This company was once reliable, and although their prices were on the higher side, the work was generally done properly. However, after a recent service call, I can no longer recommend them. In my experience, both the professionalism and competence of the current team have dropped significantly. What Happened: We scheduled a service visit for a refrigerator repair. The technician who arrived explained to my wife how she could supposedly fix the issue herself -- yet still charged the full-service fee. He then went on to suggest returning to our home privately, outside of the company, to perform unrelated repair work. We declined this offer because it felt completely inappropriate and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the "advice" given for self-repair turned out to be entirely incorrect. We ultimately had to hire a different appliance repair company, who quickly identified the actual problem and replaced the necessary component. Refund Issues: I contacted the owner multiple times. We mutually agreed that the service fee should be refunded due to the poor and misleading service. Despite several follow-ups and repeated assurances that the refund would be issued, we still have not received it. Bottom Line: Based on this experience, I strongly recommend avoiding Appliance Medic. What was once a trustworthy company has, in my view, become unreliable and unprofessional. Bruce seemed very willing to help us and very knowledgeable answered all my questions even about appliances that he didn't carry. Was not pushy at all. Needless to say we decided to make our purchase from Silver City since our total was a $600 difference from P.C. Richards and Bruce even got us $1200 in rebates. The story: After calling GE repair and hearing that I'd have to wait a week for a service call that would unlock the oven door on my GE Profile. I was not happy, I called A to Z and left a message. Within minutes, I got a call back. Within two hours Simcha was at my door. He listened carefully to my recounting of what happen and what I did to attempt a fix. Then he went to work. Soon he had my oven door off and the innards of the range top exposed. He explained that a motor was likely burnt out and a control board might be as well. He suggested a plan - order both, replace the motor only,(a less expensive part) then test it. If it works - her returns the control board (much more expensive,) and if the motor doesn't fit the prolbem, there's no additional wait. We made a plan - but then he found out the motor was not stocked by his supplier, he ordered it and put the Profile back together so that I could use the oven and stove - but no self cleaning till the new motor. He gave me all the pricing for the two options. He also pointed out that the self-lean had partially melted the with that activated the oven light when the door is opened. He had looked up the part had had a price for me on that as well.I was very surprised how low the options were after all the time he had put in. I approved the added work, Simcha called later to tell me he had found a new supplier who had them in stock. Two days later he was back. Replaced the motor, replaced the light - problem solved! Paid via Chase Quick pay. As good as it gets.

Scott, the manager, responded back that the skimmer and pole were two separate items, and that the skimmer didn't come with a pole. I sent him a copy of my order showing that I had indeed ordered the two separate items. I have yet to hear back from him on this. Hopefully this will be resolved, and I will be able to edit this review when it is. Update I received a refund for the missing pole. I am not sure why the pole was never sent, but I am glad to have my money returned.
