I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Audi Queens and feel very misled throughout this entire process\.
We brought our Audi in on August 20 because of a transmission issue\. After diagnosing the vehicle, we were told they found the problem and the repairs would cost approximately $4,700\. We specifically explained that we live out of state in North Carolina and needed to make sure the vehicle was safe and drivable before we returned to pick it up\. We were assured that the problem was fixed\.
We paid the bill and picked the vehicle up about a week later\. Within only 30 minutes of driving, the car started shaking again and the warning light came back on\. We immediately contacted the service representative and were initially told that this could happen because the vehicle has over 100,000 miles\. We made it clear that we were NOT comfortable driving the car all the way back to North Carolina in that condition and asked them to check it again\.
We were told to give them two days\. A week passed with no real update\. Meanwhile, my husband remained in New York waiting for the vehicle, which cost us even more money, time, and inconvenience\.
When my husband finally went back to the dealership in person, we were told another issue had been found and they needed another day or two\. We were later informed that this "new" repair would cost approximately $9,000\. Because we had already paid thousands for the first repair, they offered to discount the new repair by approximately $3,000, leaving us with another bill of around $6,800\. That brings our total repair cost to more than $11,000\.
My biggest concern is how this major issue was not identified during the original diagnosis\. Before bringing the vehicle to Audi, other professionals told us they believed the problem involved a sensor or electronic component and that Audi would likely need to handle it\. Yet Audi Queens did not identify that issue until AFTER the first repair failed to correct the problem\.
Had we been told from the beginning that this vehicle could potentially require more than $11,000 in repairs, we could have made an informed decision before spending the first $4,700\.
What makes this experience even more disappointing is that we have lost time, money, and honestly a lot of hope throughout this process\. My husband has had to stay in New York longer waiting for a vehicle we were originally told was fixed, while we continued dealing with additional expenses and uncertainty\.
I have owned and serviced luxury vehicles with Lexus and BMW, and my experiences with their service departments have been completely different\. I understand that repairs can be expensive, especially on higher\-mileage luxury vehicles\. However, the prices quoted by Audi Queens also appeared significantly higher than the service prices we have experienced at other Audi dealerships and luxury\-brand service centers for comparable diagnostic and repair work\. My issue is not simply the cost\. It is the communication, the original diagnosis, being told the vehicle was fixed, and then having the same problem return within 30 minutes\.
We are now looking at more than $11,000 in repairs, the vehicle has been there for weeks, and after everything we have been through, we still don't have complete confidence that this repair will finally resolve the issue\.
At this point, I truly wish I had read the service reviews before bringing our vehicle here\. Based on our experience, I would recommend getting a second opinion, comparing prices with other Audi dealerships and qualified independent shops, and asking very detailed questions before authorizing thousands of dollars in repairs at Audi Queens\.
