There was a small incident where our bus got in a collision to no fault of their own. The literal worst service I've ever experienced in my life. It felt like a bad dream honestly. The first bus over heated and caught on FIRE. The bus driver had to use a fire extinguisher to put it out and didn't even tell us to evacuate. The bus was clouded with fumes. We had to evacuate on our own. Not to mention the torn seats, the speaker falling from the walls, the ac leaking on my back as I sat on the seat. We were stranded for over an hour. They brought another bus that honestly may have been worse. This 2ND bus had literal birds nests in the broken ac units. There was a giant crack on the ceiling. The door wouldn't even close because it was BROKEN. Honestly had to laugh to keep from crying. We were late to our reservation. When I called and expressed my disappointment and frustration the person who called himself the owner CRIS yelled at me and hung up in my face countless times. This man was so irate and unapologetic/unprofessional I can't even believe it. He hung up in my face 3x. Honestly just check out the pictures attached. I wish I also had one of the fire. What a dangerous company. I expect a thorough apology for the way that man cussed at me one of the 32 customers on that bus. He has no conflict resolution skills. I would give 0 stars if I could. When booking I spoke to Mike and he was very helpful and check that the dates I wanted were available. We booked and when the time came, the bus showed up with the nicest driver. He was very knowledgeable of Austin and gave us front door service everywhere we went. We rented the bus for 6 hours which was plenty of time to hit all the places we wanted to go. Bus: The rate was so much better than every other place I found that I worried the bus would be shabby. Not so. Bench-style limo seating, hardwood floors, good sound system, and a pole for dancing. My birthday guests were all impressed. Service: Our driver Mike quickly answered every question I had in the weeks leading up to the event (and I had a lot). He gave us an excellent rate, arrived on time, and was very polite and accommodating. We were a loud, rowdy birthday crew, but he never seemed to mind. The first toob place we visited was sold out, so he called another and even got us a group rate! Overall: Very happy, no complaints. We purchased a MooLaLa deal for a 5hr wine tour from Sixth Street Rides for up to 15 people. The deal was supposed to end before we were able to get the group together but Sixth Street Rides was very accommodating on extending our deal to March (2 months after the deal was supposed to expire). Mike handled our requests including moving the date and giving us suggestions on where to go with complete respect and professionalism. I received a confirmation the day before as well as our driver, Chris, called us 20 mins before our pick up time. We had a couple hiccups (including running late - as 15 girls tend to do - as well as running late at our last winery stop) but Chris handled it with the utmost patience and ease. We rented from these guys for a Bachelor Party and they were absolutely wonderful. It was a last-minute decision to book a bus so we ended up having two drivers, because they had to scheduled something at the last minute, and both were entirely friendly, professional and helpful. We wanted to find a bar with a mechanical bull and they helped us track one down. There communication was perfect, it was always easy to reach them and they were super flexible at the end of the night, allowing us to extend our trip for as many hours as we wanted for an hourly rate. In the end we only stayed out another hour, and they gave us the extra hour for free. Also, because it was a late booking, they offered us their 25 person bus for the 20 person bus rate. The sound system was enough to give everyone permanent hearing loss and the dancing pole and hand holds proved to be incredibly robust and secure! These guys are AWESOME, and I would DEFINITELY book from them again in a heartbeat. read more

I had a living social deal for a group ride to New Braunfels river float. I was using it for a bachelorette party I was planning and we all were coming from out of town from various states to Austin. I had booked the ride and the employee said he would be able to take us all at 9am. Well, the day before when I was already in Austin I called him to make sure everything was ok and he said he couldn't do it anymore. #1 I had to call him to confirm and let him know we were had no other choice at this point and we we are all from out of town. #2 He started to be rude and said that he was doing me a favor in the first place. If he would have the courtesy to call me even a few days before I could have booked with someone else, but I was slightly in a bind since we had just flown to Austin to celebrate a bachelorette. We luckily had a friend there and she found another bus to take us. Thumbs down on his attitude, professionalism and service. Can't say anything good about this company. We booked our trip to Lake Travis three weeks in advance, and got confirmation from Mike, the owner, that we were good. He said he would follow-up the week of. This never happened, and he did not return any of our e-mails, until we finally caught him on the phone the day before, to which he confirmed everything was good to go. The morning of, he claimed to only have one bus running (while I truly believe he only has one to begin with), and would be 15 minutes late. This turned into 30, then 45, until the point that he said he could not make it. If we got a ride to the Lake, he would take us back. He refused to pay for our cab fare (there were 15 of us) saying "he didn't have that kind of money", although this was clearly his fault. He blamed the ride before us for giving him bad directions. Isn't that the job of a bus driver to know where he is going? After arguing, he finally called an airport shuttle to come and get us (which only fit 14) and it showed up 75 minutes past our scheduled pick-up time. Sure enough, we missed the party barge and had to pay for a water taxi to take us to the boat. Mike promised to be there to pick us up, however he lied here too. Turns out he double booked his trips, and got someone else off the same boat as us, and said a bus should be there any minute for us. We waited just over an hour before someone came (and not him). He called the same service at 5pm (our pick-up was 5:15pm) to come and get us (he had all day to plan this out). They were quick to note they are based out of the airport, which takes an hour to get to Lake Travis. Buyer beware - this guy is on every deal site, which is his entire business plan. We bought from Groupon, so our trip was prepaid. He wouldn't offer a refund, only a free ride at another time (why would we ever call this guy again?) If you want to miss out on your plans and stay stranded for over two hours, then Mike is your guy. Sixth Street Rides is a scam. One guy. One bus. Zero business sense. read more

I didn't even want to read the horrible reviews left for Sixth Street Rides because I know that whatever happened to make the reviewer's situation poor, it probably wasn't their fault. I have had MANY awesome experiences with this company!! They are totally affordable and flexible. The first time we used Sixth Street Rides a large group of us were headed way out to Lago Vista for a wedding. We used the regular bus and were allowed to bring on our own coolers full of beer and booze. They arrived promptly and also picked us up at the exact time we asked. The driver (also the owner?) is totally fine with loud music and seems to be really chill about rowdiness on the bus! The other times we've used Sixth Street Rides was to take a huge group down to Kyle for the Randy Rogers concerts. We've done this twice to date, and truly it's the bus experience that keeps the party going! Again they are totally cool with bringing on our own alcohol.. and are fine with us standing and dancing and basically tearing it up! I think they have 2 different buses to choose from. For basic travel I'd use the regular seated "short bus" (for lack of better words!).. but if you're having a special event, definitely ask to take the party bus.. it's got seats around the edges and a stripper pole option.. makes for interesting rides home! I know we will use this company MANY times in the future.. they've been a life-saver to keep us from driving after too many apple juices ;) read more
