This is such a beautiful experience at Aurora chocolate, listening and learning how the Taiwanese lady who inspires by the pole light and hand-made all these beautiful chocolates. Picking the chocolates is fun too, because all the chocolates have unique flavors. I picked a box of varieties, and wow! They are all amazing. Very distinguished flavor! Comparing to the other chocolatier I went before, this is definitely one of the best. You should totally check it out if you visit Anchorage. read more

This is artisan chocolate vs. candy - and will be reflected in both the taste experience price. :) Go to the shop on the south side of town (2nd floor), or watch for a limited selection around town. (They were at the Captains Cook hotel years ago, but I'm not sure if they're still offered there.) These chocolates also make great gifts, as they are exquisitely painted. Many of the designs seem to be inspired by the Northern Lights. read more

Came here to pick up some gifts to take home. The store isn't easy to find and was only able to find it after reading a review here. It's in the strip mall but on the opposite side, only building with 2 stories. Small store with lots of variety. Was given 3 samples to try and they were all delicious. A bit pricy but a great gift from Alaska! read more

You will not find fine high end chocolates than Aurora chocolates. I've traveled the world and been on every continent other than Antarctica. Their chocolates rival anything you can find in NYC, LA, Paris, London etc. You don't need to eat more than one, maybe two (because you want to try a different flavor), in one sitting. Especially good with a cappuccino or a red wine. read more

I wish I had taken a photo of the delectable chocolates before we scrounged them up! Beautifully and artistically created, each piece was a delight for the eyes and for your tastebuds. The service was so friendly and welcoming, I would love to come back! We got the Yuzu and Ruby Pom chocolates, both were so good. read more

I'd always gone to wild berry for chocolates, and while they're not bad, Aurora chocolates blew them out of the water. The chocolates are so beautifully designed and unique, each with inventive ingredient combinations that are rich in flavor without ever being overpowering. The women working the counters were so helpful and patient while we struggled to choose which chocolates we should get in lieu of buying up the whole shop :) read more

O-M-Goodness! The chocolates and treats here were fantabulous. The Dimond location is rather unassuming at first glance, located atop a building with a vacant downstairs (I haven't been to the Cap. Cook location yet). We were treated to a sampling platter upon entry (heck yes!) and that cinched for us. We splurged on a box full of bon bons, each one a decadent morsel of chocolatey goodness. The customer service was also very generous. The ladies working were more than happy to talk about what went into their products, and also were enthusiastic to answer any questions we might have. Hard to find a chocolate shop of this caliber anywhere, let alone in Alaska. I'd recommend coming and splurging in the divine. read more

Such a hidden gem! How this place hasn't blown up is beyond me. Their AURORA BONS BONS are the perfect gift. Beautiful, elegant and a for sure crowd pleaser to anyone you gift them to, even if it's just for yourself ;) You can tell that their chocolate is of the highest quality. Not too sweet or artificial tasting, just perfect! Shoutout to Jae, who was both informative and extremely helpful in the selection process as they have both milk and dark chocolate varieties. He informed us that each bon bon is hand painted, making each chocolate a unique artisanal delight! Hard to believe their chocolates could taste better than they look but I definitely recommend trying one for yourself. You won't regret it! read more

This is one of the best secret places in Anchorage! I can not believe there is a chocolate shop of this quality in the city because it should be located in Beverly Hills. I live in Los Angeles and even so chocolates of this caliber are hard to come by. So much time is put ibto each individual piece and the flavors are so unique that you will savor each and every bite! The first time you go make sure to let them know and they will walk you through a taste taste of all their delicious sweets! This is an amazing place to buy gifts for people. This is a delightful shop. We stopped by the one on Dimond Blvd, second floor. We took a minute to meet the owner and watch the video of how the art is made. A wonderful process that turns chocolate+ into an edible work of art, each one a little different as it is hand painted. Yummy! Stop by - you'll be glad you did :)))))) read more

I've had chocolates from here a couple times now and they are not only beautiful to look at they are delicious to eat. My husband has gotten some for me both for Christmas and for Valentines Day (I think twice now) and I have gone in there once with him. We have only been to the main location on Dimond but the service is wonderful. If it's your first time in there they will give you samples of the chocolates to try. The quality of their ingredients is top notch and the chocolates are so delicious. I love this place! read more

