Brittany exceeded my expectations. She was responsive, kind, calming, affordable, and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. I did the trial run (no regrets) and Brittany came to my home. We went over makeup options, different hair options, and veil placement options. She asked lots of questions to make sure I was comfortable with everything, her skincare prep was fabulous and my makeup looked great! She spent the time to go over each step and customized my look based on my feedback. She's a true natural and was able to take my confusing feedback and turn it into exactly what I was envisioning. On the wedding day, Brittany was such a calm and happy presence in the room. My whole family loved her. We changed a few things we had gone over at the trial, and she remembered everything! Even things I had forgotten mentioning. That meant a lot to me. Brittany truly cares about her clients and it's clear she takes her job seriously. Most people in the wedding industry just treat you like another number but Brittany was the only person in the whole process who treated me like me. Brittany also did my 13 year old's hair and makeup for the wedding. I was worried about her looking too mature but Brittany did her makeup so perfectly, it just highlighted her features in such a soft, natural way... I was honestly speechless. I'm an anxious worrier but I never had to give a second thought to my hair/makeup/veil. Brittany added body glow and left behind a little touch up kit that had everything I needed. She even helped my mom with her makeup and lashes and squeezed in a friend who needed last minute hair and makeup services. But what has kept me coming back for a monthly Brazilian and brows is quality results and a good person. She's passionate about what she does and does it well. It can be incredibly awkward to show a stranger your lady bits and trust them. I'm always comfortable and feel welcome, she's always kind and caring. Critically important things in this line of work and I'm so grateful I found her. Anyway, when she came to our suite, she brought all of her equipment with her, including power strips, which was great, as our hotel was a bit challenged with outlets. Anyway, I really like how my hair and makeup came out. She had me check a mirror periodically to ensure that I was happy. She also gave me a small kit so I could retouch my lips throughout the evening. Another thing is that she was very professional and the craziness of our hotel suite didn't interrupt her focus. She kept a friendly chatter with everyone throughout. My husband, friends, family, and my dog were all in and out of the hotel suite throughout the process. I received partial highlights that were very brassy and looked grown out the second I left the salon. I spent the day of my appointment really disappointed and bought blue shampoo to try to brighten the tone, which didn't work. I decided to call the salon and the owner called back and had me come in to fix it. I drove 30 minutes back to the salon, and when I got there I explained what I didn't like, and the stylist asked me what I wanted to do. Since I'm not the stylist I reiterated that I wasn't sure but explained the problem. He did a quick toner and dried my hair, and I felt much better. The next evening I washed my hair and all the toner came out and my hair was back to where it started. At that point I didn't feel comfortable going back because my concerns were given such a temporary fix and weren't taken seriously. An experienced stylist should know that toner wouldn't last and that I wouldn't be happy in the long run, despite the $300 price tag. I gave it a few weeks to see if I could get used to my hair, but hated it every time I looked in the mirror, so I made an appointment with a different stylist at a new salon. When I told her my experience she said she would have guessed it had been a few months since my last appointment, not a few weeks based on how brassy and grown out it was. She recommended I reach out to the salon and request a refund of some kind based on how my hair looked. I took her advice and emailed JolSalon with my concerns and photos of my hair. After a few weeks no one responded, so I called and left a message explaining that I'd like to talk about my experience. No one called me back so I emailed again asking to talk about my concerns and my experience. It's now been two months and no one has responded to me. I'm disappointed that they have handled a poor experience in such an unprofessional way. If a refund isn't available then they should be open to hearing about my experience so they can learn from it, but nothing. I strongly recommend you avoid this salon.
