Lisa is amazing! I cannot say enough positive things. I did prenatal yoga with her with both of my pregnancies. I always feel so uplifted, energized and positive after a yoga session. I love that she provides a supportive, warm environment. It is so much more than just physically rejuvenating, but also so helpful mentally and emotionally. She's created a great community of moms that can support and help one another. It is also very affordable. I attribute the fact that I had a very easy natural on time birth experience to Lisa. I cannot recommend Lisa's prenatal & postnatal yoga classes enough! I started her classes when I was around 10 weeks pregnant and went consistently throughout my pregnancy. I LOVE GOING TO YOGA. I go every Sunday, and I started right at 8 weeks (I'm at 14 now). It can be challenging but after I feel like the fertility goddess that I am. Lisa is so knowledgeable and gentle with her directions, she always remembers your name and is there to help you get the most out of each class. The stretching has been wonderful since I work from home and tend to spend most of my time sitting. I also really appreciate being around other mommas and sharing our feelings and happenings. It feels like therapy. I think that prenatal yoga is not only good for your pregnancy to keep you active and limber, but it's also good for your emotions and your soul. It helps me remember that I'm not alone and that I have this amazing group of women beside me, going through the same things. Last but not least, the price is reasonable! You bring your own mat, but Lisa provides most of us with a blanket and a block for our poses. I also love that you can schedule the week of online, and they also use Paypal; super easy. I started prenatal yoga with Lisa at 18 weeks and went all throughout until 1 day before birth - it was the highlight of my pregnancy! Lisa is an amazingly thoughtful teacher, the yoga flow is sooo good for the pregnant body and the community of other mamas is just wonderful. During my first two trimesters I continued to practice vinyasa but once my third trimester started I decided to switch over to prenatal classes. I had taken a couple of prenatal classes elsewhere but I am picky! I decided to try Lisa's class and it was just what I needed! The second I entered class I knew I found what I was looking for. Lisa is what makes the class so amazing, she has a way of making everyone feel welcomed. Lisa has an energy that calms and uplifts you. Not only does she offer her presence but her classes cater to everyone! Have a request? She'll make sure to add it into her class, and next week she'll ask you if that same problem is a bother that way she can focus on it again. Lisa gives lots of substitutions where needed and the most AMAZING sacral presses. (Ask for this) I always left class feeling as if I were ready to tackle my next week of pregnancy. I attended Lisa's classes up until my 40th week of pregnancy! And I would've continued if my baby hadn't come. read more

Lisa's prenatal yoga class was hands down one of the best parts of my pregnancy experience. I assumed the value of the class would come from stretching and mobility conditioning alone (which really was great for the body and soul from week 18-41! of my pregnancy), but the community vibes and support were far and away the highlight. First, Lisa is just an exceptional human. She genuinely cares about every woman in her class- even remembering their names (it's not a small class!) and unique pregnancy challenges. Second, the community is just the best. It's rare to know a ton of people who are pregnant at the same time, so this builds an incredible community of shared experience. I was lucky enough to meet a friend who was due the same week as I was and we've stayed friends even beyond the class. What a special and unexpected gift! I cannot recommend this class enough. I started coming to Lisa's prenatal yoga classes early in my second trimester and have continued through my pregnancy. Lisa is wonderful, just a truly amazing person. Lisa is fantastic! I saw her for yoga every week for two pregnancies. The circle time at the start really helped me feel that all my pregnant issues were normal, and part of a community. The yoga was amazing and Lisa is calm and makes sure you hold poses with the right posture. I firmly believe that this why my two post yoga births were 4 and 1.5 hours long, while my first birth where I had done no prenatal was 26 hours long. read more

If you live north of the river, there is no more convenient, affordable and high-quality prenatal yoga class than Lisa's. Lisa's yoga classes were a respite and a routine for me during my pregnancy. I went to my first at 17 weeks pregnant and continued all the way through 40 weeks, then have attended postnatal classes as well in the months following the birth of my daughter. Lisa cultivates a warm, safe ambiance -- remembers everyone's names -- remembers everyone's babies' names -- remembers how everyone gave birth. Her classes are gentle enough to be accessible to your misbehaving pregnant body but with enough challenging options to keep you strong and agile throughout your pregnancy. I loved the check-in routine at the beginning of each class. Each woman would introduce herself with her name, how many weeks pregnant she was and what was going on physically/emotionally with her. This is the sort of thing that can feel annoying or time-consuming if mismanaged. Lisa manages it beautifully. It was a great way to hear a range of experiences and learn about what was coming later in your pregnancy. I met several friends in the class that I've stayed in touch with since -- especially fun since our babies are about the same age. read more