My favorite chocolates of all time. Have ordered them as treats for company Christmas parties, clients, friends, family. I don't live in Anchorage anymore, so I get them shipped. Never had any problem. The bon bons are pure art, with subtle, unique flavors, but I love their regular chocolates as well. Great party favors in the two packs. read more

I have gone to one other chocolatier and this one takes the cake. Get it? I came in with a friend who comes here often and the lady gave us a tasting which was pretty sweet. Get it? I was amazed at the flavors and how nice the owner was. In the end I got 3 different chocolates while my friend got a few candies. I will definitely come again. I think these would be great party favors for friends. Will recommend. read more

This small shop inside of the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage Alaska was a new addition for us on this trip. Being new we had never seen it on oir previous visits. Normally hotel retail stores seem to just be there for effect and less for quality goods and services. They also tend to be overpriced and have poor selections. The Sweet Chalet on the other hand is everything you would expect to find on some Soho street corner. It has an extensive eclectic collection of beautiful and exquisitely made chocolates. The presentation is there and most importantly incredible flavor and mouth feel. Smooth and balanced. The price is exactly what you would expect to pay for that high of quality. It is a world class gem. We will be back. read more

I Just walked over to Sweet Chalet Alaska from work at the Dimond Center, and YUM!!! The chocolate is wonderful, and these proprietors are a gem to work with (FREE Samples). I bought the 9 count Bon Bon as a Christmas present for my Mom in Colorado Springs, I had no idea which kinds to get, but the lady there was so patient and friendly I felt no pressure to hurry and make a decision. She had lots of ideas to help me decide and my Mom Loved them and said she would order more since I sent her their business card. They are kind of pricey, but I always say "you get what you pay for" :D I will have to go back and try some for myself. read more

Had the hardest time finding it but I'm glad I did because it was worth it(it is up stares). The chocolates were delicious and the attention I got as a customer was excellent. This place is amazing. I searched all over Anchorage for some chocolate for my 2nd anniversary and no one had anything that I wanted. Sweet Chalet not only makes amazing chocolates but their customer service was actual customer service. The proprietor made something special for us, packaged it professionally, and did it all quickly with a smile. I can't say enough good things about this business. read more

So clean and cute. Nicely organized. Read other reviews so knew it was upstairs- still felt like I was going the wrong way. Staff was so friendly and inviting- asked if it was our first time there (it was) and if we wanted to taste testing/sampling (YES!!). So delicious, LOVE the designs on the chocolates- whoever makes them is magical. The chocolate pop rocks were awesome too. Bought more than I intended (can't really help that after you sample a few and just want more) and ended up taking a few home for my mom. Will be back for sure with my mom so she can sample the chocolates too!! read more

Gourmet, artisan-crafted, world-class chocolates here in Anchorage. I wish they advertised so I would have known about this establishment sooner than happening upon them on this site. My wife, who has very simple tastes, was markedly impressed by these delightful treats. read more

My mother worked next to their shop, and got me and my brothers Easter eggs from them. The best way I manage to describe their chocolate is that the Easter egg tasted like Springtime. The flavor had transended being just good, but entered the realm of conveying emotions and simple thoughts about the rebirth that occurs during the springtime. The joy and wonder of springtime welled up inside of my chest, my depression that consumed me from winter momentarily dispelled, and a danced around my living room at the behest of this emotion. This chocolate is beyond what this meager description can portray. read more

Visited the Swiss Chalet today after spending 10 days in Alaska. The shop on Dimond St is unassuming and a little difficult to find. Once there, we were met with very friendly service, a free tasting session and information about how the Aurora truffles are made. Can't recommend this store enough. The chocolates were beautiful and just as tasty. The caramels were soft and buttery. Thankfully, they have an online store so that I can order more. read more

Where do I even start? Ingrid's chocolates are works of ART that truly taste as good as they look (add homemade and handmade? Yes please!). My favorites are the balsamic-cherry and salted caramel but there are many more exotic flavors as well. What I assumed were chocolate-topped rice krispy bites turned out to be heavenly chocolate-nut paste-crisp squares. The packaging options really finish off the presentation and I gave several assortments out as Christmas gifts this last year. Now I see she has caramels too? Count me in! read more
