This is a high traffic area and I appreciate how kind and attentive some of the staff members were. We were there the Saturday of the Oyster Festival in 2026 - so I know there were a lot of people in the area. They have to manage with all walks of life and they do not seem flappable. They were present and helpful as needed. Some seemed to avoid customers, I'm guessing they were focused on cleaning and organizing. This store is one of the best Island Treasure locations I have been to. There's an upstairs AND a downstairs. They had some great sales the day we went. One part of the store the kids really enjoyed was the book/library section in the back - which was great for them to sit and read a book in quiet and pick out a book they wanted to buy. We picked up some fun things for the kids - Legos of course was one of them. Great value, especially if you sign up for the loyalty point program. Prices were competitive and they had some great sales happening, which combined with points...just makes for an excellent deal. If the area, I will definitely stop by again.

We were standing there smelling the colognes (bottle to the nose) and I decided my to ditch my husband for the clearance racks. Im 30 feet away when one of the employees says, while bagging a customer order "sir, you cant spray the cologne because some customers may have allergies". My husband looks up and says "yep, I understand- I havent sprayed anything" (he works in the medical field) she continues in front of at least 20 people standing in line, and 10 more people at the registers- "if you spray it and someone wants to buy it then they cant return it". He states again "I havent sprayed anything". A few key notes here, he was the ONLY African American in the building, she did not say anything to him until I walked away AND she accused him multiple times when he hadn't sprayed anything at all. We left because he was embarrassed and angry, and called the store and spoke with a manager-who wasnt impressed. No cologne was sprayed, but there arent signs stating that cologne cant be sprayed. She didnt speak the same to the gentleman who was there before us, and I have never been spoken to about spraying or not spraying cologne in that store. I heard her from 30 feet away, and everyone was staring at my husband as if he HAD done something wrong. Hang it up lady.

The selection seems to change often, as do the purchased goods they also offer (which includes art from locals!). What you like today may not be sold tomorrow. This shop is way more popular than the review count would imply. I was here for less than an hour my last visit and around half a dozen others visited or left in that time. It's a cool spot to just walk around for a while on your way to somewhere else and a nicer way to get a souvenir, since you can actually use the ones here. It's a wonderful store to find unique gifts and home decor at a reasonable price. The employees at this location are very kind and helpful. They knew a lot about the items in the store and anything they were unsure of they found more information for me. The building itself is beautifully designed and a staple of Freeport history.
