If I could give them a 1,000 star review I would. From my first time visiting the store, Eric…read moreanswered all my questions. I was in need of a washer and dryer. Sandos and his crew came and delivered my new appliances, installed and took away my old ones. Arrived on time too. They were so pleasant. Definitely different experience than going to a big box store. Will recommend and use them in the future!

When I was in need of a new washer, I wanted to support a small & local business. The only problem…read morewas my salesperson Eric. I explained during the sale process that my street is very steep and will therefore require a small truck or van to get up street. This was agreed upon and we moved forward with the sale and a delivery for the next day. Sounds great so far, right? Of course, the delivery instructions were ignored and the poor driver got stuck on the hill and was unable to make the delivery. Poor guy probably lost an hour or two of his day with future deliveries delayed impacting other customers experiences - not to mention his own. If that was Eric's only error, this experience could have been salvaged but Eric was determined to make it worse. I called back the next day to get an update on a new delivery time. From there, Eric never returned my call. Not being home, I assumed he delivered it and case was closed. It was not until three weeks later I discovered house still had old washer. He never delivered it and never attempted to do so. When I called to find out what was happening and what the plan was, Eric told me he was "thinking about it". Really? For three weeks? Said he couldn't find a truck to get up the hill despite assuring me at the onset delivery would not be a problem. Said they had delivered to my street before without issue. Guess that means he didn't have to come up with a plan to get me my washer. You take my money and provide no goods? That's theft. I told Eric I wanted the transaction cancelled. I also asked him to have his manager call me because I still wanted to support WVA but I wanted someone who could complete the transaction to get credit for it. I also wanted WVA to have the opportunity to correct the wrong and get paid for the product. Never received said phone call. Slamming a small business doesn't feel good - especially when I set out with a different intention. But spending $800 on goods never received and with no plan to remedy the situation feels worse. A simple phone call with an update would have resolved it.

If you want to support a local business... you go to local store in Monticello to buy an appliance…read more The show room is nothing special it's not exactly elegant but again you're trying to support local business. The salesman is maybe a few notches below a car salesman in his demeanor and his honesty. You're being assured that you're getting the best price best deal I'm not shopping at a big box store with the appliances as good as the ones that you would buy in his shop. You ask him..."which one would you buy and put in your home" he sells you a model and assured you you've gotten a great deal. Nice as can be. You get your purchase and you realize that you've bought a piece of garbage not only is it a piece of garbage that breaks within a month. When you call him he never called you back, you look online to see if you can figure out why your doors keep shifting and find out the real shifting went on when you purchased it because there was a $200 rebate that he never told you about it when you try to apply for it you were told that it went to the dealer will you purchase the appliance from. So not only we ripped off for a crappy all plastic piece of garbage Appliance you have also been ripped off for your rebate. After two years most of the inside is broken the ice machine doesn't work you gave up trying to call the "owner/salesman" and vowed to never walk in the store again. That was my experience with Appliance city in Monticello New York. Buyer beware! Maybe you don't like Home Depot but you're better off there. If you really want service and accountability try Michael's in Middletown.

I hope other owners in this company step in and prevent you from running it into the ground. I gave Sohns multiple opportunities to fix the issue but other consumers should know how you practice business and that even with purchasing the extended wareanty, they are not bound to call you for that service. At the direction of the company you sell the policy for, it is not recommended we call you directly and the entire process goes faster if the consumer contacts them directly. They are also aware of the service issues in the more recent years. I'm sorry you can't find my order(s) but you also can't change your attitude or the past so you looking up my order would be of no help to anyone. Sohns used to be the place to go but with the younger generation taking over, they do NOT provide the same level of service. Ethan told us that installation was an "extra service" they offered and after coming back 3 times, still could not install the appliance correctly and refused to get the correct parts for proper installation. We offered to pay for installation, which is when we were told they do not offer that service. DO NOT CALL SOHNS FOR YOUR WARRANTY. CALL THE COMPANY DIRECTLY AND ASK FOR ANYONE BUT SOHNS to come repair your appliance. They sell it like it has to be them, but it doesn't. Buying local is no longer the best option. POOR customer service.

About once a month, I'd call for a status. The answer never varied: "Your parts are on order." In January, the stove parts, were in, so I said to go ahead at least with that. They failed to adjust the air/fuel mixture corectly. In March, I called and was told the parts for the vent were never ordered because they didn't have the serial number. I called the manufacturer, and had everything within twenty minutes. I called Sohn's, who then had me re-hash the entire story. They were going to charge me a service call for that repair, and another one for their faulty stove repair. My advice? RUN. Mama told me not to do business with people who refuse to tell the truth.
