Schneider's Dairy

Schneider's Dairy

Schneider's Dairy is a family-owned and -operated business that has operated since 1935. Their raw…read moremilk comes from over 40 farms in 13 Western Pennsylvanian counties, and farmers pledge to not use the growth hormone rBST. Schneider's products include milks, iced teas, juices, whipped creams, half and half, fruit drinks, dips, cottage cheeses, ice creams, seasonal products, and even spring water. I bought a bottle of their eggnog. In previous years, I purchased other companies' eggnogs and did not enjoy them. I decided to buy Schneider's eggnog just because Christmas is approaching and I had not drunk eggnog in several years. I figured why not try it. My husband and I actually enjoyed the taste of Schneider's eggnog! The main ingredients were milk, sugar, cream, egg yolks, and nutmeg. I do not know exactly what Schneider's does differently, but I recommend their eggnog. The only thing that I do not like is that the eggnog is very high in fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, and sugar, so my husband and I plan to share only one small container per year.

It's excellent, it's cheap, and it's local. I can't believe anyone in the 'Burgh has ever drank Lipton. If they have, they should be disowned by the black and gold region. Give the Sweet Tea a try, it's on sale in many local stores and gas stations. Absolutely yum. Refreshing. Awful for you but then so is dating me.

Nothing screams Pittsburgh like a trip to Giant Eagle. It has been and always will be one of my…read moreabsolute favorite locally owned and operated grocery stores. From expertly prepared hot foods, to local favorites throughout the store, Giant Eagle offers Pittsburghers everything they need and more! During my lifetime I witnessed the metamorphosis of Giant Eagle. This particular location in West Mifflin was always homebase. I used to love renting movies and video games from Iggle Video while my mom shopped. The Giant Eagle brand food is always top notch. Very few stores can compare to their in-store brand quality. But when you're looking for name brand goods, Giant Eagle has them all, and for very reasonable prices. For my non-Pittsburgh friends, you may not understand this, but when I need some Sarris candy or Mrs. T's pierogies while I'm visiting my family in Western Pennsylvania, Giant Eagle is the place to land.

Today January 14th, 10:30 am, I stopped to pick up some bread. As I approached I saw no one waiting…read moreat the counter. There was a lady in the corner behind the shelves of bread taking someone's order. Behind the counter in the back was a tall thin man with gloves on working diligently at something, and two young females in their 20's-30s standing directly in my vision, laughing and joking with each other, carefully not making eye contact with me. I stood there for at least 5-7 minutes until the tall man in the back who at this time was irritated because no one was waiting on me (which probably happened frequently) asked me if I needed help. I said yes, I would like my bread sliced, please. about a minute went by, and no more words were said, the young woman came over to me with contempt ( Like she had been constipated for weeks) on her face, took her time putting on gloves while glaring at me, and minutes later returned with the same look, still giving me the evil staredown.. not speaking. I smiled and thanked her. If looks could kill. She obviously felt she shouldn't have to work while she was there at GE!! The bad attitude and nasty look said it all. I'm not sure what she expected to come out of that.(?) They need to keep her in the back, with someone watching so she actually earns her paycheck. After seeing this, If I were her manager, and If they BOTH didn't start doing their jobs and get a better attitude I would fire them. It was pretty obvious to me they expect others to pick up their slack. I think next time I visit the store for bread I will look for her...:)

The location has a car wash but no drive thru. I also really like that this location is at a traffic light which makes it very easy to get in and out of.

We enjoy going to the sheets to enjoy a milkshake and do some shopping while we charge our EV at…read moreone of the four chargers. Unfortunately, during the past several visits, we've noticed that other people in their EVs don't seem to want to park within one parking space at the chargers. Thus, not everybody can park at the chargers because one or two vehicles are always parked four or five feet over the line into the next vehicle space. Tonight, I was the third person pulled in and I was taking two spots because the person next to me was well over into the second Bay as well as the other person on the other side of me was over into the next bay as well. A fourth person showed up to charge their vehicle and couldn't fit in. I asked the one person who was in his vehicle to unplug and move over so that the fourth person waiting could pull into the spot and he said no because he didn't want to unplug his vehicle. It's just common decency to only take up one space! I don't know what is happening with the dumbing down of Evie drivers lately. Anyways, my suggestion to the management would be to occasionally take a walk outside in your parking lot to make sure that the EV chargers have only one vehicle per spot and not going over the lines into the next parking spot. Additionally, you may want to occasionally announce on the PA system that if you are charging your EV make sure you're only taking up one parking spot. It seems to be very common sense but we kind of don't seem to have common sense much anymore. It's just a decent thing to do for your neighbor. Some people are traveling a great distance and need to charge their vehicles and they don't need to be delayed. It's one thing if all four chargers are occupied and you have to wait but when there's only three of the four chargers occupied but you can't get to the fourth one because people are improperly parked that's very rude. Management, please follow up on this and try to be diligent so that everybody can charge their vehicle. I'm sure that sheets make some money from the chargers as the people at EV go must pay something to sheets for the use of the chargers, so it's only good business also. Other than that, the milkshakes are great! Please pardon a voice to text spellings because I can't get into edit and correct spelling manually
