When my transaction would not go through on the machine, the manager was super kind and patient as I attempted to pay.

We popped in on a rainy day and got two drinks and pretzels. What a delightful little place! I got…read morethe raspberry mocha and I have no other way to describe it than graeter's berry chocolate chip ice cream. I think we came at a kind of off time of day because the pretzels were cold and kind of hard, but they still tasted good and the dips were what we expected. I'd suggest making a trip towards the beginning of the day!

Amazing pretzels!!!…read more Super friendly and polite customer service with warm, comforting pretzels and the most amazing dips ever. In addition to being organic and vegan I also appreciate the fact that they aren't too salty like many other soft pretzels are. These pretzels also reheat well in the toaster oven which is great when you are already stuffed but want to take a pretzel to go. I especially recommend the cinnamon butter dip which has a very unique flavor. I've never had anything like it. It is reminiscent of cinnamon ice cream in texture and flavor without actually being cold or too sweet. You also don't mind using a lot of it as it is light and fluffy in mouthfeel.  They must never take the tasty cinnamon butter away!!! They also have a tasty mustard dip which is a condiment I often recommend to people as a Dietitian due to its many health benefits. As the only local pretzel place in Pittsburgh to serve both organic and vegan pretzels this is the *perfect* vendor to any local party you are having - particularly events that have the need to be vegan and/or organic as people become increasingly concerned with their health and the environment. I highly recommend contacting Connor today or ordering a pretzel from him if you see his pretzels at an event! :)

What a fun place! The large beer hall feels just like it came out of Germany. A light airy and…read morefully of energy space. Easy to read menu with many pictures. The wurst plate was the best sausage I have had in a while. A thick casing and flavorful meat. The potatoes were fluffy and the sauerkraut was pungent and delicious. You can get a spicy mettawurst - highly recommend! Salmon was cooked well and was a bit sweet with the sauce on top. The black forest torte was a large portion. Super good. Creamy and spongey cake. They will even pack it up and bring it out for you if you are too full!

She made sure my drink was always filled and out checked in on us alot. I realized I'm not a fan of German beer or food as a vegetarian. I had the super sampler. The pretzels are really good. The fried pickle spears are pretty good as well. Potato pancakes weren't bad but not my cup of tea. Couldn't tell you about the reuben balls but the people at the table said they weren't bad. Just weird. The steak spaetzilwas also a hit at the table. I tried a noodle which was like a dumpling and a mushroom. And again not my cup of tea but the table liked it. Lastly. The beer. People seem to love itbut as an ipa guy it was not for me. I had an original which was not too bad. Then the banana ish one which was not my thing. Either way the vibes made up for everything. It's not their fault it's not to my taste. Fun place just not my thing.

It feels connected…read moreto the history of the area - especially to the Germantown/Deutschtown neighborhood on the northside. There is a large menu here with a lot of German specialities. I got the fish sandwich this time. It was good, but needed a little more spice. The sides here are great -- I'm particular to the einlauf soup (similar to Jewish matzah ball), the homemade chunky applesauce, and the potato pancakes. I have had a stuffed cabbage entree here also when it was offered as a special. This might be a harder restaurant to come to if you are a vegetarian, as there is a lot of meat on the menu -- also a lot of pork and pork sausage, etc for anyone who doesn't eat this. I found there are many other options though for those who eat chicken, fish, or beef. There also is a full bar here and the bar itself is the most nostalgic looking element to the restaurant. Prost!

I got reminded I wanted to try it one more time after the last review Their hostess needs some training. We got there, she said that they had tables but she was "trying to give the servers a break." I kept asking how long of a wait there would be and she said, "I don't know." We took our chances and waited for about 20 minutes watching her braid her own hair and 3-4 tables leaving before another wait staff finally came out and asked hostess, "have you given them a time?" She told her no and then the woman said, "it's going to be 45 minutes to an hour." We left after having wasted enough time. This place used to be great and we went about once every other month, but now their staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing and we didn't even get a chance to try the food it again.
