Ours was Ashley and she was attentive and informative. The meat lovers omelet I had was just like me at the end of my meal, stuffed. Most omelets that I have had, which is a lot, that say they have cheese in them, the cheese is hard to find. But not here, the cheese ( your choice of cheese, was front and center. My hash browns were crispy nor soft and soggy. My wife ordered her eggs like she enjoys them and they were not exactly right so Ashley took them back and the next set were, to quote my wife, the BEST, she has ever had. The sausage she got is made right there and was outstanding. We learned from Ashley that the owners were in the kitchen fixing the food and source the burgers and steaks from their own cattle. They also bake the pies and cakes on site. We now have a place to bring visitors to our home in Saint James, such a real great find. The bathroom was neat and clean and parking is plenty and an easy walk for older patrons. Please stop in and let them know that the 'spoon player' sent you. Plus they do offer a military discount Oh and great music for dining ambience

The space itself is so cute, it's very intentional and aesthetic. The pink stripes, ceiling clouds, plant paintings on the wall make it so unique. They have a pretty extensive menu, and I ordered a Garden Muse salad and it was delicious. I'm really simple and when it comes to salads, as long as the ingredients are fresh I'm happy. This hit the nail on the head. I added chicken and that made it super filling. The dressing wasn't sweet (which I prefer) and it's safe to say this is one of my new favorite salads :) I also ordered one of the latte specials which was a birthday cake latte. They were accommodating with my order of half sweet, and it was so good! I can't wait to come back for brunch! I'm already looking forward to it.

We sat at an outside table and asked if the area around the table could be cleaned as there were a lot of bird droppings next to it. Unhealthy as well as gtoss! The manager came out and explained it can only be cleaned off with a power washer and that is done once a week. (Obviously not today!) She (manager) did cover the soiled area with a damp dish towel. When our order came out the food was mixed up on the plates---my eggs, husband's sausage, etc. The plates were removed and brought back out. Unfortunately the food was not as ordered and now too cool to eat as well as not prepared as ordered. We were offered a redo of our food but declined at that point. Sad to say we will not return.

I've never really seen a double decker cafe, but this cafe has two separate dining rooms! We opted for the upstairs. It was super clean and modern inside. The service was so amiable and helpful, we really felt at home. You order at the counter but plenty of people come around to ask if you need help. An older gentleman kept asking if we needed anything else, he even grabbed us waters and ketchup! The food was pretty good. I started with an Iced Vanilla Latte and it had such a good flavor. Not too sweet and I could actually taste the coffee. We tried two sandwiches, the Grilled Chicken Gyro and the Olympian Stack Sandwich. My Mom thought her Gyro was good but a tad dry. The house-made tzaziki really helped add some moisture though. I LOVED the Olympian Stack sandwich. The horseradish and roast beef was packed full of flavor. Plus, the fries on the sides of our dishes were super crispy. We would come back, and sooner rather than later! Besides the gyro, everything was 5 star worthy.

It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!

She did an excelling job telling us about their specials. It was obvious not only were they passionate about the quality of their ingredients, but so much love and thoughtfulness went into every food item and beverage. The coffee is roasted on site every Wednesday and is delicious (and refills were free for dine-in customers...waitresses were coming asking if you'd like a top off regularly). My husband had the Cuban panini with a cup of chicken noodle soup (amazing) and I had the Three Blind Mice panini "dilly dilly style" with a cup of their curried squash soup (also, all amazing). We weren't planning on getting a dessert, but after everything else was fantastic, and you see the desserts in the display counter...you just have to! We split a piece of their Reese's Peanut Butter Triple Chocolate cake...served warm with a side of homemade whipped cream. Let's just say, I'll be dreaming about that cake for the rest of my life! But above the delicious homemade food, desserts, and coffee was the heart of the cafe. This is a place you come and sit and make new friends. The seating is set up for you to stay a while and share a table with another smiling face and have conversations--face to face. I don't think I saw a single person alone scrolling on their phones or on their laptop. We met a lovely local gentleman named Dennis who came and sad with us. He was so kind and told us so much local history. We left feeling refreshed and cared for. The quote on the back of the waitresses' shirts is one from the great Dolly Parton, "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours." And let me tell you, everyone we met there lives up to Ms. Parton's sentiment. Oh, and I must say the decor is so warm, cozy, and just downright cute! Thank you so much to everyone at Bourbon Cafe and Coffee Saloon. You fed our bellies and our spirits. I hope our paths cross again soon.

One of the best parts of the Katy Trail is you blend remote, pure nature, with surprising and fun little stops that pop up throughout the journey. We had zero idea that the KT Caboose had been taken over and was open for business, but man, we were very pleasantly surprised. Not only is it on brand, being a caboose on the former rail line, it's like it was truly made for cyclists needing a nice pit stop. Shady umbrellas, trail views, and nice restrooms make this a total win. We got some ice cream and French press coffee, two of my favorite things in the world. It was wonderful, and I want to emphasize that what I am about to say is not a typo: it was *UNDER* priced. Yes, you read that right. In an era where grocery bills seem to add +$30 every week, and my old Amazon staples have all doubled, this place was actually underpriced. I don't remember exactly but an ice cream sundae with fresh fruit, several cups of coffee, and a big ice cream waffle cone were well under ten bucks. Johnny, feel free to bump them up a bit because we want you to make enough and to stay open for many years, otherwise we'll leave continue to just leave some extra as a tip for you next time in. There aren't a ton of places on the Katy since it's so rural and spread out, but with spots like Meriweather Cafe back west in Rocheport, and this spot, they really shine bright and make an impact. Grateful to have them and can't wait to be back in on our June ride!
