First off had to take my car to these people four times every time it kept getting worse The first problem was the four channel amplifier cutting out the back right channel had to take it to someone else they figured it out The two wires they used to connect together they did not put electrical tape on and left it loose in the kick panel touching the metal of the car which was stopping the speaker from working and cutting in and out. Then I took it to them hopefully to get a third amp installed they didn't tell me they it wouldn't work when obviously there's no way it would work without creating problems with your alternator. Keep in mind these are professionals when you have 130 amp alternator and you have 500 amps of amplifiers and they hook it up and don't tell you this won't work they're not professionals. Then they hooked up the audio control box because after they installed the third amp they didn't correctly install it the right way for the center speaker not to mention the car was lagging because there's no way the alternator could handle three amplifiers. They told me it was the RCAs so I got the audio control box had them hook it up they hooked it up wrong and it messed with my digital dash because they didn't put a relay on it and I was getting weird smell coming from the car had to take it to someone else for them to fix the problems these people created intentionally because it's the fourth time I took my car to them and it kept getting worse and they knew I was giving them one star review so I think the intentionally messed up my car now it's at the dealership so they can try to figure out what's going on didn't have one single problem until these people touched my car for two and a half years with 17,000 miles on the car These people are a joke and if they messed up something in my car they are going to have a lawsuit they do not answer emails they do not answer text messages very horrible unbelievable do not take your car here. read more

These guys are a waste of time and money, avoid! They quoted me for an install of a stereo, weBoost and dashcam. I had to wait till Tuesday for the install because they aren't open mondays, that was an issue because I came to El Paso to get my new car customizations done and wanted to be done and gone by Saturday. Anyway, I show up bright and early Tuesday AM, and they tell me that they will not install the weBoost! WILL. NOT. INSTALL. This is an item I had already installed myself on another vehicle (not wired in) and then had wired in professionally with another audio shop. No explanation other than "the tech said we cant do it". JUST WOW! The good news is, I drive over to Dyer and took my car to a shop that I talked it no problem, and their installation guy was very familiar with weBoost and had installed several in the past -- oh and they installed everything in just under 5 hours and LESS THAN HALF THE COST these useless clowns quoted. If we could give it zero stars, we would. Paying up front before the service was done should have been our first red flag. We paid $1300 up front for a part we were told perfectly hooked into our truck (2018 Ram Rebel) in all aspects. The part they had to order for the install took over a week longer to arrive than we were told. Once it arrived, they never called us to tell us. We had to keep calling to check. Once it arrived and we took the truck for the install, no one called us to tell us the truck was ready so we showed up to check after 4 hours and apparently it was done an hour prior. When we checked the install, the console in the truck was clearly crooked and the buttons were stuck/not working in some areas. Then we realized that the usb ports that came with the center console from the factory no longer worked, only to be told they weren't compatible with the new audio console unit we paid for even though we were told at the time we bought it "everything" was compatible. We were then told we needed to talk to the manager about taking it out or getting any kind of refund, but the manager was apparently also completely unreachable at a training and not available until 3 days from now. We will be calling back to talk to the manager in 3 days, but overall just really unprofessional, terrible work, and no effort to rectify the situation. Absolutely dissatisfied. Let me count the ways...this will be a combined review of two visits months apart, same vehicle, different things being installed. 1st Visit -I brought EVERYTHING in that I wanted to have installed, 5 Channel AMP, crossovers, equalizer, subs, amp kit, etc. I told them how much space I wanted the custom box they were going to build it to take up in my trunk. The vehicle had been ready for several days, but because I was out of town I couldn't pick it up and then when I did go to pick it up the box in the trunk was about twice the size I wanted it to be, I can fit a large suitcase laying on its side and a backpack and they had forgotten to hook up a connection so the vehicle wouldn't go into drive, now this is after they have had it sitting there for days and I had to come back the next day when they fixed it. Then if I turn the audio up about 1/2 way it cuts out. This isn't cheap aftermarket equipment either. They left tools and trash in the vehicle as well. 2nd Visit My left front door speaker went out so I swung by and dropped it off. They charge you $54 right off the bat before even touching it, $40 for 30 min worth of troubleshooting and almost $10 for "shop supplies" and then there is tax. How the heck are you charging me shop supplies and you haven't provided any supplies? They called me up and said the crossovers for the components on both speakers were bad, so I told them to go ahead and replace the fronts with