We looooove Austin Barber! Austin has a father / son package that we do on Saturday mornings. He's the first person to cut my son's hair without it looking like dumb and dumber!!! He's wonderful, you must go! read more

I have trouble finding barber shops. This surprises me, because I basically want the simplest haircut ever. Long enough to comb to a part on top, tapering toward my ears and neck with high-ish sideburns. I agonized a fair bit over finding a barber in Austin after having had the same one for 6 years in Seattle, but Trisha and Austin Barber Shop have hooked me up well. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon, and Trisha was just closing up, but took me in anyway. She wasn't the most bubbly person I've ever met, but she was nice and chatted a bit (but not too much) while she gave me exactly the hair cut I wanted. The cut was only $16. Great hair cut, great prices and a nice barber. It's hard to ask for anything more. read more

Trisha is a hidden gem in Austin. She works quiet and slow, paying attention to detail. In 15 minutes she had given me the best haircut I've had in years--only to give me the best advice on product for my hair afterwards. High recommended, just go. read more

Austin Barber Shop - Simply put, I've never had a better fade or more meticulous haircut--especially with clippers. - Barbers Near Me - Austin, Texas

First off, I just want to say that Trish is a very nice and kind lady. The whole time she was sweet and gracious. However, I am forced to give a 1 star review because of the haircut I received. I had showed Trish a photo of what I wanted, and it was a high fade from a 1 to about a 1/2. After she had finished cutting my hair, it was very noticeable in the back that there was no fade whatsoever, and the fades on the sides were clearly uneven. I asked her to fix it of course, but it was clear she was not going to give me a proper fade. Since the business is called a barbershop, I would have expected the barber to be able to give a basic fade. She used a razor to finish off the edges and even managed to cut me twice. I thought "Okay, at least it's a one $ on Yelp, so I can just get this fixed up elsewhere." She charged me $21 for a bad haircut. I immediately went to another haircut place nearby and received many shocked reactions at the state of my hair. I don't typically write reviews, but I feel that this one is necessary and justified. read more

Ok, Austin has three types of barber shops. There's the hipster-fied barber shop. There's the chains. Then, there's the real deal. Austin Barber Shop run by Trish is clearly the third one-- the real deal. After scouring Yelp for options after the retirement of my barber and the previous debacle with a chain, I decided to give Trish a try and I'm very glad I did. Trish has great hours (open until 6:30) and you can make an appointment online. Fair warning, though, that she only accepts cash and check. She's got three chairs at her shop, but she's the only one there. She said that she'd like to hire another barber, but that most stylists these days have a cosmetology license as opposed to a barber's license. The important part, my haircut. She immediately observed all that the previous barber had done to my hair and did her best to reverse the damage. She did a great job on that. She spends some time with her work and listens well. And to add to the old school barber shop feel, she does a lot of the trimming of the neck, sideburns, and around the ears with an old fashioned straight razor and hot lather. As further proof of her authentic barber credentials, she asked without prompting about trimming between your eyebrows. She's excellent about the use of towels and a hairdryer to avoid hairs going down your collar. I'm eager to see how she does with the next time when there's less damage to undo. read more

I spent a couple of months watching barber shop personnel not be masked, properly (those noses!) and Austin Barber's website makes it clear that he is intent of provided safe services. And upon the perfect job he did, I heard his own personal reasons for being as safe as possible in a public-service job. TOP MARKS to Austin Ford, therefore. A great haircut and a great experience. I'll be back. read more

I walked in on a Friday afternoon and no one was there except Trisha. I felt a little weird, just because I'm used to Avenue Barber Shop on South Congress, which always has a long wait and all of the barbers are male, but I was in a bit of a hurry and my "don't be an asshole" side was telling me not to be sexist, so I decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. I knew it was a good sign when I sat down and the first thing she said when looking at my head was, "So you had it tapered, last time. Did that work out for you?" It's been awhile since my last hair cut, so to be able to tell that from a quick look impressed me. She proceeded to cut while we talked about the business, her son, and my move to North Austin. I hardly realized I was getting my hair cut. Trisha was very professional and patient with her cutting. Be sure you have some time to sit while getting your hair cut. A good cut will take 20-30 minutes, but it's well worth it. When she was done, she straight razored the back of my neck with hot foam, which I was used to from Avenue, but then she pulled a hot towel out of a warmer and covered my neck and face. I wasn't expecting that, but it was awesome. Bottom line: This place offers great hair cuts and great service at a great price. It's cheaper than most places I've been and the quality is top notch. Try it our at least once! Note: This place was formerly known as Capitol City Barber Shop. Read their reviews too to get a better idea. read more

Hubby went to get a high and tight and the lady cut him up and didn't cut his hair even. Same price as Floyds, and they do a MUCH better job. Will not go back. This town needs more barbers. read more

Tried because I was in the neighborhood and had heard great things. Walked out with an unfortunate boxy haircut. Not only was the cut boxy, but I asked for scissors on top and she used clippers. Bottom line was a mediocre haircut that wasn't worth the price and made me look worse when I walked out the door. I'll be sticking with my regular guy. read more

