Run the opposite direction.Terrible service and incompetent. I took my car in to replace plugs and coils. After I picked the car it threw a code for cylinder 7. I had another mechanic pull that coil and he found the spark plug was hand loose. They didn't bother to torque the plugs. This is incredible dangerous for an engine. They had only excuses and refused to check the other plugs when I brought it back saying I had to come back in 2 weeks. Worst mechanic I've ever encountered in 50+ years. I brought by 2002 Mercedes C320 in to have the Camshaft Position Sensor replaced. They confirmed the diagnosis (I had already researched the engine code) within an hour after I dropped it off. They gave me a very fair price and completed the work in a couple of hours. I did have an appointment, but I still was impressed with their promptness. I picked up the car and the final price charged was $2 less than the quote. I live not getting surprised when it comes to car repairs. So far the repair seems to have solved the problem and I'm happy to have my car back in a dependable state. read more

For nearly 10 years, I've been taking my cars to Austin Autohaus for all my repairs and service. In my final 12 months as an Autohaus customer, I spent well in excess of $10,000 at there. No longer. Never again. EVER. I will never go back. I don't know WHAT has happened with this shop over the past couple of years, but the quality of the repairs, the amount of time it takes to get the repairs done, and the number of times the car has needed to go back into the shop (often within 24 hours) because the repairs were done incorrectly has become completely unacceptable. For example - and I have other examples with other cars I own... I had a slight coolant drip in an E55 AMG that I own. AA told me that the radiator had a leak in it, although the drip appeared to be coming from about 18" away from the radiator. None-the-less, I trusted them to install a new radiator in the car. The very next day, my car overheats, and I notice that it's leaking radiator fluid. I put in $70 worth of new coolant so I can drive it to the shop. I get about 4 miles, when ALL the coolant leaks out of the car, as the radiator hose had not been clamped on. I had to then have the car towed to the shop. I ended up having to take the car back a total of 3 times because of overheating issues. In another case, I was having trouble with the battery draining. AA replaced my alternator and had me buy new batteries. Shortly thereafter, the "yellow" warning lights started coming back on, and the batteries were draining. AA had me buy another set of batteries, and replaced the first alternator with a second one. They also replaced a bunch of expensive things in the passenger footwell. I ended up with the car going back a 3rd time because of a "charging issue". Each time the car came back, it was more messed up than it was before. On one occasion, the car barely ran after we picked the car up - it was misfiring, the supercharger wouldn't kick in, the car would barely move, and the instrument cluster was disconnected. It didn't take an hour or a day for this to happen - it was delivered to us in that condition after "being repaired". At some point in this process, they had me buy a THIRD SET of batteries, as they kept telling me that I had "bad batteries". I must've spent $700 on batteries unnecessarily. After it came back a 3rd time, within a few days I had to take it back a 4th time. This time, they blamed the charging issue on the power seats, and they disconnected the power seats. That din't do anything to fix the problem. And the car kept getting worse and worse. After the 4th visit, the car ran PERFECTLY....for about 1 hour. Now the big nasty RED warning light came on. This whole process went on for weeks and weeks. I would estimate that the car spent well over a month in the shop - a great inconvenience. They were never able correct the issue. I couldn't stomach the idea of going back to that shop YET AGAIN. And I got tired of propping up the stock price of LYFT with all of those $35 trips to and from the shop. Not to mention all the aggravation and lost time. read more

Our car broke down less than 10 miles from their shop after paying them $1400 to fix a power steering line, repair the windshield washer and change the oil. Then they show us a phony battery cable claiming it was the problem. They had the car for 2 weeks. Never going back. read more

Go see Robert to get all of your issues solved. This place has replaced / repaired my entire transmission and several other parts on my E500 now. Extremely fair pricing coupled with their level of expertise is impossible to find for a German engineered car. From an oil change, bulb replacement, to ball joints and transmissions, this place does it all! It's sad to see one negative review by Thien N. knowing that it has a high probability of being a fake write. I say jokingly to the front desk at Autohaus "I hope to never see you again" - but when the time comes or the parts break, I know I am in good hands. My father took he's Dodge Ram to get fixed the 4x4 and to get the check engine off the dashed board , they got the other stuff done but they erase the check engine light and charged him $950 , my dad was upset Bcs the light came on again and they charged him another $80 not even a week the light came on again, supposedly it's a sensor that is not working but if my dad paid over $1,000 they should at least try and get it right. I don't recommend this shop. read more

These are honest and helpful people. My inside door wouldnt open and the stealership claimed all we could do is replace the door panel and they were quoting me over $1100. I took my car in twice to fix the engine light that came on. Scott(the owner) told me that something was wrong and charged me $350 to fix it. Not even a day later, the light came back on. I took the car back and he said that he couldn't find anything wrong. A few months later I took it back, he said it was some sensor problem. I paid another $400 to get that fixed. Two days later the light came back on. Same thing, he couldn't find anything when I took it back. Finally, I took it to Mercedes place and they fixed it for $250 and the light is now off for good. I own a 1980 300sd. I took it in to these guys because my defrost wouldn't blow...AC worked great. They recommended updating my servo...so I did. 400dollars. I returned a while later for a brake job...and also because my A/c would not turn on...defrost was working fine. They did the brake job and said the A/c...servo(which they installed) had a "loose connection". They fixed it, and it worked...for a while' NOW, when I call to inquire...I am not only questioned as to the validity of my claim, but also told that I have an open account, and owe money? "I don't know, that's what the computer says" In short, the old man in the back knows how to work on cars, but his son...who has replaced the old guy in the front/office...is a horrible business person. Rude, young, unexperienced, and non knowledgeble. Don't expect to get anywhere whatsoever with these people...not anymore...not until they figure out their front of the house. Oh, unless you can leave your vehicle for a day or two; because "thats how long it takes to figure out an electrical issue" ...which they created. read more

When I moved to Austin in 2009 I had a small problem with a burst radiator hose. At the time there was a guy named Scott who was running the place. I felt I got great fair treatment at very fair prices. I continued to bring my car there for minor services. I was always treated courteously and I felt their prices were great. One day I went in and there was a new guy, Robert, there and a new crew who seemed to speak only Spanish. I had a windshield wiper motor replaced because the old one failed. Then the replacement failed on the way back from a Dallas trip in the middle of the worst monsoon I've ever been in. Even though it had been a few months since the service they did fix it, as I hadn't used it since I picked up the car from the previous service. About a year later the motor seized and I was told I'd need a complete motor rebuild which was supposed to have been done when they did the head gasket. By that point I felt like I was being robbed. I took the car to another independent Mercedes mechanic who told me the head gasket had been replaced with the wrong part and that's why it failed and the motor seized. By this time it was 2 years out of warranty from the previous job so I had the job done by the new mechanic. The wiper motor was also investigated and I found out they took a wiper motor off a wreck and still charged me for a new wiper motor. The car has now run flawlessly for the last 3 years. I will never use Austin Autohaus again. read more
