Well, I still needed to get the referral piece so I had to make a separate appointment with a local dentist in the Falls who can see my daughter tomorrow. They asked if I had xrays to send to them to speed up the process. I called back to Westermeier to ask that they send them to the dentist so I can get the referral and now Lynn tells me that Christina is 'new' and didn't know the policy and that they would not send me the xrays unless I paid $199! I told her I had been talking to Christina and she was going to send them and Lynn said she 'made a mistake.' It's really not my fault that someone is giving out wrong information but Christina also knew the dire situation we were in to try and get her teeth done. She even sent me the Hipaa form so she could release them to me. Not only is this practice cruel when telling them that my daughter was laying in pain with the impacted teeth, but they held a referral and now the xrays hostage, causing us all this unnecessary calling, trying to get appointments and running around to help her. Big deal if they give xrays for free! They only take cash payments so sure, throwing in xrays seems like a great deal but who in their right mind would pay out of pocket if they have insurance? Give me $10k and I'll figure out a way to get you xrays too! These people are horrible. I cannot believe the lack of compassion or kindness as I was crying on the phone begging them to help my daughter. Shame on them!!!!

Scheduling has been difficult, and calls are often not returned. Most recently, I took time off work and pulled my daughter out of school for a scheduled filling, only to arrive and be told their computer system was down and the procedure couldn't be completed. I've also contacted the sedation office three separate times for another child and have not received a callback. Additionally, I was told the day before a previous appointment to bring a copay for nitrous oxide, despite that never being discussed when the procedure was originally explained. There have been multiple instances where their system has been down, making it difficult to coordinate care. Overall, this practice feels disorganized and poorly managed. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it.

Our family of 5 have been patients of Winning smiles for 17 years and we have always loved it there until recently. It is nearly impossible to get through to anyone on the new phone system, billing discrepancies have been handled with threatening letters and texts. We spent hours gathering documentation on a billing issue and the only response was a letter terminating treatment. The only verbal communication that we have had has been argumentative and has provided zero resolution. We have received texts about missed appointments a week before the actual appointments. We were billed $1000 over the amount agreed upon by our insurance, which is in network, the insurance was not billed until 2 years after the start of treatment and the claim is now expired. I waited weeks to write this review in hopes that we would have an explanation or constructive plan to move forward but we only have a letter of termination of care for our daughter and email regarding late payment of an amount that no one at Winning Smiles can explain. Disappointed and sad about such a decline in what was once a great practice.

They were FAST. appointment was early 9am so that could be part of it. Almost no waiting to be called back. The hygienist was great with kids. The dentist was nice. We started bringing my 6-year-old in when he turned one, and they do the whole exam in this cute little room with fun stuff on the walls, and carpeted floor, and give them a balloon and rubber ducky on the way out. I love that it's not a typical sterile, white exam room. I think this helped my big boy to not have any aversion to going to the dentist because it started out so nicely this way. Pre-pandemic they had a game room, train table, and super cool mini movie theatre all in the waiting area. Honestly my kid wanted to go just to hang out in there. They also have tvs over every single one of their exam beds, and all the kids beds have fun disney movies playing at any given time - like Nemo, or Toy Story. I have found some bills to be pretty expensive, especially when we were between insurances, as I see others noting below. Both him, and his staff are wonderful and I completely trust them. I have already recommended Dr. Blake to several people and I would recommend him to everyone. One of the big things in finding a dentist is the trust factor, and he is hey dentist you can definitely trust with your mouth! Very passionate about his work, so don't be surprised if you get a little lecture like I did!
