I absolutely cannot recommend this practice. Two endodontists here missed my MB2 canal, causing me immense pain. Dr. Galvan missed it when he did the first root canal treatment in 2019, which is probably why I got another infection in the same tooth in June of this year. Dr. Daigle missed it again, which is probably why I had awful pain and swelling after the second botched RCT. I had to go to another endodontist at another practice to have the procedure done properly. Furthermore, this place was filthy, which unfortunately I didn't notice until after the procedure. There was dust caked on various surfaces, and the moldy cherry on top of the sundae of filth was the assistant touching her mask with her gloved hand during the procedure and not re-gloving. (Obviously I wasn't in any position to say anything at the time.) Additionally, they charged for CBCT even though it's apparently not in accordance with their contract with Delta Dental as an in network provider. DD did not cover it, but It clearly states on my EOB that if I choose an in network provider, I do not have to pay for it. I guess they just hope nobody looks at their EOBs. I was also offered a refund for the botched RCT, but I have yet to see that. So basically they owe me a refund for the full amount I paid - the RCT that was done incorrectly, and the CBCT they never should have charged me for in the first place. I may have to report to Delta Dental as well as OAG, but we'll see if these crooks/incompetents come through! read more

I highly recommend for your endodontic needs. The office is nested in an office park building, so if it's your first visit, give yourself ample time to find the right building and parking. The office is a very comfortable place for endodontic procedures.  Waiting area isn't cramped, and the reception personnel are friendly. I expected a lot of scary dental noise, but not here! The assistant explained things I needed to know about my referral before I met with the endodontist. It was non-threatening. My first appointment went well; the endodontist performed a root canal and explained the issues they discovered with my x-rays. A follow up was scheduled. That appointment went smoothly. Billing wasn't challenging; the office worked with my insurance on my behalf. If you have endodontic needs, this is the place to go. read more

Rebecca is the rudest, most inconsiderate, unprofessional liar I've ever had the disadvantage of dealing with. Rebecca informed me that, even though I didn't have a contract, that I would have to pay approximately $1600 for RE-TREATMENT on a tooth that the office already worked on since it had been two years. When asked for her to provide proof of contract, she could not do so. Rebecca was unwilling to work with me on any level as far as adjusting the price. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

The front desk staff at both locations are SO RUDE! I immediately called my dentist and asked for a different reference. They clearly did not care about the patient, rushed through the call, and acted like they had never been in a customer service role before. I was mind blown after my 3 minute call. Will never recommended this place to anyone and will let my dentist and surgeon know about this. read more

The absolute worst customer service ever. Rebecca is the worst person to deal with. She has no business etiquette . They over charge up front and it takes over a month now going on two months to get your refund. She never returns your calls and when she does return your call she has not a clue who she is talking to. I will admit that my care from Dr Ganne and her technician was great even though I ended up losing my tooth. I will never recommend this office to anyone unless they can afford to wait month after month for you to get your refund back. The "office manager Rebecca" is the rudest person that I have ever spoke to and she needs to be fired. read more

The day came when I need a root canal, I was referred to a different office I wasn't feeling comfortable with them. I reached out to Austin Endodontics, LLP and Candace answered my call. This is where the best experience I've ever had getting a root canal. Candace went above and beyond to get me in ASAP then explained the process and truly cared about the level of pain I was in. I went in and was seen quickly with Ally guiding me through the process. They made sure to take every Xray to have a full view and understanding of the issue. Ally had me prepped and ready in no time. Dr Galvan came in and was able to get me numb and honestly the shots weren't bad. He was quick friendly and you can tell he has plenty of experiance. In and out job complete and the following day I felt so much better. From this point forward I will make sure to refer anyone I know to their office. Aside from the Doctor the Candace and Ally both know what it means to provide great customer service. Great job! read more

I didn't want to spend the extra money, so I had my general dentist do my initial root canal. After months of pain and antibiotics I finally came here. Not only was the procedure much faster and more comfortable, but the pain was resolved immediately. I will never let a general dentist do a root canal on me again. read more

If you are contemplating where to get a root canal, LOOK NO FURTHER. I had negative pain for the numbing to the actual root canal. Come here for your root canals you won't be disappointed!!! read more

Wasn't impressed with their customer service. Root canal was more expensive compared to other places away from the "Rich"area. We were told that masks were mandatory for everyone !! Apparently their employees are immune from COVID because a few of them were not wearing masks even though they interacted with patients. No sanitizing of chairs once patients rotated through waiting area. read more

Had root canal done before. Wanted to go to them again. Asked why the out of pocket portion was higher than others in my insurance network: Bianca "we were told to explain that it's because we are on the nicer side of town then the other specialists" read more

