Slow down or you'll miss it!!
Gregory G B.

Nearly missed Audrey's on the way to Sandpoint. Located on Highway 2 in Newport, we entered to find a breakfast/lunch mix of tourists and locals inside. Like many stops in this part of the country, it is cozy, comfortable and friendly. The menu is built of staples found in any small town cafe. We enjoyed a late breakfast (served all day) of pork chops and eggs and German sausage and eggs. I was impressed that the chops were tender yet had a bit of a crust. The sausage came with biscuit and honey. We laughed because the honey packet said: Ingredients...Honey. The service was very friendly and unhurried. We loved it all. Slow down as you enter Newport or you'll miss something special!!

We had breakfast in this Small locals restaurant in Newport Washington. Friendly staff with large portions even for the Senior menu. We both ordered breakfast, mine was a very typical meal. Husbands French toast looked very nice. We left satisfied and happy with whole experience.

As served on the bottom, plain boiled and grated potatoes on the top.

All day breakfast - yay! I just heard that they desperately need a cook, which probably explains our experience. I'll leave the review but we will give it another try next time we're up that way. Big pancake was good but the syrup wasn't. No flavor. My husband ended up putting jam on it. The bacon was good and the scrambled eggs were fine. I ordered the special, 2 eggs, hash browns and bacon. I asked for the hash browns to be crispy. Maybe that offended the server or the cook. The "hash browns" had barely been warmed through and nowhere were they crispy. (See pics) I imagined a big bowl of boiled potatoes in the kitchen that was grated for every couple of orders and then microwaved and served. I don't get it.

From our table, after Sheila cleared off our table.

Day 2 in Newport and breakfast at Audrey's. Kayd is our server this morning. The food is great and the staff, Sheila and Kayd are friendly and welcoming. Thanks to the cooks for the good food. Hospitality lives here at Audrey's.

We drive by here all the time going into Newport, however, they're always so busy. We've never stopped. Today. We took a chance and we're pleasantly surprised that for breakfast they were not very busy. It was our first visit here and the food was really good. The service was great and will definitely come back again. Also, the prices are pretty darn good for what you get. Especially right now with the economy. We had the pork chops with gravy breakfast. My husband loved it. I had the six out steak breakfast and it was really good. Next time I'm trying the German sausage.

This is your typical small town, slightly outdated diner. The burgers we had I believe were precooked frozen patties that were reheated. It was pretty bland and quite greasy. The accompanying veggie toppings were fresh as was the hogue bun. The fries are the thin 'breaded' variety and were also somewhat greasy. I believe they also must cook the chicken and fish in the same oil as the fries as they had a slight taste of such items. We finished with a slice of huckleberry pie. This is really a slice of plain cheesecake with a huckleberry topping over it. It was pretty decent although not 'pie' as advertised. Service here was very good. The waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout. Overall it was fun trying a new place but unfortunately it was nothing more than meh.

Chicken fried steak and a side of awesome pancakes!

Steaming hot coffee with amazing staff... Home cooked and hometown feel. Love this place!

Seriously the huckleberry waffle is so delicious. Love this place! Couldn't get a before picture because it looked so good.

The huckleberry waffle was to die for. Great food and service. Huckleberries galore. The eggs were great too.

Consistently great, fast and huge portions. Still one of the best places for breakfast and fantastic homemade pies.

I can't remember our server's name but she had a nice deep theatrical voice and wore glasses and took such great care of us. She was lovely. When you first pull up to the restaurant, you couldn't expect the amount of detail and pride that we discovered inside. The local artwork throughout the restaurant was not to be missed as well as the owner's welding skills are to be appreciated. We met Robbie at the end of our visit and got a tour of his place. Such a cool story and restaurant to know. Food -- I loved my entire meal and was so glad I didn't have to share halvsies like we usually do! The pear truffle salad was amazing. I wish I got the recipe. The filet was done to perfection. I usually don't love a lot of sauce on my steak but I loved what came on mine. I forced myself to finish my steak as full as I was. I just knew it wouldn't be as perfect and it was so good and cooked perfectly medium rare. Dessert was a nice treat and just the right size and way to end the evening. The pictures don't do justice to how wonderful and cozy this place is. Thank you for a memorable evening and delicious meal. We will definitely recommend to our friends and visit again when we are back in the area!

The Food Their pork belly appetizer was so delicious, cooked…read moreby sous vide and then finished to sear the outside. The texture was awesome. The halibut entree was so yummy, with such interesting combination of flavors that all went so well, even though I would never think of putting half of them together. Our server helped us choose a bottle of red wine that would accompany my fish and my husband's steak, and it was a great recommendation. Dessert was the Turtle cheesecake, and was creamy, dense, and not overly sweet (which I like so that I can enjoy the whole thing!). The Ambiance This is the second time my husband and I have celebrated an anniversary at Satay, and it continues to be such an enjoyable place and experience for an intimate upscale dinner together. The Service Grace was our server, and it made all the difference. She was knowledgeable, respectful, affable, and I could tell she loves her work. She also did a phenomenal job of subtly and gently leading us in particulars of etiquette without being obvious or condescending. Working in fine dining is a delicate profession no matter where one is, so kudos to you, Grace, for doing it smoothly and graciously. Thank you again, Satay, for an exquisite evening.

We decided on lunch at 113 on my recommendation, as it's always been in my wife's top picks. The staff/ owner/ crew took us right in and accommodated the dog as a guest (out is a service dog, a very senior one, but really is) and made my out of town friends feel like family. The food? Once again, everyone left with full bellies and impressed with the quality we were served. Go here. You will be glad you did.

Hostess then arrived and got us seated right away despite it being a bustling night. GREAT ambience - lively but not loud - no need to raise voice to talk with your party. Server came out promptly and took great care of us. My sister got the Jasmine and it was as great tasting as it was beautiful - tart, so if you like tart drinks get it and don't think twice. The Focaccia Bread WITH the steamer clams was a great appetizer (soak the bread in the tomato juice!) and the entrees were SO GOOD. The Chilean Sea Bass was PERFECTLY cooked and was up there in the best we've ever had. The pesto gnocchi + squash it rested on was delightful and the perfect combination. The Peruvian Chicken was ALSO perfectly cooked and its sauce was to die for. The potatoes that went along with were salted just right. Great great great, highly recommend whether you're having dinner or going to the bar with a friend for a LIVELY kind of experience