Austin Prenatal Yoga has meant so much to me during my pregnancy! Not only do I feel more physically ready for labor and delivery than I would have without it, I also feel genuinely cared for by Lisa and the supportive environment she creates. She knows everyone's names and body needs, makes room for all different pregnancy experiences, and is super fair and generous when it comes to the logistical/billing stuff. My first pregnancy would have been more sedentary, more isolated and less connected to my baby and my body without these classes. I was so lucky to be part of Lisa's classes from my 7th week of pregnancy to 3 days before my due date. I tried so many different classes in Austin and was not happy...and after one class with Lisa I was hooked. Pro's -Lisa's kindness, understanding, and deeply heartfelt caring is un-matched. -There were weeknight classes and a weekend class -I made great friendships there -My body was in better shape at 40 weeks pregnant than it was before I was pregnant -There was no pressure or the feeling of competition, and the intensity level was serious but do-able -Lisa became a huge part of my happy and healthy pregnancy -The couples weekend birthing workshop that she offers in the third trimester was the best class my husband and I have done together. -The space in inside of Heartsong Music, and early childhood development music school...which is where we ended up taking our kiddo...and still do. Cons -You can't stay pregnant forever! The good thing though is that she now offers a wonderful Post-Natal class. I need to get my rear over to it! read more

Prenatal classes that I've been to in LA have not been so full so it was nice being around other ladies in the same boat as you. I *highly* recommend Austin Prenatal Yoga and Lisa Young. I have sent every pregnant woman I know in Austin to her classes. Lisa fosters a warmly supportive environment for pregnant and postnatal women to connect with themselves, their babies, and their amazing changing bodies--as well as with each other in a strong community of support. She is highly effective in guiding mamas at truly all levels (from first-timers to skilled yogis) to access the benefits of yoga. She leads class clearly and articulately, and throughout every class seamlessly provides pose alternatives and adjustments to make each series both accessible and appropriately challenging for all skills and stages of prenatal development. Without a doubt no one strikes this balance as well as Lisa does. Every class starts with a quick check-in, which gives each mama an opportunity to share how many weeks her baby is and to make any specific requests for practice. A wonderful effect of this open check-in is that it gives attendees insight into what other mamas are experiencing, which in turn can provide comfort ("I know what I'm experiencing is normal, I've heard other mamas experienced it too"), camaraderie, an opportunity for support, and community building. Personally, in retrospect, I feel that I may have gained as much emotional and psychological value from this brief part of class as I did great physical value from the yoga itself! As with many yoga classes, each session ends with a quiet rest period. I don't think I've ever appreciated this structured rest more ;) It is also worth mentioning that Lisa is just an extremely pleasant person to interact with. She's an excellent listener and connects on in a completely genuine, open, and endearing way. read more

Make sure to show up early for Sunday class. You will be asked to leave even if you show up on time and class is over capacity. Pregnant ladies will be asked to leave even if they drive a long way to make it to class. There is no pre-signup system to secure your spots. So be prepared when you haul your heavy body all the way across town and then was asked to leave when there were 40 pregnant women sitting literally next to each other already. read more