Dr. Ganne is wonderful! She's kind and gentle, and always makes sure you are comfortable throughout the treatment process. Dr. Ganne is very knowledgeable and informative. The staff are courteous and polite. I'm very thankful I was referred to Dr. Ganne! read more

Let me start by saying that I have a huge phobia of dentists. Tears, high blood pressure, shaking--the whole lot. I went in for my consult with Dr. Galian and his Dental Assistant, Chastity. They were both so gentle, kind, understanding, and very informative. I had my root canal yesterday and my pain relief is so extreme. I was able to sleep for the first time in a month. The procedure was painless (because they set me up with a plan to deal with my anxiety). I was given estimates before the procedure and the front desk worked with my insurance. I have to make follow up appointments and I am no longer dreading the dentist. read more

Dr. Galvan performed a root canal with calcified roots for me yesterday. I cannot begin to say what a wonderful experience I had. He was very professional, kind, informative, efficient, and continually asked if I was doing okay. His assistant, Chastity, made sure I had everything I needed for my recovery before I left the office. She also performed brilliantly during the procedure. The office staff, especially Cathi, is also first-rate. Definitely a five-star experience for what is admittedly a most unpleasant procedure! I absolutely recommend this team! read more

While I did find the technician to be very friendly, my experience wasn't one I would want to repeat. None of it was intentional, I'm sure, but I did leave with a literal bad taste in my mouth. It started with not getting my mouth numb with initial shots (which has always been a problem for me and one I had informed them of). The doctor proceeded to give additional shots, nicking my tongue with the needle (very painful and caused bleeding) while doing so, and went straight to work. The rubber covering they use to surround the tooth wasn't properly placed so when they did the first shot of the stuff injected towards the bottom of your roots, it went straight down my throat gagging me and causing the reaction of immediately sitting upright. A rinse and pause to recover and the rubber covering was put back in place ... incorrectly once again ... this time causing the feeling I'd attribute as waterboarding with trying to keep up the swallowing action as fast as you can for all the extra water being pumped into your mouth. Coughing up water I again sat straight up. Thankfully the 3rd time was the charm and nothing else ended up in my throat; however, by then, I was done with the experience. A sincere apology would have been appreciated, but guessing that wasn't provided for fear of acknowledging the mistakes? I don't know, but I won't be returning. read more

January, 2016 Just wanted to update this review. I have been back quite a few times. I have been unfortunately cursed bad teeth. Anyway, I have seen Dr. Galvan quite a few times over the past couple of years and he is still the best! The staff is so great too. Also, I feel like their prices are fair as well! I had my first root canal done by Dr. Doughty, I loved him so much that I had to come back to Austin Endodontics. Dr. Doughty was not available so I had my root canal done (a different tooth!) by Dr. Galvan. I can not say enough nice things about this place! They make a not-so-great experience quite all right! I highly recommend both Dr. Galvan and Dr. Doughty. The staff is great too, very accommodating!! read more

Some of the worst business etiquette I have ever experienced from the front office. I wouldn't trust these people with my teeth in the slightest. I asked a friendly, basic question about crowns, and in the middle of it the lady goes "Hey I've never met you I don't know about YOUR teeth" and put me on hold without explanation. This is supposed to be a "higher end" medical doctors office. You can tell these endodontics offices are used to taking people for all they've got, with little responsibility regarding the actual care or courtesy to those people as human beings. You only end up in these offices for a brief time, they don't need to earn your business because you were referred, and many people come desperately in severe pain all of which they know and take fully advantage of. I hung up on them saying "F this". I recommend you shop around carefully for an endodontist who actually wants to earn your business! read more

Dr. Galian is a true professional, did a retreat of root canal no questions asked, highly recommend, wouldn't go anywhere else.

First of all, no one wants to get a root canal. But I was mostly surprised because it cost over $1300 for one tooth and I was told insurance would cover it and then it did not. Finally, I'm not even convinced I needed a root canal. The pain continued after the procedure so it's possible my dentist told them the wrong tooth. That really hurts! read more

