I have now used Augustine Fence 3 times. Jim (owner) and his crew have come through every time. On time, reliable, within our budget, very helpful in providing various options. Also, if something needed to be corrected/adjusted, the work was done right away and addressed our concerns. The last time (just a couple of weeks ago) we needed to urgently replace one of our backyard gates which literally was falling apart. From start to finish, Augustine Fence is a win! I initially emailed the company with my request for a new gate and side fence. JoAnn was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. If she didn't have an answer, she would get back to me, after talking to Jim, the owner. A date and time frame (9am - 11am) was given for an estimator to come out and see the site. Leo arrived at 9:02am and I showed him the area. He took notes and pictures and a day later I had a written estimate for the project. The estimate was very reasonable and my requests for written amendments were done within a day. A date was schedule for the demo and install. Patrick and Gabriel came by and performed the work. They were scheduled at 9am and parked at 9:04am. They were very communicative with me, asked me particular questions on lock placement and improving the old style I had. Jim himself came onsite by 10am and was seeing the project through, and offering his 40 year expertise while getting his hands dirty with his crew. The job was completed in 1 day. Patrick and Gabriel cleaned up the area, and my fence/gate look stellar. From start to finish, this project took 3 weeks, as they worked me in between jobs. (They are booked 2 months out). The cost of the job was exactly the cost of the estimate. FYI, when dealing with small business', be sure and ask on payment methods before hand. I paid by personal check to avoid the credit card processing fee of 2%-3%. The only part of the business that needs improvement are the field workers wearing Augustine Fencing clothing or hats, so they are easy to identify to existing and prospective clients. Fence collapsed after less then 4yrs. And not only that the wood warped. I have a 40yr old fence on the other side of my property that is in better shape at this point. Not only that but when it collapsed it took FOREVER for him to come out to repair it. It's still warped. I had a different company do my other side of the fence and it was a hell of a lot sturdier then what they built!! read more

We love our fences! I am absolutely grinning ear-to-ear with happiness and my ex-contractor husband gives the fences big thumbs-up, too. We needed two fences: they did a beautiful overlap for the front of our yard, and a dog-ear between our place and the neighbor. The overlap has extra-high posts because my honey will add a trellis. The dog-ear looks great from our side but the extra-pretty side is on the neighbor's. Jim Augustine's crew was a pleasure to have around, and the office assistant, JoAnn, made sure things ran smoothly. If you get a bid from him you'll probably find you have to wait a couple months -- it's worth it! read more

The gate they made in the $2000 15' fence we bought from them was too big and the latch fell off a couple of months later. Now they will not return our calls or repair their poor work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will take your money and not stand behind their work. read more

*Update* They finally sent someone out, again with no confirmation or notice that someone was coming. And the guy that showed up wasn't wearing a mask and had no indication that he was with Augustine. I almost didn't answer the door. I get that many many folks are vaccinated now, but if you're making home visits it's just common courtesy to wear one. Original review: Called to schedule an estimate, and that went well. The woman I spoke to was really sweet and a good communicator. We scheduled a 2 hour window on a specific day for someone to come out and take a look at the project site. However on the day of, no contact to confirm that someone was coming, and ultimately no one showed up. I called immediately after the two hour window had passed and no one answered the phone even though it was during their normal business hours. I'm pretty floored, given all the good reviews that others have written. They were recommended to me by my neighbors, but oh well. I ended up going with another fencing company, cuz who has time for this nonsense? read more

They built us the fence we wanted at a fair price. We give the job 5 stars, but had to dock one star because it was very hard to make contact with them when I had questions, and when we wanted to schedule. Also, because they do good work, they were very busy and our job couldn't be started immediately. Still, I recommend the company, despite the communication gap. read more

I would love to be able to review their work, as they apparently did a nice job for a friend. But after multiple calls and voicemails, with no answers or call backs, I've given up. The sad thing is I would have be fine with a simple "We are too busy" or "Your job is too small for us," but I didn't even get that. read more

We had a section of our fence done by Augustine fence company. They did a good job. Be warned that they do not take credit cards. It was never mentioned, but we should have asked. Part our fault. We did have some drip lines cut that we had to repair. I figure that it can easily happen. The only thing that I did not expect was grease spots in our driveway. BLACK GREASE SPOTS from their truck. We have lived here 19 years and not a spot in our driveway. Now we have to deal with it. Very annoying to say the least. Have them park on the street is my recommendation read more

They did a decent job, were fair and courteous, showed up when they said they would, did the work on time, built a solid fence, and cleaned up nicely. Jim Augustine was great, however, his worker did not listen to him and made an error in post placement. Ultimately the fence line did not come out straight, due to his error and the compromised fix, but it's not noticeable unless you look for it. I believe their prices were significantly lower than other quotes. Wood quality seems average but not outstanding. They could have paid more attention so that the nicer looking wood is in places where it's most visible. Despite the glitches, I would hire them again and recommend to anyone who is looking for a just fine fence at a good price. read more
