Stopped in today when I was in the area and did a quick pick from Yelp photos to pick up something for my hub for dinner tonight. Was excited to get me some fried goodness but was kind of let down. I got the katsu plate and an extra side of their fried chicken. Everything looked like it was fried well. Katsu plate: skip this. First appearance I thought they gave me the wrong order because I am used to katsu being one big piece of meat sliced up. Theirs were separate fried pieces of meat. The overall feel, the service, it all reminds me of those small plate lunch places all over Hawaii where everyone knows each other, the staff knows everyone, and it's likely you will bump into a family member or friend you know. The food is excellent. It's all made with care and with quality and you can definitely tell. My favorite are the breakfast plates or the Loco moco. All the food is excellent but I especially like breakfast. You really can't go wrong with anything you order there. Yes they do serve it on disposable plates but again if you've been to Hawaii this is fairly normal. The portions are large which is normal for hawaiian food. That's fine by me, because it just means more leftovers for later! In closing the food is excellent, the staff friendly, and the owner is always nice to talk to. Glad I came back to try it again. I wanted to try the TNT chicken, but I didn't see it on the menu, so this time I got the Auntie's Fried Chicken and the Teriyaki Beef. The first thing I noticed when I got home was the mac salad portion was a manini one. Auwe! Made me sad. There wasn't much teri beef either. But there was a lot of chicken. So in all honesty I really liked the flavor of the teri beef and chicken BUT I'm not sure it's for everyone. The teri beef was sweet, thick, and hard like sweet beef jerky. Yum! The bacon fried rice was previously my favorite. This time the bacon was chopped so small and not much that I could hardly taste it. Plus very little green onion and/or onion. Therefore it was pretty tasteless. Plus they use to have a pot of decaf coffee made or when asked for decaf they made a pot. Now they make it by the cup. So if you want a refill you have to wait again. Probably because they don't get many requests for decaf. Somewhat disappointing. Think I'll stick to Gardena Bowl, TnT or make it myself. read more

Aunties Cafe is an amazing hangover cure! Ono food made with love and it hits the spot after a night out. I frequent their breakfast burritos which has the perfect balance of ingredients each time and have been a big fan of the mixed loco plate with Portuguese sausage, hashed corned beef and the burger patty, the gravy and egg will keep one satisfied for a long time and I love sharing it with my family. First time coming for breakfast and we thought since the pan was an hour wait let's try it. No one really inside and they had some vegetarian options as I am vegetarian. Wanted to try food before I gave my experience and food is good perfect portions. The service I asked a question and again it's my first time and the man maybe the owner not sure was so annoyed and then repeated a question which I was going to answer after my daughter ordered which he was annoyed and maybe having a bad day I don't know but honestly I was not rude or aggressive which really made me not understand why he seemed so annoyed. I was really excited to learn that the owners of TNT Aloha Cafe opened up this location in Gardena. Since I'm in the South Bay often, it's nice to have some decent Hawaiian comfort food in the neighborhood. They're located in a shopping plaza off of Normandie and Artesia with plenty of shared parking available. If you've ever been to TNT in Torrance, you know that one of their best dishes is their homemade corned beef hash, and this is the exact replica of it - same recipe, same great taste! I ordered the corned beef hash with fried rice and two eggs sunny for $10.75. The corned beef hash are shaped in the form of big, round circular patties. They're homemade, very delicious and filling! I like to break the yolk on my egg and let the runny yolk spread throughout the fried rice and patties. So ono! TNT is also known for their fried rice, and I believe Auntie's uses the same recipe here as well. I'm a fried rice lover and this is one of the best I've found in the South Bay! Their menu is diverse and filled with plenty of Hawaiian comfort food options. They offer breakfast all day, which is a plus for all you brekkie fans! I ordered my food to go, so I can't comment on the full service, but the staff member that I interacted with was full of aloha! I finally found another Hawaiian spot that is worth every penny! (It's not that expensive. I just feel like every aspect of every meal has been sooo good). I have been here before in recent months. I've had their Portuguese Sausage and with potatoes for breakfast twice because it was so good. Added a side of pancake stack (which they make from scratch! You can taste the quality!!) I dream of that Portuguese sausage all the time. So that was my previous experience. Today, I went for dinner and got their Teriyaki Beef Bowl with a side of rice and broccoli. Can I just say that this is the best teriyaki beef bowl I've had to date!?! Meat was super tender!!! I added an additional picture as some pieces were slightly charred with the teriyaki sauce which is something I look for as it adds flavor and texture. It wasn't drenched in sauce which is fine. The flavor really came through. I've been to other places and sometimes their sauces can be underwhelming or way too sweet or they put way too much. I would normally go for the Teriyaki Chicken bowls at other spots but I was really happy I opted this dish today. I'll definitely give that a try in the near future soon! Honestly some of the recipes seems to be good but the workers the manager or something then don't feel like care about their customers today I got really awkward impression from this place no one cares and I won't go where I am not appreciate it. The management need to work also in their uniforms to used an apron on. Something that also turn me off it was the part of using a lot of plastic Cups,plates, utensils.