My experience at Austin Endodontics was above and beyond what I expected. I needed a dreaded procedure and didn't want to have general anesthesia, so my nerves were already ratcheted up to an eleven, but add the Covid layer, and I was basically a nervous wreck. The office was clearly taking every necessary step to both prevent any Covid exposure and to keep the minds' of their patients at ease. I was asked to walk in RIGHT ON TIME (not early) for my appointment. When I did so, I was the only person in the waiting room. I filled out a survey and was temped, obviously everyone was masked, and when I quipped that I felt like I was breaking a huge rule when I was asked to take my mask off to start X-rays they said, "we are all masked and all of the other mitigations are covered, too!" The procedure went well, Dr. Galvan and his assistant Lecretia made me incredibly comfortable and I made it through with just gas and local numbing. I honestly wish they provided general dentistry! I would be eager to book my bi-annual cleanings. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Dr. Galvan and the staff are very helpful and conscientious. There have been a couple of times that I was not even charged for simple services that I received. He has caught some dental challenges that the dentist missed. I'm hoping not to need further endodontic work, but if I do, it is the only office that I will go to. read more

I can not say enough good things about Austin Endodontics. I have had my 3rd root canal done by this group. The first two, I had done by Dr. Doughty. He was outstanding so I was worried when this time I was to see another endodontist, Dr. Ganne. When I met her, I immediately felt safe with her. My intuition about people is very accurate. Dr. Ganne was compassionate, kind, professional and clearly did an excellent job. She was gentle and I had no distress during or after the procedure. She was outstanding as an endodontist. If I could give her 10 stars, without hesitation I would do so. After experiencing two endodontists now, I would not go anywhere else to have work done on my teeth. read more

I've had 2 root canals by Dr Galvan and had to have both extracted and replaced with implants at huge expense. The first one after two months I woke up with the tooth completely broken off and laying in the front of my mouth. The roots had to be extracted by an oral surgeon then an implant. The second one I went in May 2015 . I asked him to make double sure that the tooth wasn't cracked, he didn't do extra checking just assured me that it wasn't. I spent the whole summer sick with chills, sore throat, too many things to list. I went to numerous specialists had all sorts of test, took all sorts of medicine. I finally realized my problems started a couple of weeks after the last root canal. My endodontist extracted the tooth and I started getting better. My husband was referred to Dr Galvan by our dentist last week, he said No Way . read more

I had to get a root cannal (BOO) and was scared to death! Dr. Erik J. Galian made the process very quick and pain-free.

Dr. Galvan root canal today, Dec 30, 2019, was the second I have received from him. I will never go to anyone else. The staff is great, Dr. Galvan is skilled, confident, and quick. After this root canal today, I did not need ANY pain meds, NONE. and to boot, all my lumbar pain, chest and thoracic pain and hip pain and leg muscle pain that I had for a long time subsided completely. Again I needed no ibuprophen, no pain meds at all. Dr. Galvan is a God send to all those who find him. Thank you Dr. Galvan and your staff, who are on the level of angels sent to help others. read more

Had a root canal done here a while back and was lucky to have Dr. Galian and his assistant. They were both super nice, talked me through everything, & didn't make me feel like the stupid baby I am, when it comes to dental work. It was mostly painless, way way easier than I thought, and they were pretty quick. I immediately filled my antibiotic & vicodin prescriptions and was pretty comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

I recently had surgery preformed by Dr. Galian. The surgery smooth, painless and successful. More importantly there was a billing issue and the front office staff was more than helpful to get it correctly. I was initially very unhappy about the errant billing but I was pleasantly surprised that they were willing to work with me and do what it took to please the customer. Stand up practice that I would highly recommend! read more

I'm somewhat convinced that Dr. Galvan, hands down, may be the best endodontist to ever have been produced by his profession. His warm and gentle manner, his consummate professionalism, and his technical ease rank among the highest of any medical professional I've encountered. read more

I was contacted by a manager at Austin Endodontist and also by the front desk clerk who had been rude. They both apologized and gave me updated information on my treatment. Dr. Galian is the way to go when needing a root canal. I had my very first root canal ever and was extremely apprehensive and nervous. His staff was warm and caring and put me at ease. Dr. Galian was so good at what he does that I did not even feel a thing. He was extremely professional and skilled at what he does. I guess that's why he's a specialist. His root canal was the most pleasant dental work I have ever done and that is quite a bit!! read more

I had to come here because they took my insurance. Dr. Doughty was the doc. He was nice, patient, and focused. My root canal didn't hurt like I thought it would! I'm very happy. read more

