    Cool lights! Very stranger things!

I've been coming to this mall since the early nineties (maybe even longer). Many of the store fronts still stand (R.I.P DEB) tho they are filled with other businesses or unused mall equipment. We entered in the afternoon to get some steps in (the freezing rain wasn't doing it for us outside). Upon entering there was a set of bathrooms, a gatorade machine ($1.75 each), and quarter candy machines galore. The businesses that were open had some mega sales going on, others looked vacant. The saddest vacant business I'd say is the candy counter (still standing tho completely empty) near the heart of the mall. The Dream Machine has been transformed into a huge arcade (they had a $5 pizza deal going on the day we were in), the J.C. Penny has a mini Sephora inside, and an old staple for me Papa Gino's - is now Pierette's serving up pastries, creton, pizza, soups and more. Bath & Body works appeared to be holding on strong with tons of traffic and so many sales (some up to 75% off). What was CVS, Deering Ice Cream, and a slew of other businesses is now an Orange Circuit Fitness. I caught a glimpse of some of the equipment tho didn't see anyone working out. The mall itself was clean, the islands of plants were well maintained, and it made for a great indoor walk. I'll definitely be back to get more steps in on another visit.

Nothing to say. More empty stores than open. Anchored by a J. C. Penny. That's all you need to know.

This place STINKS. What kind of mall doesn't have bathrooms? They eliminated the one bathroom they had in there.

Sometimes it feels like a mad dash as people are trying to get their supplies and they will cut right in front of you without excusing themselves. This is by no means the fault of the business, so I don't take stars off for a customer's observed behavior. Staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile if you wanted something they didn't have in stock, but they were able to find online. Sometimes a bit too long at the register as others are waiting to be helped. This one cashier kept pushing the customer to allow them to order the item she really wanted online and have it delivered to her home. She would say "I can wait, it's no problem", yet the cashier and Manager would not accept the answer. I get a sale is a sale, but you don't want to lose the guaranteed sales standing in your line either. That's my only complaint about this location.

Once her hair was dyed and came out orange the stylist told us that her hair couldn't get to the color of the photo. Still she reassured us that she would get as close as possible once they toned it. Once the process was all done and 3.5 hours had passed we saw that her hair was not only not close at all to the photos color but not blended at all. A straight line in the back clearly showing the brown from the blonde. Still we were being nice but obviously didn't want to pay full price for a botched hairstyle. We asked to speak to a manager when Anna showed up and started yelling at us saying we had to pay $140 for botched hair. We tried to reason with her but she kept speaking nasty to us saying well where do you work don't you understand that people make mistakes? To which we replied we do understand but also the customer is always right and when you botch someone's hair you don't make them pay that! Another customer was there to whitness this and also agreed that we shouldn't of payed and even stated she would be just walking straight out rather than being nice to them like we had. We ended up paying because the manager was quite threatening towards us but are currently reaching out to corporate to make a formal complaint on not just the store but specifically the manager who was so unprofessional and rude that she was making us cry.

I have a love / hate relationship with Goodwill in Auburn. Their selection is often great! However,…read moretheir prices have skyrocketed. Lower priced items here are often more expensive than to purchase new. They had some yarn that seemed marked up - I checked Walmart and it's less expensive new. I found the manager who handles pricing, explained that it's cheaper New from Walmart. His response? "Well this is Goodwill, not Walmart!". Indeed. A donations-driven nonprofit engaging in price gouging. Other outrageous pricing I've seen - beat up LLBean clothing being sold for twice the cost of similar apparel, damaged goods that they refuse to discount, etc. Soooo, maybe try an independent thrift store first. And please check prices on your phone! Or stick to the sale tag colors! Finally, consider donating elsewhere because while this place is mission driven, they're certainly making us customers pay more to increase already inflated upper management salaries - you can look that up.

Especially when looking new and expecting to pay huge amount more! knowing people shop at Goodwill since they are pinching pennies, the store does carry new items often the Big Lots type deals on either new cheap (both quality and price) clothing (shoes boots), accessories (gloves socks) as well as household items like aluminum wrap and zip locks. Even though we could not find a decent pair of snow boots for my daughter, the Sorels we saw for $25 for overpriced for such interior damage to the boot, she appropriately said no. Anyway thrift store shopping is always hit and miss but since i got a good hit with the duffel, I am happy.