some components. They called me and said my vehicle was ready about 90 minutes after I dropped it off and the cost $240 on top of the $54 I already paid. So $300 to replace a set of speakers. Fine, I came the next day because after all I have to coordinate a ride to pick me up and so they pull the vehicle around and as soon as I open the door I am pissed. There is trash on the floor board (wire/clips) my old components just sitting in the passenger floor, my seats are reclined all the way back, my driver seat is moved all the way back and steering wheel all the way up and when they took off my cell phone charger/mount they pulled out the cigarette lighter piece and didn't bother putting it back in place. Now, why would I be upset that my steering wheel was all the way up and my seat all the way back? Because, they wouldn't move forward, there was no power to my mirrors, seats, dome lights, etc. So I have to get back to work and my ride that dropped me off is long gone. There was no manager, hardly an apology, and when I said I can be back at 4:30 PM (they close at 5 on Sundays) I was told the techs leave at 4:00 come back tomorrow...WTH! After work I did some research on what it could be, drove to Auto Zone bought some new fuses and pulled the fuse people said it probably was, and sure enough it was blown. Which means they didn't do the first rule of working on car audio...UNHOOK THE BATTERY SO YOU DON'T BLOW ANYTHING! Tons of money spent, rushed work, terrible customer service. NO NO NO read more

so this is gonna be long and upfront about 2 visits 1st visit a year ago. I have a 2020 Audi A3 got a kicker L7 12" square sub. had the car for 2weeks at this point and it was freshly tinted. they scratched the tint and damaged it now with a visible hole from the front. they declined doing it after arguing and threatening to sue they gave me worse quality tint that had been sitting in there back room for years since they last tinted cars. I guess they fixed it if you consider the 2hrs of scraping gunk from my good tint off to put the worse tint back on. 2nd visit today June 6 2024 I called in at 11:35am to confirm price and if they could do it today. I was told ~$600 over the phone and if I came in within the next hour I could get it done today. so I drove 1hour 20minutes from white sands missile range New Mexico to come get it done. I arrive within that time they said to and it's "so you're price will be $1400 with everything" they're excuse was "oh he probably only quoted you the speakers themselves" then I bargained and said "okay let's just install the speakers today and not the 4channel that will be later" now it's "oh we don't have any room to get you done today" after I drove an hour and a half I was told over the phone I could have it done same day. Then they denied speaking to me in the phone at all as there was only 2 there and they didn't remember it. so I'm paying off the sub on the brand auto source card today and closing the account this place deserves the 2star and honestly lower nothing but shady business. On vacation came into town with a charming issue with my auxiliary battery system. Figured out on the road that the problem was a fuse housing was not allowing the fuse to make a secure connection. So I called around town and found this place. When in and the young men there were very helpful and professional. Honest too they informed that I could install the fuse housing myself if they did they'd have to charge me. I went ahead and let them install it .It so quick I didn't have time to finish a cigarette. Audio Express: went to the Lee Trevino location. Needed a new speaker for my passenger side door. It's blown. Also needed a new head unit... The original head unit in my car has a tape deck still... Yea.. A tape deck. Short but sweet. I was able to get 2 kenwoods 6.5" door speakers, and a 2 din LVC head unit with pandora radio, Bluetooth, USB, all installed, plus 1 year warranty for speakers and radio (yes if you blow the speakers they'll replace them) for $430. Once dropping my car off, they told me 1.5 hrs. Can't remember how long it took, but there's a chilis in the parking lot. I walked over, ate, came back in, went into waiting area and watched 1 episode of Seinfeld and then, done. Just like that. Stereo works great. Fits great, no issues. Speakers are very clear and of good sound quality. Only thing left now is to go back and get a subwoofer (just 1 10") to compete the sound. The kenwoods 6.5 inches and my tweeters deliver very clear and quality highs and mids, just need one sub to round out the sound spectrum. Overall I've had one experience with these gentleman, a employee named Ralph, and I've been pleased with both the product and pricing. I will be returning. Hopefully another good deal. So, i bought my stereo display along with a backup camera kit and an alarm system (Viper) on 14 feb 2015. Long story short; my stereo display works when it wants to i.e. it'll take seconds to even minutes for it to turn on or actually push out sound! I already took it back months later within 2015 for checks, and this issue is still happening. Now, about my backup camera installation...the wire leading from the truck to the camera were not even installed correctly! I had to tighten the screws myself because the camera kept facing the ground, & the wire didn't even sit in place correctly above my license plate holder. Poor technician work, luckily i like working on my vehicles as a hobby. I'll be doing BETTER upgrades on a cheaper price with better quality items and technicians in the near future. I stopped by to see what options there were to get my wife a touchscreen deck with bluetooth as a present. The guys there were really cool, and they knew a lot about all of the different products they had in stock. They were really patient with me while I browsed, and asked a bunch of questions regarding this or that. When I finally made my decision, they were really get my vehicle in the shop and start working on the install. They provided me with all of my old equipment, and walked me through step by step with what was being done, as well as what exactly was being installed. From the start, they told me it would be about 3 hours to complete the entire install, so I walked out to the applebees (located in the parking lot)and enjoyed a meal there. 