Dr. Galian is the best. My dentist referred my 11 year old daughter to another endodontist who said she needed a root canal. I sought a second opinion. Dr. Galian said that since the tooth was not infected and she was young, it might be possible to get by with a filling and probably a cap when she gets older. The tooth in question was a problem tooth that had been filled twice before. I believe it was a tooth that didn't form properly. My daughter was very anxious but Dr. Galian and the staff were very good and patient with her. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Although this is a happy end story, I'd like to share my experience with fellow patients. In July, 2018, my husband had his root canal redone by Austin Endodontics. The procedure was performed satisfactory, no complications so far. He was charged $851 and was told that it was his balance allowed by the insurance, so he paid in full. When we received the statement from the insurance company, it became apparent that he was overcharged by about $600, and so our long and exhausting struggle with the business manager Joy began to get the refund. At first we were told that Austin Endodontics was out-of-network, which was not true, then that the claim was processed incorrectly, which was true, but they did nothing to correct that. They already received more money than the job was worth, so why bother? To make a long story short, it took us seven months, a dozen calls and emails to Austin Endodontics, a half dozen emails to the insurance company, a complaint to Attorney General, and a complaint to BBB to resolve the issue and finally receive the refund from Austin Endodontics. The complaint to BBB proved to be the most effective -- at least we promptly received responses to all the inquiries, and Austin Endodontics finally managed to contact the insurance company to expedite the reprocessing of the claim. Bottom line: If you happen to have dental service at Austin Endodontics, which I do not recommend, be aware of that they put their profit first, make sure that you have a detailed treatment plan, get the estimate from your insurance company, and don't pay a penny more than it is stated as your balance. read more

I have to agree that Dr. Galvan is Amazing! I have an actual phobia of needles, and poor dental insurance. He was patient regarding my phobia and had a neat technique to deal with it. He also ran the cost of everything by me because I was "boot strapping" it at the time. Not to mention the root canal I had done was almost pain less, I thought those things were suppose to hurt! read more

I had 2 root canals done at once. I was able to get an appointment the next day and was seen right on time with no waiting. Dr Doughty was great. He discussed everything that we were doing and was obviously concerned about my pain. His assistant was very kind and put me at ease. The office is very nice and their equipment super modern. As far as getting a root canal goes, this was as painless and pleasant as I could have hoped for. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, 10 out of 10. I would recommend Austin Endodontics South to anyone who needs a root canal. Great! read more

I am very pleased with Austin Endodontics. I needed a root canal done asap and they were very accommodating. Dr. Galvan is superb! He patiently explained each step involved in the procedure and gained my trust immediately. Likewise, his assistant Lettie was great - friendly, helpful and very caring prior to, during and after the procedure. The front desk personnel are all pleasant and go the extra mile to answer questions or help with any issue. I highly recommend Austin Endodontics - wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

NO NO NO!!! I had a root canal with Dr. Galian a few years ago, and it was like that spy movie with Dustin Hoffman (can't recall the name). He hit a nerve, and I almost hit the ceiling. Even with the numbing! He wouldn't stop, even though I was flailing around and sorta screaming as I could get the sound out. I'll never forget it. Lord, do not go to him. He had way too many patients he was squeezing in, and by golly, he was going to finish. Kept saying, "almost done." No, he wasn't. read more

MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER! I had root canals done in San Antonio with a minimum of pain, but the root canal done by Dr. Galian was the most painful procedure ever. Instead of giving me antibiotics for the infected tooth and having me come back at a later date, he proceeded to inject the root at least six times. My treshold for pain is pretty high but I was crying so much he would have to stop the procedure. He would then pat me on the shoulder and tell me to relax while he left the room (probably to torture his other patients). Towards the end his assistant was in tears, too. He then had her administer laughing gas to "relax" me while he finished the root canal. To add insult to injury, when I checked out I was told they wouldn't charge me for administering the gas! Well, thank you very much.I walked away in tears, but I should have sued for emotional distress. Never, ever, again. read more

I had to get a 2nd opinion about a tooth that was dying. My regular dentist did not tell me after a root canal a week ago that the tooth was most likely not salvageable. He said come back in 6 weeks, we'll x ray it. I assumed all was well. When I continued to be in more pain than before the root canal; the office (the dentist relayed to his desk girl) said....that sounds about right. When I called a 2nd time a week later they said oh some root canals can hurt for up to 6 weeks. By now I know something isn't right. I found Dr. Daughty online and went in for a recheck. Even the knowledgeable assistant was floored by all the things wrong w the tooth. The post from root canal did not reach the root probably bec it was PERFORATED, THERE WAS AN UNTOUCHED CANAL THAT WAS A CONDUIT FOR INFECTION, AND THERE WAS A HUGE ABCESS. At first Dr.D thought that with some work; the tooth might be saved. He numbed me up and got to work immediately. After less than 20 minutes he stopped working and said nothing could be done to save it. All my insurance had been used up with the last dentists' root canal. I had been quoted 1600.00 and was ready to go into my savings to deal with this tooth. Dr. D didn't charge me for anything!!! He knew I was paying out if pocket. I was so relieved to have a proper diagnosis and no charge??? Wow Dr. D!!! Thank u thank u thank u!!!! read more
