the sheetrock above my box. But, I thought the guys who initially assessed said they wouldn't need to do that (I might be wrong but I thought that's what they said). I just didn't have a lot of confidence in them, but it eventually all worked out. They got the work done. If these guys had been the ones who initially came out for the assessment, though, I may not have hired this company. read more

Based on the week of February 14, backup power was needed. I asked for quotes on adding a 30amp generator plug and breaker interlock on our electric panel. There we also a couple of arc fault and ground fault breakers that needed replacement. Some of the responses were "It will be $3K and we can get to you in a month". Talking to Jeremy @ TX Elec was different. He asked specific questions, understood the requirements and scope and gave me a reasonable ballpark number. He scheduled us for a week out and we confirmed price and scope. This morning Efren and Miqneya arrived on time, confirmed everything and got to work. 2 hours later Efren knocked on the door as they were cleaning up and loading up. He ran through what they'd done and generated the invoice. Efren and Miqneya were nice, personable and respectful of time and property. Both times the work was guys arrived promptly, quickly assessed the situation, and completed the work with skill and attention to detail, at a very reasonable price. Let me add that I made the mistake this most-recent time to call out ABC Home Services first, because I was pressed for time with company coming. ABC completely misdiagnosed the problem and left me without fixing anything. I should also add that this was a repair to what turned out to be shoddy work by Fox Services done a few years back. I reached out to TES and four or five other companies with some questions and photos to get estimates for a charger for an electric vehicle and potentially to have to replace my electrical panel for higher amperage. Many of the companies responded via email or Yelp based on my photos and gave me estimates. TES responded quickly and said that it was best for someone to come out and do an in-person estimate. Someone called today and was able to schedule a technician to come out and take a look. I am so glad they did this. Efren came out and we talked through all of my options. Rather than just taking a look, he looked at all the wiring, took measurements, explained everything thoroughly and helped me to make an informed decision based on actual readings and assessments, not just assumptions based on the photos I sent. Rather than doing what was right for the company and just telling me I needed an expensive replacement, he considered my needs and what was right for the customer. I called to set up an appointment to install some outlets and check out some faulty wiring that my builder had done. Casey set us up for a quick and free estimate. I was surprised that when Texas Electrical Services got to my residence they put on the shoe "booties" to protect the floor from their shoes. I do not have a fancy house or fancy floors, but it was a nice professional touch. The estimate was reasonable, so we proceeded with the work. The guys that did the installation were professional and fast. They were friendly and made sure I was satisfied before they left.
