Months ago, I've dined at Aunty's to try their famous butter chicken which comes with salad and naan. The portions were humongous and I had plenty of leftovers (it was like two meals worth of food!) The butter chicken sauce was really flavourful, but quite heavy on the stomach. That's why for this particular visit, I decided to order something lighter and went for the tandoori wrap. The wrap consisted of tandoori chicken pieces covered in spicy mayo. It's a simple wrap with only two ingredients for the filling, but it was simply delicious! It tasted as good as it smelled too. The variety of spices made it very aromatic. There was just the right amount of spice which made it tasty. It was a bit of a wait for them to make the wrap, but we were offered a free drink for the wait - that's awesome customer service which I appreciate! It's uncommon to see that for a place in the plaza. Music is also quite loud here but their playlist is great. Overall, food is yummy, price is decent, and portions are huge. They do have discounts every now and then which are shown on the sign by the plaza entrance on University Ave so I'd keep an eye out for that. I'd come back again!

I almost always purchase the Fish Curry and I'm always pleasantly surprised by how good it tastes. It comes with either the choice of a salad or fries - I always go for the salad to balance out the meal. They changed the salad about a year ago and it's much tastier now. Would recommend trying! Only criticism is they replaced all metal cutlery with plastic ones. Less enjoyable experience to be cutting a fried fish with a plastic spoon. Otherwise 7.5-8 out of 10

Attached a pic of one of the combos. Ordered from this place today through skip the dishes. 2 Dinner plates which come with 3 sides each. Paid 30+ tax. Came with handful of rice and exactly 4 small pieces of meat. Had asked to keep sauce on side but the sauce did not come and neither it was on the rice. Fries come in paper box which get moist due to the steam. Also, the order was delayed.

I'm not sure why people complain about the portion size as they're still huge. My fiancé always gets the butter chicken and according to him the chicken is drier than before because they switched from dark meat to white meat? Otherwise all the selections are very good, I especially like their rice and garlic sauce, very tasty!

Tldr: Great joint for indian cuisine close to UW campus, flavorful, filling dishes, friendly staff, has great specials, would recommend Come here often when my tongue is asking for Indian style cuisine during school. Aunty's offers a wide selection of dishes including biryani, butter chicken, fish curry, sharwarma plates wraps, and more. When i come here i usually get the butter chicken or the chicken on the rocks. If you get the butter chicken, it comes with rice, naan, and a choice of salad or fries. The chicken is usually pretty juicy and it blends so well with the flavors of the creamy, spicy butter chicken sauce. The chicken on the rocks is a great option as well if you love sauce. They fill up the box with a huge amount of rice, shawarma chicken, and they top it off with the richest garlic sauce. You will definitely get full when you eat here, sometimes i eat half for lunch and save the other half for dinner. Staff are pretty friendly as well. The prices are reasonable, but i would suggest to come on Saturday's as they have discount deals on select dishes during the later morning to late afternoon. Recently they also started a happy hour deal after 4pm for a couple hours, so be sure to go then as well to save some $$$. Would recommend to anyone!

I usually come here to get butter chicken but have tried the fusion and shawarma plates as well. The naan is really good especially with the butter chicken but they only give you 4 pieces of chicken. The meals are good and come in decent sizes. However, recently they don't give you big portions like they used to and increased their prices. They have consistent quality and do satisfy Indian cravings. Def a great go to in the plaza! Tip: it is 25% off for certain meals during certain times on Saturday! (10-2pm)

Aunty's Kitchen provides tasty, budget-conscious South-Asian food in a quick-service restaurant environment. My friends at Westmount Signs recommended I come here to try out this new restaurant, opened only since December, and I was not disappointed. The food was very flavourful and spicy and I was pleasantly surprised by the large portion size for a $6.99 Chicken Karahi. They also have a special for any 6 dishes on their menu for $35 including tax and delivery. My only complaint is that their hours of operation are somewhat restrictive. They are not open Saturday at lunchtime or on Sundays... but everyone needs a break, even Aunty!

Love the chicken shawarma plate at this place!! Their garlic sauce is to die for! Always ask for extra :) I've also tried the butter chicken poutine, the fish and chips, the naan shawarma, and the chilli chicken! They're all soso flavourful and really delicious. Also tried the tandoori chicken, which was really dry so I wasn't a big fan of it.. Recently the portion sizes have shrunk and the prices have gone up. They also don't add anymore dressing to their salad which is a big bummer.. The staff is really friendly and the overall restaurant atmosphere is nice. Still really good food so would definitely recommend!! Hopefully quality doesn't keep depreciating...

Aunty's Cafe used to be Aunty's kitchen down on king street. Aunty's Cafe is a great place to get some fairly authentic Pakistani food. The owners and employees are polite and help you figure out the menu. Many of the food items take a little while to be served because they are cooked to order. Other things that are ready made will be served immediately. The restaurant has 4 to 5 tables with space for 4 people each. The food itself is delicious. I personally liked the Zubi Wrap, butter chicken, naan and paratha! The biryani I didn't like as much.

