This place is a time capsule. The decor must not have been updated since the late 80s. It really…read moretook me back. Bathrooms are gross. Large shoe store, JC Penny, Spencer gifts. I didn't see a food court. Decent amount of stores, though for a place that looks like it should be abandoned. Super sales. Everything was 50% off or more in all the stores. I thought maybe it was going out of business but some of my family that's local said it's always been here. Appears to be a Goth counter culture hang out. Either that or NIN was in town.

I'm giving the Auburn Mall one star, but don't let that fool you. I love this place...not for what…read moreit is now, but for what it used to be. Back in the day, this was where you went to hang out with friends, wander the halls, and kill time. The mall never had a food court, and the dining options were limited, but somehow that never stopped us. I remember doing my Christmas shopping here every year and visiting Santa as a kid. The decorations weren't anything special, but it was still part of the season. The Maine Mall was always a better option with more stores and choices, but it was almost an hour away, so Auburn Mall was what most of us used. The anchors were JCPenney, which somehow is still here, and Porteous, which eventually became a TD Bank office. Most of the smaller stores are long gone. A few businesses remain, but many empty storefronts are now used to display what looks like the mall owner's personal collection of motorcycles. It feels less like a mall and more like someone's very strange private museum. Walking through the mall today is like stepping into a time capsule. The interior still has that unmistakable 1990s vibe, from the floors to the lighting to the decor. It's like no one ever thought to update it, which is both charming and a little sad. The place feels frozen in time, stuck somewhere between the past and the present. The entrance still sports that unmistakably 1990s sign. It's so outdated it's basically retro now. If a movie studio wanted a location for a 90s mall scene, this would be perfect as is. The Auburn Mall isn't really a mall anymore. It's a nostalgia trip with quiet hallways and plenty of memories. One star for what it is today. A thousand stars for what it once was.

I am disappointed to see how much customer service has declined. Where have the greetings from…read morecashiers, did you find everything, would you like a bag, thank you for shopping ,have a good day gone? Perhaps my cashier needs an update. You treat you first customer of the day and last customer exactly the same no matter how long your day was. I can speak from experience.

If I could give them less stars than I would. We just went in asking for a specific style and was…read morereassured they could do it. Once her hair was dyed and came out orange the stylist told us that her hair couldn't get to the color of the photo. Still she reassured us that she would get as close as possible once they toned it. Once the process was all done and 3.5 hours had passed we saw that her hair was not only not close at all to the photos color but not blended at all. A straight line in the back clearly showing the brown from the blonde. Still we were being nice but obviously didn't want to pay full price for a botched hairstyle. We asked to speak to a manager when Anna showed up and started yelling at us saying we had to pay $140 for botched hair. We tried to reason with her but she kept speaking nasty to us saying well where do you work don't you understand that people make mistakes? To which we replied we do understand but also the customer is always right and when you botch someone's hair you don't make them pay that! Another customer was there to whitness this and also agreed that we shouldn't of payed and even stated she would be just walking straight out rather than being nice to them like we had. We ended up paying because the manager was quite threatening towards us but are currently reaching out to corporate to make a formal complaint on not just the store but specifically the manager who was so unprofessional and rude that she was making us cry.

I was a bit kind when I wrote my first review given it was one of the few times I shopped in store…read more Now that I have been here several times, it's evident the Leadership is not taking it seriously or the customers have no respect for the products. The last few times I been in the store, there have been boxes wrapped in plastic and what appears to be the materials to rebuild a wall display without anyone around them. It's as if someone was going to start to put the display together, stopped and never returned to it. There are a number of clothing racks that have clothes just thrown onto it or on the floor. Employees walk by it and ignore the appearance which makes it look like you are at a thrift store. Kohl's is supposed to be reputable from a corporate standpoint, but the leadership at this location don't care about the appearance. I personally would not buy clothes that was thrown on the the floor or into the display. The only area in the store where appearance and cleanliness is maintained is Sephora which appears to have driven some excitement by many given their reputation. The one positive about my last visit is I forgot my Kohl's card, which I rarely use, and they were able to look me up in the system (after handing them my photo ID) and I could apply my purchase onto the card without having it with me. Other than that, the store is in shambles and quite honestly I am shocked it's still open given I can't imagine its raking in the money the same way its stores are in other locations.

I called to asked if they could hold some foundation and lady was so nice on the phone she walked to and got somebody to help me over the phone and was able to get the product I needed and put it on hold at the register for my husband to pick up. At this point I work nights so he went out during the day to go get it and what do you think happened NO SERVICE! Did he get the make up no why because nobody there would help him and swear they did not have nothing for him! So when he gets back home I call the store where when the girl picked it up the phone she said "oh yes ma'am I have it right here!" So the manager gets on the phone says they did everything possible called my husband a lier and then I was given the phone back for the man to hang up. All I can say is hanging up on people is the perfect customer service when you are wrong!