2 hours and 45 minutes later, I get a call from the guys letting me know my vehicle was done. They did great work.. The equipment worked exactly like they said it would, and it sounded great. They also fixed a small issue with the factory subwoofer for free, so now my wife's car sounds even better than before. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

They had it perfect when they installed it, I fucked up the settings and had a minor manufactures defect, I took it in again and they fixed it with no problems and sounds amazing even with stock speakers, spending a little extra for the warranty goes a long way!!! Crazy cool staff with a fuck load of real answers and real knowledge. I will always go here, they did right by me. Next step is to get my JL Audio c3's and crank the shit outta the speakers. I had a Viper Smartstart system installed In my 2012 Chrysler 300S in September of 2012 at Audio Express located at 5850 N. Mesa, El Paso, TX. The system stopped working due to the recent 3G CDMA tower upgrade. I contacted Directed and purchased the appropriate module and took it to Mobile Concepts in Mokena, IL, (an authorized dealer) for installation. The shop owner told me that whoever installed my alarm system did a very unprofessional job and I would have to pay approximately $400-500 dollars to repair the wiring and install the Viper system to a satisfactory state. His exact words were, "I'm suprised this didn't catch fire!". Photos were taken of the work performed by Audio Express and are available upon request. I reached out to an Audio Express manager (located at 1506 N. Lee Trevino Suite A1, El Paso, TX. Apparently the Audio Express located at 5850 N. Mesa, El Paso, TX that performed the work on my car is no longer open for business) on Saturday, December 16, 2017 and expressed my concern with the installation that was performed by their company. I was told that there was nothing they could do and I would have to drive my vehicle from Illinois to Texas for repair. I have already invested well over $300 dollars (the upgraded Smartstart module, labor and installation costs, mileage to and from the car audio shop, and Smartstart plan renewal) to have my system updated, and as of now, my remote start still does work. I called Directed's customer service for assistance and was told to take my car back to the Mobile Concepts to diagnose my current problem. I believe this is unacceptable considering, Audio Express is an authorized dealer and installer of your products and someone needs to take accountability for my current situation. I will continue to communicate my frustration until an appropriate response is given by either Directed Electronics or Audio Express in El Paso, TX. I have a feeling that I'm not the only customer that has been negatively affected by Audio Express. All things considered, I now have $2500 dollar, GPS-enabled, remote start system that has been relegated to nothing more than a standard car alarm. Pathetic. I should have read the reviews here first. Was ripped, then ripped again. System crapped out in the first month. Then when I went in to ask for service... I got 2 options. Send it back to Kenwood myself, or for $30 bucks, they'll replace it new. The "new" took an hour and only thing that was replaced was the unit. Absolutely TERRIBLE establishment. For one, the man who claims to be the "manager" is a very shady individual who claimed to give me a huge discount because I am military. He charged me 120 dollars for a basic cd player install because I have a Bose audio system. Also his "system was down" so I was unable to get a receipt and had to pay in cash. The only equipment used was about a dollar worth of wire connectors and I paid for both a Volkswagen harness adapter and a ground wire which was a SCREW that I found dangling around behind my dash because my radio was cutting in and out. I went back in simply requesting the correct hardware and this manager proceeded with being bipolar. Swinging from an apologetic to an angry toward me tone. Overpriced. Terrible technicians. Paid this guys $2600 for a full Professional install, HU 4 speakers amp and sub, had to take truck back 2 times, speakers kept cutting off, I was still not happy with the sound quality, even though they recommended the system, so I decided to do an upgrade, since back in the day I worked as an installer ( 8 track days) but anyways I"m retired senior electronics tech, I discovered that door speaker brackets had been removed and speakers mounted on the door metal and held by 2 screws, and the speaker harness adapters sent to me with the rest of the equipment had not been used, my fracking OEM speaker wire plugs had been cut and crimps had been used. The amp was not secured properly, they drilled on the floor (3 holes) for the ground wire for the amp, next to the bolt that I used which provides perfect ground, so now there are 3 holes that were not necessary, which I had to seal. The audio cable was ran next to the power cable, well anyways I will not do any more business with this or any other of their shops, because every time I think about it I get torque up. read more
