We had fried pickles, a sunshine salad (as a side salad), and a couple of hot dogs--the bacon dog and the Picklesburgh dog. Pickles were a tiny bit greasy but crunchy and substantial. The side salad was absolutely delicious with lots of textures and crunch, both acidic and a little sweet all at the same time. I would order it as a dinner salad for sure. I didn't try the bacon dog, but my husband liked it. The Picklesburgh dog was a delicious mess--truly, it was so messy--but it was crunchy and salty and briny, and totally worth ordering next time I'm in the mood for a dog. I shouldn't have waited so long to go back to Brick and Mortar; I'm glad we finally checked it out.

Takes a while for the food to come out, but I believe they make the food fresh, hence the wait. The quality of the food alone makes this place worth coming to. After we finished the drink (a beer each, not a quick drink), we had reviewed the food menu thoroughly and were ready to order. It was not busy. Still no server. My husband politely went to the bar to close out, we had wanted food but now needed to go. Some regulars overheard and told us to go buy hot dogs at 7-11. That was particularly triggering to me, hot dogs are upsetting.

I also got an ice cream but she forgot to give us the spoon for it so we stopped her while she was walking passed still giving us attitude. When she came back she gave my bf the spoon but while walking off she started to give him the stink eye for no reason. This was one of the worst experience I have ever had at a sonic and it's really sad that this happened. I understand when your busy you get frustrated bc of how busy you are but if your customers are being nice about you giving them the wrong order it doesn't call for giving them attitude and a stink eye in the end. I especially recommend the cinnamon butter dip which has a very unique flavor. I've never had anything like it. It is reminiscent of cinnamon ice cream in texture and flavor without actually being cold or too sweet. You also don't mind using a lot of it as it is light and fluffy in mouthfeel. They must never take the tasty cinnamon butter away!!! They also have a tasty mustard dip which is a condiment I often recommend to people as a Dietitian due to its many health benefits. As the only local pretzel place in Pittsburgh to serve both organic and vegan pretzels this is the *perfect* vendor to any local party you are having - particularly events that have the need to be vegan and/or organic as people become increasingly concerned with their health and the environment. I highly recommend contacting Connor today or ordering a pretzel from him if you see his pretzels at an event! :)

My twist was served on my requested sugar cone for which I was happy. Often times places say they can't use a sugar cone for a twist. I know better and so does this place. Their soft serve was so similar to ours that I have to think they use the same dairy product. It was rich and creamy and wonderful. So happy we found this and since it's so close to the Drury Inn where we stay when in town, I know I will be back.

My visit was on a Saturday night in May around 9:30 PM. It was not crowded at all, as we were one of a few groups there at the time. Plenty of seating options both inside and out, and we had no issue finding seating that worked for us. There was no line to order, so after taking a minute or two to look over the menu, I went to put in the order. The girls working the counter were very personable and helpful. They let me sample a few of the flavors, and were engaging in conversation with all of the customers when waiting on them. The shop had a bigger menu with some food items like pizza, appetizers, salads, and more, but we did not try any on this trip. It would be a one-stop shop for dinner and dessert to come here and eat from both the food menu and then the ice cream menu. We ordered two of the Specialty Sundaes - the Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Greek Style. Both are served with vanilla soft serve. I believe you can switch that out for a different flavor or type, but we stuck with the vanilla. The sundaes were not bad, but they were very average. The price of these were both $7.99 each before tax, and I would have thought they would be a little bigger. On the Greek Style, the baklava was in pieces crumbled over the top as opposed to a larger, singular piece. The cookie on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae was not an oversized one that usually comes on sundaes like that at other shops. I am not sure what kind it was, but it appeared to be something mass produced, almost like a Chips Ahoy. Again, they were not bad, but for the price and the fact that they were on the Specialty Sundae menu, I would have expected more than what we got. I thought the prices here were high for the quality and quantity of the items. I am not sure if the value was there for the prices, but I would have to determine that after visiting another time or two to see if it was a one-off or if that is how it is for everything. I enjoyed getting to try this place. It has a good atmosphere, and is probably a lively place in the summertime and when the weather is nice. I would be interested to try more of the menu on a return trip. I am not sure if I would recommend the Speciality Sundaes, but the hard ice creams that I sampled were good and worth getting if you are stopping here!
