Mini dogs stacked high! Toasty and fresh!
    Rebekah L.

I'll tell you right now. I've been to this location more than a dozen times and Joe is one of the best. He goes above and beyond and just provides phenomenal customer service. He smiles and always always treats you nicely and with respect. When Joe is working you actually have options to order what you want off the menu! The previous times I've been here when an older Caucasian lady used to work the register - never once did she have anything prepared. She'd always say that they were no longer making mini dogs for the rest of the day at like noon or say that they only had plain and pepperoni pretzel available for the rest of the day and those were my only choices. I simply just could not understand how they could run a business this way. Her customer service was so poor that Whenever I saw her working I just would not swing by the business to avoid her at all costs. Along came Joe and everything changed. There's always fresh baked pretzels and mini dogs and he'll let you know how long something will take to get ready if it's not available on the counter. Everything is always hot and toasty. I truly appreciate his customer service so much so that whenever I'm at the mall and he's working I always grab myself a pretzel or some other snacks. I'm giving this place a five star review because I can see that they've turned things around. Good customer service is what brings customers back. Thanks Joe for your hard work! You've truly turned this business around.

This place is amazing. The whole pretzels are soft and warm, even after being transported. The mini bites are so good too, and they have a lot of different flavors. I love the cinnamon sugar ones because it is sweet and salty at the same time. It's convenient and the workers are nice to you. The last time I went, they had to catch up on the orders because they had ran out of pretzels. I had to wait 15 minutes for them to be ready. They ran out of PRETZELS. The one thing they sell. Besides that, everything is good.

Good people, excellent service and pretzels. Grab some on the way to the theatre. Never miss a chance for cinnamon pretzels. Try them.

Their pretzel are too hard for my liking. I prefer Pretzelmaker's pretzels by a long shot.

Not only did the employee make me wait through four completed drive thru transactions, but they didn't have a clue about what the Crown rewards program was or how you redeem them. They called a manager over and it was the same thing...not a clue! The manager finally told me she didn't have time to deal with me and just gave me a drink for free. Well, I suppose that was nice but I wasn't looking for a free handout and the attitude was uncalled for. Burger King corporate needs to know about this location and its incompetent employees. Some retraining or rehiring needs to be done here. I would not visit this location again in the future.

I came across the reviews of Guzman y Gomez on Yelp, and it sounded great, and we decided to try it. When I looked it up, I found out that if I ordered through the app we could start earning rewards, so we did this, and went inside to pick up the order and eat. Everything was ready and waiting in a large bag for us to pick up. We grabbed it at the pick up window, and went into the dining area to sit and eat. I ordered two tacos, and my husband got a burrito. With the tacos, I chose ground beef, and chose mild on the seasoning. They were very good, although I think next time I'll try spicy and see if I like that even better. But what set them apart was that the taco shells themselves had some taco seasoning on them that was delicious. The tacos also just had the basics, which is how I like them - meat, cheese, and salsa. And two were plenty for me, very substantial. My husband tried the ground beef burrito, which was huge. He could only eat half, and took the other half to eat later. He said he enjoyed it a lot. We were looking forward to going back, but I read just now that all the Chicago locations have closed as of today. That's a shame, because we really liked it a lot.

They have a lot of protein you can choose from like grilled chicken, sirloin, steak, Carnitas, shredded beef, brisket, seasoned ground beef, or sautéed vegetables with guacamole. The burritos is on the smaller side, but it packs a punch full of flavor. From the fries to the salsa to the fresh pico. Highly recommended the Cali burrito. They also have this salsas, cilantro, and jalapeño and spicy pickled carrots station where you can help yourself . They also serve liquor here . The decor inside definitely has the Spanish theme. From the art on the wall to the vines hanging down from the ceiling . The service is great. I love how they have the open kitchen where you can see them cook.

The photos from the 1960s, showing the owners then and now, give the place a deep sense of tradition and pride in building something from the ground up. The memorabilia throughout the restaurant is fantastic, and there is plenty of space if you are coming in with a large group. The food lives up to the reputation. The Chicago dog is fantastic and fully authentic, loaded with the right peppers, onion, and pickle. The only minor bump was that we ordered to dine in, but the order came out in to-go packaging. Wrapped up like that, the steam got to the bun and softened it a bit more than if it had been served open on a tray, which took a little away from the texture. Even with that, it was still a very good dog. For the side, ordering the fries well-done on the self-service kiosk is a huge plus. They came out crisp and tasty, though in the fast-casual fry hierarchy, Culver's still holds the crown. Overall, it is a great spot with rich local heritage, generous seating, and solid staple items. I will definitely be back.

One of my teens and young adult ordered the Italian beef, said it was kinda dry and you had to pay extra for the toppings. I had the grilled chicken and house salad, no complaints. The chicken breast was flavorful and juicy!! My other teen had the fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the fish, they said it was pretty good. The restaurant was really nice! Very colorful decor! Didn't have much interaction with the staff because we ordered at a kiosk but the young lady announcing the order numbers for pick-up made up cute little rhymes based on the number. For dessert, the young adult tried the lemon cake milkshake, he loved it and was impressed that they incorporated the cake chunks! One of my teens and I shared the strawberry shortcake, it was tasty but had more whipped topping than cake. We'd definitely go back and try other things on our next visit to Chicago.

But, the owner's out, and we decided to check out the $3 value sandwich (thinking of our kiddos' lunch budget), to see whether it's a good value or not. So here's the deal. The sandwich is 6.5 inches and made on skinnier bread, but it's still just the right size for a light bite. I ordered the Italian (#5), and the bread was incredibly fresh, it was packed with lettuce, and had a decent amount of meat on it. If you're hungry, I recommend throwing in a bag of chips. For $3, it's a good value. Now, they do have a taller, much skinnier version of the Italian sandwich for $3.99. It's made fresh every hour and prepackaged for quick take-it-to-go! That's something I might consider for my kiddos' lunches. They have pretty hearty appetites, but I think this is a good alternative...I mean who needs to have a giant meal at lunch? Totally worth the value, IMO. Side note: I don't know who Sharon is, per Lisa D's review, but the person that waited on us seemed to be the manager and was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Charcuterie board was ok, have had better ones from local grocery store. Drinks were good and strong. Overall food was meh. Burger was a salt bomb and not what I had envisioned. Only ate half. Culver's has a better cheeseburger. Husband ordered short rib and not a speck left on the plate. Brother in law ordered lemon chicken and ate it all. My sister-in-law ordered salmon and it was over cooked. She wasn't happy. Dessert was good. Worth splurging for the Almond Butter Cake. A local TV food reporter was eating dinner with friends a few tables over and I am curious to see what he orders. The part that is disappointing is you have to arrive early to get parking, so when you have pavilion seats you have the time to get dinner. I just wish that it's worth the money they charge. When you walk away paying over $300 for 4 drinks, one appetizer and 4 entrees and 2 desserts you want to feel good about it. Ultimately we stopped on the way home for late night cheeseburgers.