If you would have asked me when I got pregnant with my 1st child if I would be doing prenatal yoga or do natural childbirth I would have laughed! well by 14wks I was doing prenantal yoga and determined to give birth drug free! I did both. I LOVED Lisa and her class. It was relaxing, helpful, and almost like a mommy to be support group. I recommend her to all my friends for prenatal yoga. We are now expecting baby #2 and I need to get back to her class and we are doing her birthing workshop class as a refresher for labor day. I attended Lisa's prenatal yoga classes through both of my pregnancies. She is a fantastic and patient instructor, and I always looked forward to going to class. Her classes are great for all levels of practice -- they can be challenging for the seasoned yogi, or gentle for the beginner. I had a lot of discomfort in both of my pregnancies and this yoga class is the only thing that would make me feel better and help me sleep! At the beginning of class, each student says their name, how far along they are and any questions or issues they're having with pregnancy. It's a safe, comforting environment for mamas to connect and be supported. I highly recommend Lisa's prenatal yoga classes to all pregnant mamas. Lisa and her prenatal yoga class are awesome! I'm 33 weeks and have been attending her class regularly (1-3 times a week) since I was at week 13/14. You can tell she really cares about her students and makes yogis of all levels (beginner through experienced) feel at ease. The flows and poses she focuses on are all perfect for preparing your body for labor and birth and having a more comfortable pregnancy. I've had minimal back/hip/shoulder/etc. pain and baby is heads down and positioned well for birth, and I attribute much of that to attending Lisa's class. It's also such a fun, warm environment being around so many other prego ladies and a great time for sharing tips, tricks, and stories and meeting other mamas. The prices are very reasonable as well. I'm 21 weeks pregnant, and have been stressed out of my mind! My husband goes out of town for work so I am left with all house and dog duties and it can get to be a bit much. I don't know anyone in Austin, so I feel very alone and like I can never unwind. I came to this class for that reason. Lisa is amazing, and I literally was in tears from how relaxed I finally got to feel for the first time in my entire pregnancy ! I felt strong again, and empowering, and just at peace with all the stress I was feeling. The smell of the incense, the soft and almost hypnotizing music, and Lisa's voice...I was convinced I was on a beach in Hawaii. It's worth the money, I'm going to try an make it every class. I attended my first prenatal yoga class with Lisa this past weekend, and it was wonderful. There were about eight of us taking the class with plenty of space to move and share. I really enjoyed the class. We did actual yoga. (I've been to a classes elsewhere where we didn't do much. I felt like we just kind of rolled around. I'm pregnant, not disabled). Anyway, afterward I felt like I had a workout that was nourishing for my body and soul. It's only offered on Sundays from 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM, but I can't wait to go again. read more

I have attended several prenatal yoga classes across Austin, and this one is my favorite. I drive an extra 30 mins. to come here. What sets this prenatal class apart is that you really feel like you've had a workout when you leave. Lisa is very knowledgeable about modifications and listens to people's concerns before class to work out specific areas of the body. I adore this class! and Lisa is very good yoga instructor and so nice. I was a beginner at yoga and thought that this was going to concentrate on breathing and relax but no, it is a real class only more made for pregnant women that focus on muscles in the abdomen and stretching hips in order to prepare for labor with less pain. Additionally, we share our experiences and if some pain is bothering she help us to teach us techniques to reduce those symptoms. I really recommended this class. Since the very first time I was convinced and go every afternoon alter office and helps a lot to relax. After I give birth i will give you my update to see how helped me in delivery but really go to this class is really good,. you have to try it at least once :) read more

I absolutely LOVED my experience with prenatal yoga. Lisa is amazing and I truly attribute my successful natural labor to my yoga practice. I felt so connected to my baby through yoga and I always got exactly what I needed when I went. The camaraderie, the support, and the friends I made during my pregnancy will forever be one of my fondest memories. I'm honestly quite sad that I'm not pregnant anymore because I miss my prenatal yoga!! This class is incredible and Lisa is such a sweet lady and amazing instructor! She truly cares about each and every woman's needs so much that each class she does introductions and asks what's been hurting each person and what they would like to work on! It feels like a family environment! She also never pushes you and encourages you to relax and take breaks as needed! I went to my first class this passed Sunday and it was great! I am 28 weeks and having some serious lower back pain and general uncomfortability (may not be a word lol) but the poses and stretches were perfect for my trouble areas! I was worried that it would be too lax and annoyingly "soft" as some people act as if being pregnant means you are made of glass, however, it was challenging when necessary to get more of a stretch and easier in other spots. Lisa is super helpful and calming- I will definitely be back!! read more

I started attending Lisa's prenatal yoga classes when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my first child and found it to be such a wonderful, relaxing experience. She will remember your name, make you feel welcome no matter your experience level (mine was very little), guide you through an energizing workout, show you how to modify poses for your ever-changing preggo body, and help you feel calm and centered by the end of class. Thank God lisa offers a postnatal class! I attended prenatal yoga with lisa when I was pregnant with my first child in 2010. I LOVED it. I had never practiced yoga before I was pregnant. Lisa is so gentle, so inspiring,so empowering, and incredibly knowledgable. Through her practice I gained a sense of self, she taught me how to really tune into my body,I learned about challenges of birth, and how to trust my body. She taught us about the challenges and joys of motherhood and left me with a life long skill and love of practicing yoga. When I became pregnant with my second child in 2014 lisa was one of the first people I told outside of my family. I was so excited to begin practicing with her again. I can't say enough about her class. She guides you through strengthening your body to prepare for birth and her postnatal class guides you through toning your body after birth. I had always wanted to go yoga, but felt to intimidate to go. I decided to start prenatal classes with Lisa and I love them. She is very accommodating and helps you modify and adjust as your body grows. I feel much more relaxed and calm after attending yoga.