Parked right out front of this place for five minutes and came back to a boot on my car. Great service guys! Can I get a free haircut with my $100 boot fee?? read more

Goodness ... been going to Trish for so long I didn't think people had the heart to give her any less than 6 stars across the board. Trish is old school. If you want something cute and fancy, for the Love of everything Holy this is not your place. If you want a no BS, highly competent haircut, this is your gal. Trish won't cookie cut the corners, she's up front and that's refreshing. My haircuts are always consistent, she knows exactly what I want, and you only have to tell her once. She'll trim ears, eyebrows, anything she thinks looks off. I went to all the others before I found Trish. Haven't left her in 5+ years. Hot shave of the neck and ears followed by a warm towel to clean up? Does anyone do that any more?! Like I said, this woman receiving any less than 6 stars is a travesty in Austin. read more

This was my boyfriends first time here. He had been growing out his hair for a while(shoulder length), but had not had it styled and needed a trim. We went in to her telling us he doesn't need a hair cut and was not listening to what he was saying. She was very nice, but only said about 10 words to is the whole time. While my boyfriend was getting his hair cut, I sat and watched her cut way more than a trim. She proceeded to cut the top short and left the bottom long. My boyfriend walked out of there with a mullet. This style does not need to come back. She did the complete opposite of what he had asked. Now he has to get another haircut somewhere else. Very disappointed. read more

Trisha gives great inexpensive and classic men's cuts. The hot towels, easy conversation and straight razor finish make this place a fave. The prices are reasonable too. Go. read more

A real barbershop! Visited early Saturday morning with no appointment and didn't wait long at all for the best haircut I've gotten in Austin. Trisha is a true Master Barber and not only cut it perfectly, but gave me a shave, hot towels and all. She'll even give you recommendations on the right cut or style that you need. She takes appointments by phone or website. I recommend her highly. I know I'll be going back. read more

Amazing barber shop. Trisha is super personable and she is meticulous in her work. Scheduling an appointment was incredibly convenient - go to the website, pick a day, and select the time that works for you. 5 star customer service as well as 5 star work - what more could someone ask for? read more

A gem in the field of Austin barber shops. I love it that Trisha is not in a hurry; she does a great job slowly and professionally. And the best of all, she's not chatty! She asks you what you want, and that's it! She once told me that she realizes that men need a quiet time sometimes... She does leave the TV on though (personally I don't like it, but I manage to disconnect). Cash or check only, so one should be prepared in advance. Make sure you have a check book in the car. read more

I've been follically challenged in the cranial area for many years now... However, I started growing a beard recently and went here to get a trim. Frankly, I didn't know what I was trying to do with it, but she helped shape and tame it and also showed me how to trim it while it fills in. I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been a regular customer of Austin Ford's. His attention to detail is unmatched, and always patient and very friendly. There's always great conversation and I'm always more than satisfied with the cut. And, the straight razor shaves are very relaxing! read more

Very nice lady. I went here in a pinch. Great price! I really didn't like the fact that she only uses clippers. However, you can tell that she has a lot of experience as a barber. All in all, I got a good cut. read more

Trish did a great job on my haircut. I showed her a picture of myself taken about 6 months ago and she took her time and got it exactly right. I also wanted her to trim my beard. I have a very full, long beard and I just wanted it trimmed to match what I had 6 months ago. Trish used some clippers and a guard and completely messed up a beard I had taken a very long time to grow. It was so bad I had to use my own clippers at home to fix it by cutting it even shorter. Great Haircut. Go somewhere else for a Beard trim. read more

Trish complains a lot, and it seems like she doesn't want to be there. Overall the shave was ok but not hot except for a towel. Results of the shave were good. Wouldn't go again. read more

Trisha is wonderful. She does not rush and gives me a great cut every time. What a pleasure it is to sit in her chair and just relax for half an hour and feel taken care of. It is helpful too that I can make an appointment online, so I am not putting off that next haircut. read more

Trish cleaned up a mess of a haircut my barber of 2+ years gave me. Great attention to detail, fair price & pleasant attitude. Razor cut with hot foam and hot towel is a nice (hard to find) finishing touch. Don't be in a hurry because Trish is going to take the time to do it right! Best I have found in northwest Austin without a doubt. read more

Trish is great. I've been going there about a year after going through several other barbers that gave bad cuts or had prices over twice as much. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've yet to have a bad haircut. read more

Trish is reliable and always pays attention to details. Even though she always holds the mirror up so I can check my haircut at the end, I don't bother looking because I know she always gives me a perfect cut. It also helps that it's reasonably priced and the shop is a low- key, laid back atmosphere. read more

I found Austin Barber Shop more than a year ago and I've gone there ever since. Trisha just cuts hair, the way I want it, and that's why I go to her. She's an adult, she owns the place, it is always clean and welcoming. I'd go there just for the hot towel. Bring cash! read more

Best haircut and beard trim I ever had; how do I know this?; besides all the nice comments from my female friends, even my gay male friends were commenting on how good I looked. Trisha is excellent, great hands :-) Very relaxing, superb experience. Straight razor neck trim, hot Turkish towel too, very nice. I will only be back to Trisha for all my haircut and beard needs, you should too. read more
