I learned two things this week: Ford apparently believes important undercarriage components should be attached with hardware that eventually inspires creative solutions involving zip ties. The folks at Grease Monkey are exactly the kind of people you hope answer the phone when your car decides to create a new form of anxiety. My partner had recently taken my Ford Edge to Grease Monkey for an oil change. Everything went smoothly and life carried on. Until early this morning. I'm cruising down 183 at about 70 mph when suddenly there is a loud, horrifying noise coming from underneath my vehicle. The kind of noise that immediately makes you start calculating how much money you're about to spend. I pulled over, crawled underneath the car, and found what looked like a twisted, bent, angry piece of metal hanging beneath my vehicle. After a brief consultation with Google and a few moments of "what fresh automotive nonsense is this?" I realized my splash shield and oil pan cover had finally succumbed to the curse that apparently plagues many Ford Edge owners. My first call was to Grease Monkey. Not because I wanted someone to blame. I simply wanted someone knowledgeable to tell me what I was looking at and what to do next. They immediately told me to bring it in. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by some of the friendliest people I've encountered in the automotive world. They took a look, removed the damaged materials, explained exactly what needed to be replaced, told me what parts to order, and then said something that absolutely earned this review: "When the parts come in, bring it back and we'll make sure it's put on correctly." No arguing. No finger-pointing. No trying to sell me things I didn't need. No talking down to me because I'm a woman. And that last part matters. A lot. Women know exactly what I'm talking about. There are still far too many places where asking a vehicle question results in someone speaking to you like you've wandered into a physics lecture you weren't invited to. That was not the experience here. Instead, I was treated with respect, kindness, and genuine helpfulness. What impressed me most wasn't that they fixed the immediate issue. It was that they took ownership of helping me find the right solution, even when the problem wasn't necessarily their fault in the first place. That's customer service. Real customer service. The kind that's becoming harder and harder to find. So if you're looking for a place that employs knowledgeable people, treats customers like human beings, and understands that earning trust is just as important as changing oil, Grease Monkey has my vote. Five stars. read more

I dropped in for an emissions inspection and was in and out within 30 min--can't beat that! It was also really nice to see women working in the shop, which is usually a male dominated place. Thanks! read more

This was my first trip to Grease Monkey with my work fleet car and everything went very well. I was greeted promptly and promised a 20 minute wait while I could tell they were busy. It took just a little longer than that but still well within reason. The staff was attentive and friendly. The price was on par with the area and I'll definitely bring my personal car here too. They have a nice little refreshment snack bar for patrons and it's very comfortable with about 6 chairs for those waiting. I am going to recommend this place highly. read more

Great service. Blake and Olivia were great to work with. My oil change was done quickly. They also checked my AC since it wasn't working properly. Blake made recommendations on what could be wrong and advised me to have it looked at. Oil changes today aren't cheap. I used a coupon that I found on their website so that definitely was helpful. I'd come back here again. read more

I live in north Austin. Your question might be, if I had to return to the Burnet Road Grease Monkey because of an oil leak after I let the car sit for a day after the oil change, why did I give them a 5 star rating. My wife and I went back to the same location expecting pushback because of the leak and maybe a technician cranking down the filter even more. They are pleasantly different. They apologized, changed the oil filter, refilled with fresh oil, replaced the gasket on the oil plug just in case, and showed me the filter that leaked and where on the filter, supplied by Grease Monkey, it had failed. My wife was especially please when she saw that they checked the air in the tires and pulled the air filters to show you their condition. You to make the choice if you want a filter changed. For the same car, I saw the technician show the owner a car interior filter. It was good and the owner said to leave it in the vehicle. The engine filter was almost black and the owner made the right decision to have it replaced. My wife and I will be going back to the location for all of our oil changes. read more

I received HORRIBLE service! They claimed to just do a regular oil change and did NOT tighten all the bolts in the bottom that my cover came off in the highway. Horrible and scary!! They claimed to do a standard checklist told me I needed my air filter replaced and now when I took it for maintenance my lid and air filter were NEVER PUT BACK. I was driving with nothing. DO NOT GO TO THIS GREASE MONKEY! WASTE OF MONEY!! read more

When I say I will never go anywhere else for an oil change I mean it. Pros: always quote you the correct time you'll be waiting, are communicative and honest about what your car actually needs, and explain what your car needs without trying to oversell you. Jen (manager) is amazing and always super helpful and knowledgeable. Also, they have coupons on their website that are always honored. read more

rave rave rave! These folks are great, have been once for oil change and once for inspection. In and out quickly, friendly staff, comfy chairs and snacks, but most importantly the work was done well and efficiently. No hard upsell either like some other similar places. read more

It was very fortunate for us to visit here as the nearest auto shop when driving home from work became dangerous. The single bolt holding our undercarriage protector was insufficient and caused it to rip free. We had barely cracked open our complimentary cold sodas when the friendly technicians informed us they had replaced the missing bolt on each side. They secured our car and its undercarriage and denied payment. If you are nearby and looking for a stress free auto shop, this is your place! read more

I had two cars serviced here and both experiences were fantastic. Great customer service and they provided a great experience and they're not pushy on repairs and extras... Love this place! read more

Was quoted $109 (pre-tax)for an oil change. When I saw the quote, I specifically asked, "Is this the exact amount I will be charged for the oil & filter change? There will be no added costs?" They said yes, that would be the price, plus tax. Of course, they can't stick to their word and charge what they say they'll charge. They charged me $129 (pre-tax). They pointed to fine print saying the $109 was only for the first 5 quarts, and my engine held 5.8 quarts. I won't be returning. There are other service stations who will be honest with you up front. read more
