I will be recommending Marcus to anyone and everyone I know that needs any low voltage, wiring, etc. work done! 10/10 on everything from service to quality to value!

Once we connected via social media and text, he was extremely responsive and he scheduled quickly the work to be done a few days later. Today 1/21/2025 he arrived, setup my network, configured it, taught me about the app that controls it and worked to make sure the installation was clean, neat, and the wiring / cable management was done well. We still have some additional pieces to finish, but are waiting on a back ordered product. So as promised, I've updated the review accordingly based on the work done today. I will update it again once we are fully complete.

I've been really disappointed in Intuitive AV's team and I question the positive reviews I read…read morebefore hiring them to install a surveillance system at my home. IAV designed its scope based on the needs I described (I needed 8 cameras that would record 24/7 and record all human or vehicular motion...plain and simple). IAV strongly recommended the Luma camera system. I agreed and they installed. They forgot to set up motion alerts during the installation. After a lot of back and forth, including pushback from their sole in-house engineer Eddie, IAV reluctantly sent their technician back to the property. He updated the settings to allow notification. Now I receive literally 300 notifications a day because a leaf on the corner of my property will wiggle in the breeze. We turned down the sensitivity to a 2 and I still get hundreds of notifications. See attached pics for a small window of time. The system cries wolf and is completely ineffective. I've asked Eric the CEO to send someone back to the house to fix the settings but he refuses saying I signed off on the installation and he's no longer responsible for it even though we're well within the 12 month warranty period. I've filed claims with the state licensing agency and Secretary of State. This is a sad situation but IAV just doesn't have the manpower or expertise to solve basic surveillance problems. I get the feeling they are spread really thin.

He was upbeat, responsive, and took the time to answer every question I had--always offering thoughtful advice along the way. Throughout the entire process, Jake delivered an outstanding experience. Even during the install, he'd ask for my input on placement and setup, and when I'd flip the question back to him--"What would you do if this was your TV?"--he always gave honest, helpful recommendations that I truly appreciated. When my contractor dropped the ball on installing an outlet, Jake didn't miss a beat. He simply said, "Don't worry, I've got it," and sure enough, he handled it with ease--and the result was amazing. I can't say enough about Jake's professionalism, attention to detail, and the care he puts into every install. He treats your home like it's his own, making sure that once the job is done, you'll absolutely love how it turned out. They were very quick to respond to my initial request with the information I needed. After exchanging some necessary information, we scheduled an install date. Their pricing was very competitive. He began his work and was incredibly thorough in his approach. He unmounted my old/dead TV and prepped for the new one. Once he got it mounted, everything looked great with all the cables hidden. We went through the initial setup together to insure everything was in working order. Jake cleaned up after himself to the point you wouldn't have known he'd even been there. I can't recommend them enough for their quality work and their professionalism.

After a near-miss with some lightning, which completely knocked out my First Alert system, I found out how Ackerman makes all their money - the estimate was over $650 to replace the board and that didn't include any additional bits that might need replacing (had to replace two door sensors too). I ended up buying my own Ademco kit and hiring SPS for both the install and monitoring. This time I went with a wireless unit for phone (the lightning came in via the phone line - it actually hit the service pole). A call brought Bo Beaven from SPS out to look things over and give me an estimate - their hourly rate was HALF what Ackerman charges - and since I got my own equipment when John the installer came out it was a breeze, and half again the estimated time I got from Ackerman. The entire experience was fantastic. I also ended up using them for the monitoring - which came out about the same as what Ackerman was charging me, even with the added expense for the cell service on the wireless phone. Recently I was throwing a code and was able to get a human on the phone with the first call, and get a live technician with instructions to clear the code over the phone.