Been here a few times and their portions definitely fill me up. Personally, I find the the biryani pretty spicy, but you can ask them to mix it with some plain rice which helps. The naan and butter chicken are really good and full of flavour. Really top notch. The only thing I wish is that they make their portions a bit smaller (and a bit cheaper); all of their dinner plates are around $10.50, and I can never finish their biryani because there's so much rice. Though it's still pretty affordable and the quality of the food definitely beats most other restaurants in this plaza.

Hello again again Waterloo! So, as told by my partner I had to try this place. Here I am! I bought THE FUSION which had Biryani rice, tandoori shawarma, butter chicken sauce, and fries. Mixed it all together and it was tastefully good. Heavy though but satisfying! The spice is good. The fries were fried just right. The biryani rice was delicious with the butter chicken sauce. The chicken was, mwah! I should have asked for garlic sauce, I think the taste factor would go more up. Overall, loved it! I would go again. Price is appropriate to portion size of the meal.

They put so much dedication from the way they speak with you to the quality of the food, I was really satisfied. I didn't know this but you actually get $5 off your first order of $25 or more if you order online through their website shawermaplus.com - love supporting local! Since I was really craving mediterranean I decided to go all out and order. First, there was so much variety on the menu that there wasn't anything I couldn't order. Shawerma Plus has some of the best value meals so I decided to order the Saj Super Family Tray, Chicken Shawerma Poutine, and Baqlawah for dessert. My Saj Super Family Tray came out so crispy and flavorful - seriously filled with so much umami. I love how the poutine uses their own sauce and it really made for a unique combo. To finish, the baqlawah was the perfect finish with the sweet drizzle. For a Mediterranean craving, I will definitely be back. Thank you for all that you do!

Not sure what that is from, but clearly smells like it. I put everything in it, which apparently includes anchovies. I guess I can't complain since I said put everything but I've never had a shawarma with anchovies. As well, there is just a lot of lettuce. Almost to the point where it feels more like a chicken salad wrap than a chicken shawarma. It's a huge shawarma, but it feels like 70% salad. That salad just makes it a sloppy mess. (Also no option to put fries in the shawarma like mozy or shawarma plus) I got mine mild hotness, but I'm actually sweating. I normally get spicy at mozy and I found this shawarma spicy. And mild is only third spiciest. Also their fries are decent. Not as crispy as mozy's. Overall I prefer lazeez on the sticks. Not really sure if what I ate was a shawarma or a bundle of salad.

A quick browse in Google brought up New Delhi amongst the top searches and so I and a colleague decided to try the place. Ambience and welcome (5/5) The very first aspect that impresses when you enter the place is the ambience; its warm and relaxing and more importantly ever smiling pleasant demeanor of Mr.Gaurav (Who runs the place) makes you like the place instantly even before you have tasted the food :-) Friendliness of staff and customer service (5/5) The staff take the effort to ask about our spice tolerance which was important as I had a colleague who was not Indian but was curious about Indian food and I wanted to make sure the experience was worth it. To mention, I had ordered a take-away and one item in my order was left behind; I called up the place and Mr.Gaurav personally delivered the item to my hotel. That is a fine example of customer service I have experienced. Dishes ordered: Papdi chaat (5/5) The 1st item we had was the papdi chaat and it was amazing. The right mix of chutneys and flavors made it a delectable eat. Take a look at the picture. Droolworthy, aint it? Veg biryani (4/5) We ordered Veg biryani and from a taste point of view, it was very good. However, the biryani rice was a bit sticky and not separate as how basmati rice usually is; but that had no impact on the gastronomic experience :-) , we polished off the dish in no time Dahi bhalla (5/5) Now, I have had chaat at Lucknow, Amritsar, and Delhi itself, and I can say with authority that the dahi bhalla holds up well to its competition :-) Veg thali (5/5) Value for money I went again couple of days later for lunch and ordered their veg thali which comprises of a big naan, basmati rice, 2 veg dishes, kheer, raita, and some lettuce salad. This is a value for money deal. The portion is just perfect for a single person. Fun fact: They also stock Indian softdrinks such as Limca, Thums up :-) As desi as it can get. New Delhi also makes fresh Indian sweets and having tasted their Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai, and Kheer, I would highly recommend them as the go to place for Indian sweets during festivals. Price wise, I feel its reasonable. Not too expensive. Rightly priced. The one thing every desi misses is ghar ka khana. New Delhi was my go to place. Kudos to Mr.Gaurav for running such an amazing place. I hope to visit Canada again and will definitely visit New Delhi :-) To conclude: The place definitely lives up to its name...
